Winter in Hogwarts New Zealand was definitely warmer than what the Hufflepuff Prefect was used to. Peaking at about 15 degrees Celsius, Proserpina Laurent felt like taking a long walk. The air was nippy, but it was nice enough for her to come out and enjoy it! She breathed in the fresh air and started the walk. The sixth year was glad that the OWLs were over, and she could drop a few classes. Now she could really focus on what she wanted to do. She was going to become a healer, and she definitely could not wait to become one! The Hufflepuff Prefect looked around the lawn, a few first years running by and other years that she could not tell by the looks of them. Her brown eyes were sparkling with happiness right now. Everything was just right in the world. Well, not all right, not with her sister off in the circus with some boy, and the one that she was crushing on had graduated already. She was utterly alone. Nothing to distract her from her classes or Quidditch. Everything could have been falling apart, but Proserpina was determined not to allow such a thing to happen. This year, she was going to have the best year in the world! She was so determined, her little heart fluttered in her chest. She was becoming a young woman, and her dad really got upset when he realized just how much growing up his twin daughters had done. Identical, but so very different at the same time. Philippa was really sporty, while Proserpina was and she also loved doing arts and crafts. She loved doing things with her hands, and had to keep them up to shape since she messed with wood a lot, it could really damage her skin.

She thought about taking a trip up to the owlery and send a letter to Romaine. Maybe one to Philippa too. But to Romaine first since she was still a little mad at her sister for leaving her here all alone to be a single Prefect against the world. She missed her other half. She didn't know what to do without her. Sighing, she walked along the lawns, looking down and brushing her wavy, gold locks behind her ear. She was very relaxed today when it came to style. Everything about her screamed that she didn't know what fashion was. She could dress if she wanted to, but that was just not who she was. Proserpina was definitely a person that dressed what she wanted, when she wanted. She was definitely not a girly girl. Proserpina wondered if that was what her dad wanted her and Pippa to be. Little princesses. She sighed and she walked to the rosebush. As far as she researched, this was made for someone that died while they were attending here, years and years ago. Proserpina looked over the bush, noticing that it was not bloomed yet. It would soon though! She always admired the scenery. Everything about this place was amazing. Since she arrived, she loved magic. Proserpina continued to walk along, debating on writing to Romaine, but what would she put?

Even as the clock ticked continuously, activities for leisure was always a necessity for Artemis or else, she'd collapse under the wall of insane pressure. Reading, to her, was a possible escape to everything that was happening around her now. It created an imaginary alternate universe in which she was grateful to explore and let her imagination run in absolutely any direction. The words that were wonderfully written on the page she was on gave her a sense of peacefulness, even with the constant responsibility of being a role model to the Slytherins (the younger ones, especially) and the pressure of the NEWTs next year. Artemis allowed herself to forget all those things and simply centralize her attention on the novel that was in her hands. It was an interesting read, with action as its main genre. It gave her a constant thrill, however she knew that she would have to stop reading the book anytime later. She still had responsibilities to attend to, plus, she wanted to go and enhance her social life a bit. Hers was dull, in her humble opinion.

The ground beneath her wasn't totally dry, but still, she stubbornly sat her arse on it. She shifted her back on the tree trunk that she was leaning on; her eyes still focused on the text in front of her. Messing her outfit was not a big deal for her so she thought that she could sit there as long as she wanted. She was hidden in the Rosebush anyway, wherein she thought nobody darted an eye on the place. The breeze that bit on her cheek gave it a slightly pink hue which resulted into her mentally wishing she brought a cute beanie. Artemis shook her head and resumed her light reading, absorbing the words with ease and letting her imagination paint the scenes in her mind vividly. The rest of the world was just a vague blur. Artemis relaxed her shoulders and sighed pleasantly. It was nice having almost the whole place to herself - at least the silence that hugged the surrounding area was of the peaceful kind. Crossing her ankle over the other, she let one hand hold the center of the book and whereas the other settled on her lap.

The peace and quiet for other people was unsettling, but to keen Slytherin reader, it was perfect. It was not all the time she could get some quietness to herself - hell, even at night, those roommates that talked in their sleep irked Artemis so. She thought she'd relish the fact that she was enjoying a nice read outdoors, with no one around the area yet. Although company wasn't exactly forbidden right now, Artemis hoped that it would not be a first year who got lost. She thought that as students they should know their way around the castle, but as a prefect she also had to answer if they had an any inquiries. Unceasing questions never failed to stir some irritation inside the prefect so at least for today, she hoped no one would ask any stupid questions. Please.

Her mind constantly drifted to Romaine Snow, like she was some ten-year-old with a crush. It was getting ridiculous to Proserpina. At least she had a friend with him, but she wanted someone more than just Romaine. She would love it if she got to know some of the other prefects at the very least. Proserpina found herself stopping when her brown eyes drifted around to see that there was someone else here, but she was reading. Proserpina was in the same area, but not too close. The girl had to be her age, and she thought that she could possibly make a friend out of her. Well, she would have to remember who she was. Her appearance looked like that one Slytherin Prefect in her class (how small it was, there was no excuse for her not to know the name of her common peers). Ah, it was Artemis, was it not? She thought that she had soared past her name several times in the yearbook! Proserpina made sure that she did not look homely or untamed as she approached the other common Prefect. Proserpina would definitely not be insulted if Artemis did not know her name. Proserpina knew that her name was somewhat hard to pronounce, or even spell. Often, she had people refer to her as Pina. It was a little strange, but nicknames could be anything. Romaine often called her something along the lines of jellybean or something sweets related, possibly due to their equal love of sweets.

The Hufflepuff sixth year arrived in the same area as the Slytherin prefect, and she had this bright smile upon her lips. Naturally, this prefect was always smiling, always so friendly. Proserpina used to be a Keeper for Hufflepuff too, but now she was a Chaser. What could she say, she was pretty much one of those girls that loved to try out new positions! Artemis was reading, and Proserpina hoped that she would not get into trouble or get yelled at by her interrupting a possibly good story. “Hey, mind some company?” Proserpina really hoped that she was not interrupting something good. Well, it had to be a good book if someone was out here in the gorgeous scenery reading. The Hufflepuff put her hands behind her back as she patiently waited for a response. Proserpina never handled rudeness well. Either she would run off, or she would release a rare tantrum that once had an older Slytherin potentially frightened. However the likeness of that was very slim to none. She was simply looking for someone to hang out with, possibly get to know before her time at Hogwarts ran out. She would have befriended others in the school, but that one Gryffindor seemed to get into trouble a lot, and she wanted none of that. She wasn’t sure about that other Slytherin prefect, Troxa, but he seemed nice enough to Auden. Maybe she could get to know him before her last days here. For now, her gentle brown eyes rested on her shoes, almost taking on a shy appearance.

Talk about lame, bah.
