As otherworldly and magical as the Yule Ball had felt, the Valentines Dance felt different somehow. She and Amber had been dating for a month and a half now. What had just felt like a dream before the Yule Ball was their everyday life now. She gripped Amber's hand happily as they made their way in to the dance, all the uncertainty and nervousness between them a thing of the past. Looking around, Ainsley was amazed as ever by all the decorations and outfits. "Oh look, it's all so pretty!" Ainsley said happily, glancing down at Amber. "What do you want to do first?"

Amber had looked forward to the Valentine's dance since the moment the yule ball was over. That night had been so magical, she had wanted to go to another dance with Ainsley and experience the same sort of feeling. But despite the many similarities between the two events, this time it did feel different. Less strange and new, more comfortable. It had been thrilling to go together as more than friends for the first time, but she had to admit the safe familiarity was a less tiring experience. Amber grinned when Ainsley looked around in wonder at everything. She looked a little like she had in their first year, when everything magical still amazed her. Amber couldn't help but tease a little. "Not as pretty as you." She said, though she grinned and nudged the other girl as she said it. It was meant to be a little bit corny, not entirely serious. At Ainsley's question, she shrugged. "Perhaps we can get a drink?" She squeezed the girl's hand and smiled at her. It felt nice to be a couple openly. She really didn't mind if people saw them together like this.

The compliment from Amber caught Ainsley off guard and she blushed, grinning brightly. "Oh." She said happily, then remembered her manners. "Thanks." It still felt strange and new, hearing Amber say things like that, and Ainsley hoped it would never get any less thrilling. "You look really pretty too..." She added softly, smiling. When Amber suggested getting a drink she nodded quickly, squeezing Amber's hand in response. "That sounds like a good idea." She said gently, going with Amber to the tables with refreshments. "This is so nice..."
