Beauxbatons,PracticeIt was time for the final practice of the year, before the Beauxbatons team would have the opportunity to go off and compete internationally yet again. They had all done well enough as a team over the course of the year, but there was still room for improvement, and Brendan couldn't help but feel at least a couple of them could have done a lot better. Whether they were just having a bad day remained to be seen, but this was the most important practice of the year, and the boy expected them all to take it very seriously. They needed to be prepared and ready for the match that really mattered.

Standing on the pitch, Brendan waited for the group to arrive and gathered around so that he could address them all. As usual, the Quidditch chest lay locked at his feet, restlessly shaking from side to side in anticipation. "Morning everyone. Great to see you all back! As you know, its not much longer before our big match comes up, and we don't have a lot of opportunities left to practice together as a team. Make the most of today and the time we have set aside, because after this, any further time spent practicing is up to us individually rather than together. Take a moment to stretch and limber up. I want everyone to try their best today." Which meant at least one snitch catch per seeker, ideally. They'd done better than that before, and he was hoping to see them do so again. "Again, no complaints about other players just doing their jobs. Focus on yourself and your role, not on how other people are doing in theirs. Thats our job." Fulke said, thumbing at himself and Elvira. "Everyone ready? Mount your brooms and lets get going. Make every second count!" The chaser gave them all enough time to prepre themselves, but he didn't want to waste too much of it standing around. They only have so long to spare. Unlocking the chest, the boy released the balls inside, and quickly took to the sky himself to begin.

Elvira was feeling many things as the final practice of the year approached, one of those things was relief not to have to host this practice herself. The girl was quite sure she had embarrassed herself a little bit last time, and really hoped the same thing wouldn't happen int he future. She arrived a little earlier than the rest of the team and stepped over to Brendan. Once everyone had arrived, she listened as Brendan talked to the team. Once he was done, she mounted her broom and kicked off into the air. As the balls were released, she kept her eyes trained on the snitch. She lost sight of it after a moment, but had at least an estimate of the direction it went in. She zoomed that way, and spotted it again quickly. Maybe it was cheating to grab it this quick, but she figured it would count in an actual match too. She turned to Brendan as she held it up. "Does this count?" She asked him, waving it in the air before letting it go.

Theodore was as ready as he could have been for this practice. There was still this doubt, or worry, that he wasn't going to be able to do as well as he had in the past, and wouldn't be considered for the team in future, but he could only try his best and see what happened. Joining the others on the pitch, the boy said his hellos and took the spare moment they had to stretch out his arms in preparation. The last thing he needed was his shoulder to spontaneously cramp up as he reached out for the snitch. Knowing his luck lately, it was bound to happen. As soon as they were able to, the boy kicked off the ground and ascended into the air, looking for the golden ball that he'd immediately lost sight of. He found it again pretty quickly - in Elvira's hand. Theo was gobsmacked, his jaw dropping lower than he thought possible. How did she manage to catch up with it so quickly? The boy hadn't been in as much awe of the older seeker than he was now. Even after she released it once more, he could only sit there and watch it fly away while he recovered from the surprise of the fastest snitch catch Beauxbatons had ever seen.

Nadine was always eager to prove herself as the youngest on the team, so she headed to practice a little early. She smiled at Theodore and said hello to him before looking over at the captains. She listened attentively as Brendan spoke. She had to admit she admired the older chaser, and was always eager to learn from him. She hoped her outburst when she had been hit with two bludgers had been forgotten a little by now, though the comments about complaining suggested otherwise. She was glad when they got to start, and she immediately grabbed the quaffle. But before she could even attempt to make her way to the goalpost, the seeker had caught the snitch. Nadine looked at the girl in shock. If she managed that during a game it would certainly be a fast win. The girl shook herself out of her surprise and started heading to the goalposts. She had to succeed too, in her own way.

Maia listened to the speech and saluted the captains as usual when instructed to mount her broomstick. She was excited about their last practice before the match. As soon as the balls were released, Maia kicked herself off the ground and flew after one of the bludgers. She had done okay the last time but she knew that she could do way better than that. Wanting to once again prove her skill to the captains, the girl was determined to get a couple of hits in today. She sped up to a bludger to catch up on it and once she did so, hit the iron ball with her bat and aimed it at Elvira but saw it going off course and hitting Brendan instead.

They had been in the air for less than a minute and already Elvira had caught the snitch. Fulke looked at his co-captain was an expression that was both impressed, and confused. How had she managed to catch it so quickly? If this were a real match against New Zealand, they'd be breaking records for sure. "Oui." The redhead said after a moment. There was no rule against how fast someone could take the snitch, and as far as he could tell, she hadn't cheated to do so. He trusted that the catch really was down to Elvira's skill, and he couldn't wait to challenge the foreign team and achieve another victory. If she kept this up, their match would finish in no time. With a thumbs up, Fulke returned to his flying, and keeping an eye on the other players, but was stopped short by a bludger slamming into him. He hissed in pain, but after an approving nod to Maia, he returned to what he was doing, determined not to be distracted by it.

The snitch had flown away much faster than Theodore had expected it to, after being caught. Already the boy had lost sight of it, as he finally roused himself from his brief stupour to continue flying. He needed to put a lot more work in if he were going to impress Brendan and Elvira. She latter was setting the bar higher and higher every few practices, and it almost felt impossible to keep up sometimes.

Fletcher was ready and eager to go as she took her position with her teammates, although it wasn't long until Elvira had already managed to catch the snitch and she grinned at the older girl. Maia was already on form too as she watched a bludger head off towards a player, but unfortunately for Brendan, Fletcher didn't see the change of direction until it was too late. She needed to do better at her defence and kept an eye out for any more.

Elvira couldn't help feeling a little smug about her victory so early on. She had wanted to prove she was the better seeker, and in a way she had. She knew it wasn't done yet, she had to keep trying to catch it again. She couldn't count on doing something like this again at their match, that was extremely unlikely. The girl looked around for any sign of the snitch, but unfortunately it didn't seem keen to be caught a second time so soon.

Nadine rushed towards the goal posts with the quaffle, as always she was eager to show what she could do. But as she tried to score, her fingers fumbled with the ball and it went wide. Inwardly, she cursed. With a slight huff, she flew off to do a lap of the pitch while some other chaser got the chance to try, and probably do better than she had.

Maia flew circles around the stadium to look for another opportunity to hit a player but didn't see anything near her. She wasn't too annoyed yet as training had just started and already hit someone, though not intentionally, but with Fletcher flying around as well knew that her competitive side would probably come out again soon. She continued to fly around, keeping an eye on the others in case she would need to do some quick defending.

Even though it was the last practise before attending Hogwarts again, Fletcher still felt as though they stood a good chance against the school and hoped they'd be able to win again. Flying through the air with her bat in hand, she wanted to give this session her all as next time it would be so relaxing.

Cheryl kicked off from the ground and the practice began. She smiled as she saw her team members and was eager to score some points today. The blonde smiled at the young chaser and gave her a thumbs up for good trying when she tried to score as first in this game. Cheryl took posession of the quaffle as it was tossed back into the game and flew with high speed another lap on the field. And was on her way to try and score with Celine.

Elvira was still pleased with how quickly she had managed to get the snitch, but she knew it would be best if she caught it again. Theodore was also very talented, so the odds of him catching it quickly too were pretty high. She vaguely noticed the young alternate chaser trying to score and fail. The girl seemed annoyed with herself, and while Elvira could relate, she also knew it was simply part of becoming better at the sport. You had to try and fail a few times before you could succeed.

Jamie caught the ball as it was thrown back out to the players. He watched Cheryl catch the ball and flew in next to her in case she wanted to pass the ball to him. He was ready to help her out, or even just ready to get the next chance at getting the ball and the next chance at scoring after her.

Cheryl flew towards Celine and threw the quaffle but saw how she missed. The blonde sighted for a moment, but figured she would have a chance again. She didn't liked it, but she was motivated to do good. She gave another chaser the opportunity to score and smiled at her teammates. Celine was just a good keeper.

Although she had been up early to prepare for practice this morning, Celine hardly minded it. Her routine had proceeded as normal, all the way from her dormitory down to her current position in front of the Quidditch hoops. Practice had already started out with good signs, even though Celine had missed actually seeing Elvira catch the snitch in her effort to beat the chasers to the goal. She'd had a couple of her own saves, against the newer chasers, and as Celine threw the Quaffle back out onto the pitch she wondered who she'd have to defend against next time.

She wasn't having any luck with bludgers so decided that she would instead defend one of the Seekers until she would get another opportunity to send a bludger someone ways. Maia flew over to Elvira and let her know that she was here to defend the girl from any bludgers coming her way.

A couple of scoring attempts and so far, no dice. Hogwarts was going to have a tough time getting past Celine too, which was the saving grace here. Fulke flew in and caught the quaffle once the Keeper threw it back into play, flashing a grin toward her as he tucked the leatherbound ball beneath his arm and flew back to do his lap. The redhead was fairly confident that he had a good chance of getting past Celine - he'd played with her long enough to know what her style was like, but then again, so had she, so it was never a certainty.

Elvira noticed how Celine saved another goal and shot her best friend a grin. She was really a force to be reckoned with by now, which made her proud. They had joined the team together, and now they would play against Hogwarts once again. Elvira was sure only the very best chasers of the other school would be able to get past Celine. She watched with interest as Brendan took the quaffle next. He was the most experienced of all their chasers, so if anyone would be able to score it was him.

Nadine felt a little bit better about her failure when she saw Cheryl was unable to score as well. At least it wasn't just her. She knew it was good for the team that they had a good keeper, but they should have good chasers too. She watched as Brendan took the quaffle next and approached the goal. She hoped to be able to see his attempt to score up close, as well as get the quaffle once he either succeeded or failed so she could try again.

Theodore had caught sight of the snitch a couple of times, but it was always gone and quickly as it had come. The boy was struggling to keep track of it, not just due to how fast the small orb was, but because his attention was equally on the bludgers. Straight into the match, Brendan had been hit by one, and Theodore did not want to be next.

Once she saw that Brendan had taken the Quaffle, Celine didn't let her eyes move from him for a second as he flew the half-lap around the pitch to get back to the hoops. He was the most experienced chaser on the team – and the one who had managed to score against her the most in the past. But not this time, Celine tried to promise herself.

Elvira glanced over at Theodore and was glad to see he hadn't caught the snitch yet. She kind of wanted to catch it twice before he even got the chance to get it once. It wasn't too long before she would graduate and he would take over, but until then she definitely wanted to be the better seeker of the two of them.

As she followed Elvira around the pitch to defend her from bludgers, she noticed one coming right for the Seeker out of the corner of her eyes. She swung her bat against the ball and aimed it one of the Chasers, Cheryl. However, for the second time today it went off course and hit Brendan again. ''I'm sorry.'' She muttered as she continued to follow Elvira.
