Sara knew she had been inside too much lately and she therefore decided that she would be spending the time outside, doing whatever it was a thirteen-year-old would do when they were simply relaxing and trying not to think about homework. It was rather difficult for Sara specifically not to think about what she still had to do, no matter how minimal the work was. She was used to getting it done so that she did not have to think about it anymore. She shook her head to clear it, a slight smile on her features as she continued to stroll across the grounds, and after a few minutes she went over to the water. It was inviting but she was unsure of whether she wanted to get in or not. The temperature wasn't too hot, although it was hot enough for a swim.

Odette meant everything to Margo. So now that she didn't have her any more, the Ravenclaw hardly knew what to do with herself. How would she occupy all this free time if she couldn't hang out with her friend? In the end, she decided to take a walk down to the lake, which was often empty and a peaceful place to read or sunbathe. Today, however, a girl Margo couldn't recall speaking to before was already standing by the water's edge, as if in deep contemplation. Margo approached. "Hi," she said. "Are you okay? Are you going to swim?"

October wasn't exactly the warmest month of New Zealand's year, but Daisy hated being inside. Even though it was a warmer day than most, Daisy longed for the heat of February when rain was a distant memory in the past. As her barefeet crunched the grass underneath her, Daisy watched as each blade of grass pushed to the side, or squashed down. She wondered if the grass felt it, or if it even minded. Daisy heard a voice in the distance, and she looked up, noticing the two girls by the lake. Well, if they were going to, then so was she. Daisy ran full speed towards the lake, crying "COWABUNGA!" as she lifted herself off the ground, holding her fully clothed knees to her chest, hoping for the biggest splash as she felt the cold water hit her skin.

Phoebe's assassin target was someone older than her, which she had accepted as a challenge. She had taken on Rose's help to figure out exactly who it was, and was now on the girl's trail. She had followed the girl outside, though at a distance, and was planning to run up behind her and tag her. But then the girl started to run at full speed towards the lake and shouting, and Phoebe cursed. She lit up her wand and sprinted after the girl, determined to get her now. Once she was in the water, maybe she would be an easy target. She vaguely saw two girls she recognized but didn't know the names off near the lake but ignored them, she jumped in after the older Gryffindor, ignoring the cold sting of the water the best she could as she tried to tap her with her wand. It would figure she had the one person that decided to behave like a fish. The water was way colder than she had expected.

Daisy knew she'd made a huge splash and she grinned as she broke the surface to hear another splash. It was obviously one of the girls deciding to join her. However, what she saw instead was a lit wand. Daisy screamed and started swimming backwards. "No! Nooo! Unsuccessful! Unsuccessful! Your mission has faiiiiled!" Daisy cried, all the while splashing water towards the direction of her attacker. This was one competition she did not want to lose!

Sara looked up from the water as someone else spoke, she figured the older girl had spoken to her since there was nobody else nearby. She smiled at her and nodded. "Yeah. I'm just thinking," she told her. "I'm Sara," she introduced herself, thinking that maybe she didn't have to spend the time alone debating whether to swim or not. Just as she was about to suggest it to the other girl who had been very nice to come over to check if she was alright, out of nowhere a much older Gryffindor shouted something before jumping in the lake, followed by something else crazy - one of her classmates jumping in after her to attempt an assassination. Sara shook her head, laughing. "So, I was going to say," she glanced at the blonde once she recovered, "I'm about to put my feet in the water. Would you like to join me?"

Phoebe cursed loudly when the older girl managed to move away, and splashed at her angrily as she started to return to the shore. Swimming in the lake wasn't the worst thing she ever did, but she would've liked to be successful. Clambering back onto the shore and wringing out her hair, she shouted at the Gryffindor. "You're not a mermaid, you know!"
