It was still the holidays before the term started, and not too long before the wedding. The Headmistress of Hogwarts New Zealand was nervous about the night ahead of her. She knew it was going to be fun and exciting, but hoped she didn't have to make a fool of herself, especially in front of her work-mates, in which they then had something to hold over her. Ava doubted they would be cruel enough to hold it over her head for something serious, but she could bet they would have fun with it.
Ava wasn't very close to a lot of girls, but she knew that her closest, Cyndi, would have her back, and that she would have invited a group of fun girls to come along. She knew Natalie and Abby were coming along too, and she got along with the lovely ladies, so it was going to be fun. Still, her stomach was filled with butterflies, unsure what crazy ideas the ladies had in store for her. They were all going to meet at Ava's cozy house before setting off for the night.

Grateful for her husband’s assistance in transporting her to Ava’s place for the bachelorette party, Cyndi gave Cam a swift kiss and a pat on the bum before watching him apparate away. The woman gave her belly a light pat as she felt it being jolted. Unlike in her previous pregnancy when she had shown from about five months on, Cyndi was in her sixth month and only now just beginning to show. It was lovely to be able to get around easily, but she knew that wasn’t likely to last too much longer now. She knew that in a week or two, she would pop and walking would become a great difficulty.

Knocking on the door, Cyndi wondered if she was the first to arrive. “Oh…Ava” she sang as she heard someone nearing the door, “I hope you’re reaaaaady.” The woman was thoroughly excited to get Ava off to celebrate a special night with her colleagues. Her impending marriage to the Head Auror, her former professor, was a popular story in the media. Cyndi didn’t think about that much though. She was just happy that her colleague and friend was happy, and Ava seemed to be.

Elvera was a little surprised when she had received a letter to the headmistresses Hens night. she was looking forward to it. although it was the school holidays she had been working. today she had been in the shop sorting through the different teas on the shelf and getting rid of the old stock which was going off. as soon as the shop shut she headed upstairs to their house and up to her fantastic attic room where she got dressed in a black dress which had a layer of purple sparkly mesh over the top of the tutu like skirt. she had always had a slightly odd taste in fashion. some may say it was a soft goth or fairy goth, of course she toned it down at school to a more classic style, but as she had the opportunity she thought she should be waring something a bit more fun. when she was changed she made her way outside to apparate to the the headmistresses house pausing on the way out to say goodbye to her mum, and adopted sisters.
Once she arrived at the house she saw the door was ajar she knocked as she opened it. "hello. Ava, Are you readyfor tonight?" she she called as she entered. "and Hello cyndi thanks both of you for inviting me." She continued when she saw that Cyndi was already there with Ava. she didn't have a clue what cyndi had planned. but she had promised herself that she would enjoy it and make sure Ava had a good time too.

Natalie Reyes wrapped the leather jacket that she had borrowed from Kiera around her tightly, trying to offset the chilly air. She had made her family dinner before kissing them all good bye. Tonight was Ava's bachelorette party. Nat liked the headmistress, and she knew that tonight would be good fun. She remembered her own bachelorette party fondly, albeit it had been many, many years ago. Natalie knocked on the door before entering the house. She found that Cyndi and Elvera were already there with Ava. Her honey eyes glanced at her sister-in-law and friend, seeing that she was finally starting to show. Cyndi looked good; she only wished she could say the same for Kiera. Natalie had gone over to Kiera's yesterday to see Jemma as well as the twins. She had left with quite a few concerns. The children had all seemed fine, but Kiera had lost weight and had dark circles under her eyes. Since finding out that Natalie did in fact have a father and a brother and two sisters, Natalie, Damien, Lucian, and Layla had all grown closer to the Kingsleys and were finally feeling as if they were part of the family. "Hello everyone!" she said cheerfully. "Are you ready for tonight, Ava?" she asked mischievously.

Abby apparated to Ava's house and knocked on the door before entering. She had never been here before, but she was happy to be spending some time with the lovely ladies she worked with. Since her fight with Jasper just before Valentine's day, she hadn't been back to the house and so she was happy to be able to put it all behind her, at least for one night. It was Ava's time to shine now and she knew that this was going to be a night to remember. She could feel it. She wasn't entirely sure what a party of this nature entailed, not having had one of her own, so she was more than a little excited to find out. She wasn't even sure if gifts were usually the norm, but she had bought one anyway, just so that she wouldn't seem the fool if everyone but herself had bought one, if they were not necessary, well, she would give it to Ava anyway. It was strange to think that Ava was marrying Mr King. It was one of the most talked about weddings that she had ever seen and she had to wonder whether all the hype was good for them. But she didn't worry, Ava and her fiancé would not be taking this step if they weren't ready, that much atleast, was obvious. "Are we all ready for an amazing night?" She asked and she placed her clutch under her arm to fix her hair. A few strands had gotten loose during the travel, but it was nothing she could not fix easily. She was terribly excited for the night ahead.

Laughing nervously at Cyndi's sing-song, Ava opened the door slightly and peeked outside. She saw Cyndi standing there, and thankfully didn't seem to have anything in her hands that she would throw at her. Unsure why Ava thought Cyndi would, she fully opened the door, welcoming her colleague in with a hug. Giggling as she let go, Ava took a step back and looked at Cyndi. "Thank-you for organizing this. You look very good! Although, I'm not sure I should be thanking you yet." Ava laughed. Not soon after their greeting, Elvera arrived. Ava greeted her with a hug also, getting very excited, and increasingly nervous about the night. She didn't know why she was so nervous, she was usually up for anything. She supposed it could also just be a mixture of wedding nerves too. Ava smiled at Elvera as she thanked the two for inviting her. "Of course!" Ava replied. "Wouldn't be a hen's party without my main hens!" Ava laughed, then cringed at her lame pun. Oh, it was going to be an interesting night. Natalie and Abby were the next to arrive and again, Ava greeted them with hugs. She laughed nervously as they both asked if she was ready for the night. "You all have asked me if I am ready for tonight. I thought I was, but now - with all of you asking me - I'm not so sure anymore!" Ava giggled. "Thank-you all for coming. I'm not so sure where to start - or where to begin; I haven't had one of these before." Ava stated, staring blankly at her maid of honor. "Cyndi, help a girl out here?" Ava asked, laughing nervously again.

Cyndi giggled as Ava opened the door only enough to peek outside so she could assess the situation and determine that she was safe. Returning the hug as she finally seemed to, Cyndi laughed. “Yea…you might want to wait until the end of the night to do that” Cyndi replied, a smirk on her face that lasted for a moment before she brightened. “But thanks. It took forever to find a shirt that masked all of this” she stated as she gestured towards her growing belly. It wasn’t too long before the other women that had been invited began to appear one by one. They were all professors at the school, but today would be one of the first times that they would all be hanging out without the added responsibility of having to be back at the castle by a reasonable time. The only one, besides Ava, who she’d really spent a great deal of time with was Cam’s sister, Natalie.

Reaching into her bag while she listened to Ava greet the others, Cyndi rummaged around. Although the bag was no bigger than a regular purse, inside it was the size of a small drawer thanks to magic. She smiled as her hand closed around the items she’d been looking for. One was rather inconspicuous, just a small, empty bottle that had once held perfume. The other was a little more obvious. “Well, first you have to put this on” Cyndi stated as she held out a crown for Ava. She had bought it on a whim just a few days ago when she’d been searching for an outfit to wear. Standing up, something that was taking more and more effort these days, Cyndi held up the thin bottle. “And then, we all touch this and we’ll be off. I promised Cam I wouldn’t apparate anywhere, so he kindly fixed this up for me” she added, holding the bottle in her palm so that everyone else could grab hold. Once everyone had, Cyndi felt the familiar tug that came with using a portkey. She shut her eyes tight, opening them when she felt her feet hit land. Opening her eyes, she looked around at their destination. It was a fairly popular place among wizards, and was considered to be the wizarding equivalent to the muggle place that was called Las Vegas. Cyndi had been to both places before, but preferred this place. There was a little bit of everything and Cyndi hoped to get to quite a bit of it before they had to head back home. “Ready Ava?” she turned, tucking her arm into her friend’s arm.

Whoever posts next can feel free to move us along a bit ;)

Elvera saw two other ladies arrive. "Abbie, Natalie. nice to see you" she said. she knew abbie but natalie she didn't know any better than in passing. it would be nice to get to know them all a bit better this evening. Soon Cyndi decided that everyone was there and produced a tiara for Ava to wear. "that is cute. great idea Cyndi" she said that it was time for them to go to where the party was heading. she had been on the school long enough to know what a port key was when she saw one. she placed her finger on it knowing that was all that was needed. a minute later she felt a unfortunately familiar lurch behind her torso. she usually avoided portkeys. she liked floo.
they reached what could only be described as a huge casino. this would be fun she thought. "great choice Cyndi. ready for the night of your life Ava?" she said. she had never been to a casino before. unfortunately the ride had made her feel a little dizzy. "who wants a drink? first round's on me" she said linking into the chain and leading them towards a bar where she put in her order for a watermelon soda. she didn't drink alcohol, none. she always found being a seer it messed with her head in a way which was far more unpleasant than most people. the usual control she had over her gift was lost with alcohol. but then again. being a seer may be useful in a casino.

Sorry it isn't that great

Abby smiled as Cyndi produced a tiara for Ava and Abby clapped in delight. She walked around to examine the crown on the woman's head. It looked great. "Ava, you look splendid." She told her looking around at the looks on the others faces. She really wished she could have had her own bachelorette party. She was sure she would have enjoyed it. She walked over to the rest of the group and placed her finger on the thin bottle of perfume. Abby had never liked the feeling of apparating or port keying, she preferred to do a lot of things the muggle way. It had a lot to do with the fact that she was so good at teaching her students about Muggle Studies. The familiar pull behind her navel pulled her out of her revelry as the appeared at what appeared to be the magical equivalent of Las Vegas. It was rather a big place. Abby smiled and linked herself into the chain, that Elvera seemed to be leading. She nodded at Elvera's call of rounds and ordered herself a firewhisky. She wasn't exactly a heavy drinker, but she had always liked to have one or two drinks on a special occasion and this was definitely special. "I'm so excited guys!" She told them, looking around the casino. "Ava, it's your day. What shall we do?" She asked, looking expectantly at the woman, whom when in school, was her boss, but out here, she was the woman who was soon to be Mrs Nicolas King.

The Headmistress cringed at the tiara. She felt like an idiot putting it on her head, but laughed all the same. While it may be an embarrassing night, Ava would probably be a good sport about most of it; she didn't mind getting embarrassed too much. Ava touched the portkey with the rest of her girls, and her eyes lit up when she saw where they were. She squeezed Cyndi's arm and giggled nervously as she asked if she was ready. "I sure hope so!" Ava joined the link and followed on as the crew were led to the bar. "Firewhisky." Ava said without blinking. It was her bachelorette night, she was allowed to drink! Especially if she had to do stupid things.
Ava thought about what they could do first. Of course a bit of money spending and card gaming was in the play, but Ava's eyes were drawn to the bright lights that read "KARAOKE". Her face lit up. What a better way to make a fool of herself than with her friends making fools of themselves too? She pointed her finger towards the room and grabbed her drink and a hand and dragged her girls over to the Karaoke bar.

Cyndi followed the ladies as they all marched their way into a bar. Although she wouldn't be able to partake, she was pleased that they had chosen to get a few drinks in first. Surely, it would make for an interesting night if everyone was loosened up. "Just water for me" Cyndi stated with a smile. At least she wasn't the only one not drinking.

With a bundle of interest, Cyndi glanced over to woman of honor to find out what it was she wanted to do. With a chuckle, she grabbed her bottle of water and followed Ava and the other ladies to the Karaoke bar. There was plenty of things she wasn't going to be able to do because of the bundle of joy she was carrying, but Karaoke was not one of those things. Heading straight for the book that listed all of the songs that the bar could play, Cyndi was delighted to see a wide variety of music, both muggle and wizard. "Let's sing a song for Ava, ladies" she stated, waving the other ladies over to hear their suggestions.

"Just a butterber right" said elvera when it was her turn to order. it wasnt a strong drink.not at all but it ws stronger than what she usuallt drank as she found that anything alcoholic messd with her head. sprt of like most people she assumed but it also made it harder to control her seer abilities, although come to think of it she was in a casino, and she could think of a few potential benifits for that ability though she was not the kind of person to do anything that frivolous. Once she saw everyone had their drink she covered the charge just in time to be pulled with the others towards a room. she just about had time to see the sign above the door before she was dragged into the room filled with music. at the front there was a stage on which a couple were singing a weird sisters song.
Cyndi asked for suggestions. "I think i know one, it is an old, like really old muggle song, but i think it will work." deciding to keep her idea as a surprise to Ava she raised her hand in order to hide what she was saying when she whispered (or rather said quite loudly in order to be heard oer the final chorus which half the audience was joining in on) "It's called Girls just want to have fun. and i am pretty sure it is by, umm, Cyndi, oh goodness, Cyndi, cyndi, Cyndi looper" she said not actually sure if she had it right. she remember the song from when she was young and was spending the evening at morgauses friends house when the adults were out for a circle. the ladies teenage daughter responsible for looking after the children had put it on and they had had a huge party. she remembered it as she hadn't really mixed with many children. and certainly hadn't really had a party often. she wondered if any of the other professors knew it, or if they thought it was a good suggestion. [/b]

Abby smiled at the others as she grabbed her fire-whisky from the bar and followed the other women over to the Karaoke bar. It was an excellent suggestion and Abby was not going to let the fact that she couldn't sing get in the way. When Cyndi asked for suggestions of songs, Abby thought about all the songs she knew, which wasn't many and was about to make a suggestion, when Elvera said Girls just want to have fun. Abby didn't know the song, but she did appreciate the fact that it was an old muggle song, maybe if it was any good, she could show it to her students. She liked showing them new stuff after al and she was always on the look out for more creative endeavours for them. "Good pick, Elvera. Ladies, i believe we have a dear friend to serenade?" She said as she placed her firewhisky on the table after taking a few sips and pulling the chorus, apart from Ava, onto the stage with Elvera. "Ava, you stay right there and let us do the singing, I for one will be horrible, but I'm sure the others will drown me out." She told her, laughing as she handed everyone a microphone and looked over at the screen as the song started.
