Jamie had been enjoying the private company of his husband, they had been able to relax and be around each other in the perfect seclusion. He'd only gone out a few times, once to buy some extra supplies and the other to both go speak to his boss and then go see the house. But it was ready and Jamie was very excited about it. He knew that Onyx was still asleep but being too eager for the day, Jamie had gotten up early and with a few spells had cleared up the flat of all the nicknacks they'd be taking with them and already sent them ahead to the new house. The place was looking rather bare, but he was so eager to be able to have a house with his husband, to share a place with him completely, and not just have his home be the one for them.

In all honesty before meeting Onyx, Jamie had doubted that he'd move from this Marseille flat, he did like it, he had always enjoyed the view and the neighbourhood, he'd liked the bakery and the proximity to everything, but he knew this new house, that was further away would be perfect. The little path which led directly to a little beach. Jamie moved to the kitchen and began packing that up, half with his magic and half by hand, he was determined that by the time Onyx woke up they'd be more or less completely ready to go.

Onyx hadn't slept well. He'd tossed and turned a good bit, snuggling into Jamie being the only thing to settle him down during the night. It meant he slept in a bit. But even when Onyx woke up, he struggled to pull himself out of bed, instead just laying there in the warmth of the blankets and enjoying the familiarity of their bed. He stared at the wall for a bit, listening to the sound of Jamie moving around the flat. Eventually, though, Onyx couldn't wait any longer and he had to get up. Onyx yawned and pushed himself out of bed, sitting there a moment.

His hair was a mess, his eyes were bleary. He stood, Jamie's shirt a bit too big on him. Onyx wrapped his arms around himself and slowly trudged out of the room, finding his husband in the kitchen. Onyx had been trying not to look around, his gut twisting with how empty it all was. He stood in the doorway a moment, watching Jamie work, before finally speaking. "Jamie?" Onyx spoke softly, his sapphire eyes full of tears.

Jamie knew moving was the best thing for them. This new house was to their exact needs and specification. It would be a home they would grow into, with all the space they needed for everything they both wanted in life. He was almost done with the kitchen when he heard the soft voice of the love of his life. He put down what was in his hand and glanced at the man, somewhat alarmed to see his eyes full of tears. "Oh no, my baby!" he immediately rushed over to wrap his arms around him. "What's wrong?" he asked, he was sure it was perhaps the house like it was for him, but he never wanted to see his husband upset.

Onyx sighed, shutting his eyes and burying his face in Jamie's neck. That was better. It was warm and familiar and it made it easier to pretend he couldn't see how empty the flat was. He snuck his arms around Jamie, snuggling in close. "I..." he hesitated, before letting out a deep sigh. "I don't like it," he managed softly, sniffling. "I... I know we're doing the right thing," He whispered. "But it... its so hard,"

Onyx bit his lip, his tears spilling over and his voice cracking as he tried tp explain himself. "It's just... we've always been here, its all been here.... I met you on the front porch, we kissed for the first time in the kitchen, I fell in love with you on the balcony that first day, you asked me out, we made love," Onyx was clinging to Jamie, trying not to cry but he was almost breaking down, pressing harder into Jamie to try and stop himself. "This is the first place I've ever felt like I belonged, being here with you..." He whimpered, hiccupping and hiding his face even further in Jamie's neck.

Jamie hugged his husband tightly nodding slightly. Listening to all the words and he knew that he agreed with it, felt the same way about this place and this place with him. He almost pulled away from him when Onyx pressed into him more, so he just tighted his hold on him. "I'm gonna miss this apartment too, but the new place will have so many more, we'll make so many more," Jamie assured him with warmth in his voice. "For example, it has this kitchen which we'll spend makeing a whole bunch of new dishes in, and this garden where we'll grow our own lavender," He mentioned with a little smile.

Onyx sniffled, trying to listen to Jamie and calm himself down. He pulled away a bit, moving his hands to Jamie's shoulders. "I know, you're right," Onyx pouted a bit, swiping the back of his hand over his face to try and wipe away the tears. "It's like... I'm excited for us to go, I know it's going to be amazing, I just... forgot in all the excitement of building a home with you that it actually meant leaving," He let out a strained giggle, his lip quivering and his eyes brimming over with tears again. "Dammit, I'm sorry," Onyx took a step back, hanging his head and scrubbing his face with his hand to try and wipe away the evidence and make himself stop crying.

Jamie nodded at him and smile, "Hey, it's okay, you're allowed to be upset," he assured him. He didn't mind Onyx being upset, it was fair and right to be. This was a big thing for them. This would be sad, and he knew it was important to feel sad. "Why don't you start on the clothes and then we'll send it on to the house. Then we can do our goodbyes to the house," he told him, it would be good to go around and say goodbye to all of it, let them linger in the memories for a moment before they moved on and physically moved to their new home.

Onyx sniffled, peeking up at Jamie through the mess of his ebony hair. He stepped in again and hugged his husband, lingering a moment. "Okay," He agreed easily, snuggling into Jamie a bit before stepping back. He stole a soft kiss, taking an extra moment to play with Jamie's hair before walking back to the bedroom. He didn't start packing right away, instead getting dressed first. Packing was easy enough, and before long there was nothing left for Onyx to do. With a deep sigh, he pushed his hair back out of his face- a bit of a useless gesture as it just fell right back- and wandered from the room again to try and find Jamie.

Jamie lingered in the kiss and then just watched Onyx as he left. His attention moved back to the kitchen and between him and his magic it was packed up in no time. They were leaving some furniture, things he no longer needed, things they'd replaced with better ones. He made his way through the rooms, double checking that everything they had highlighted to keep was gone. And he eventually knew they were ready. He went towards the bedroom just as Onyx walked out. "Hey baby, you done in here?" he asked with a smile, moving to put an arm around his husband.

Onyx jumped when he almost immediately ran into Jamie, smiling softly and folding easily into his side. "I... yeah, everything is gone," He sighed, before peeking up to his husband. "One last walk through before we go?" He asked, one hand clutching gently at the hem of Jamie's shirt while the other rested gently on his chest.

Jamie nodded, he held him tightly and then smiled, "Yup," he said, "It's where we say goodbye and thank you," he knew it was a little silly, that the house wouldn't care if they said goodbye but he knew it was good, he knew it helped to move beyond something, the properly close the book on that chapter. He guided them to the first room, and said their goodbyes to it. And he guided them gently one last time through the home, it was sad, he had so many good memories of this house, but it felt good to see it all and then he finished on the balcony. "Are you ready?"

Onyx nodded slowly, biting his lip and letting Jamie guide him through the house, whispering heartfelt goodbyes and thank yous to every room they entered until finally they were left on the balcony. Onyx knew he was crying again, but he gave Jamie a shaky smile. "Almost," he whispered, stepping closer. Onyx pushed up on tiptoe, pulling Jamie down into a long, loving kiss. "Mon chiot," Onyx whispered, running his fingers into the mans hair and holding him close. "You are the best thing to ever happen to me, James Derouin," Onyx giggled, hiccupping a bit as tears streamed down his face. He kissed Jamie again, smothering him in affection. "My sweet, sweet puppy, you are my heart and soul and I love you with every shred of my being," Onyx whispered against Jamie's lips, clinging to his husband.

Jamie was more than happy to share in the affection that Onyx was showering him with. He kissed him back and then smiled fondly at him. He had to feel that the feeling was mutual and he couldn’t wait for them to start this new chapter. He held him close and then with a little nod of permission he apparated them to the new home. The house was well warded, no one would see them apparating in and out, no muggles would be able to access without a warning being set off. It also couldn’t be found by random magical people. He smiled at his husband, and knew that going from it being an empty field to now their house, to their specifications, with the soft sounds of the sea ahead of them, the warmth of the coastal area. The sun light streaming in through the trees. Everything was perfect, the front garden didn’t have that much grass, given it was difficult to grow, but had the local vegetation and a little area to the side of the house leading to the back garden, with clearly a bit of a vegetable patch. ”Well…what do you think?”

Onyx was burrowed into Jamie, hiding his face. He was almost afraid to look when he felt their feet on the ground. There was a light breeze, making him shiver, but it also brought the scent of lavender and the sea. He swallowed nervously, and keeping hold of Jamie's shirt, he gently pulled away to peek at the house.

Onyx's breath caught, his heart stuttering in his chest as he took in the sight. "Oh, mon chiot," Onyx breathed, his eyes tearing up as he took in their home. "It... it's perfect," He whispered, eagerly taking it all in. The house was two stories, but it wasn't very tall, the walls were a lighter auburn color mixed with a lighter gray, there was a lot of tiling, it was large and spread out. It was all very warm and vibrant. He could smell the mint and lavender from the garden he saw peeking from around the house, the property was abundant with olive and almond trees.

Onyx looked around eagerly, unthinkingly reaching back and grasping blindly for Jamie's hand. It was beautiful, he couldn't wait to see inside. The entire thing was just so, so warm and inviting, and already it just felt like home. Onyx looked back to Jamie with teary eyes and a shaky smile. "Show me around?" He asked, taking a step back towards his husband.

Jamie smiled at Onyx as he watched the man take in the home they had built. He had of course seen the progress of it, but Onyx hadn't seen it since they'd first gone to see it. The man nodded, taking his hand, "Yeah, I've something to show you inside," he said, guiding the man to the door, and then offering his arms to Onyx to carry him through the threshold of the door. Since that was what they were supposed to do. He wanted to do this properly as he'd always seen in the movies and tv shows, the muggle things. The even magical things.

Onyx giggled as Jamie took his hand, following him eagerly. He was busy looking around at everything, not noticing they were at the door until they stopped. He almost bumped into Jamie, looking up to his husband then. Onyx's confusion only lasted for a brief second, quickly realizing what Jamie wanted to do. Onyx giggled happily and let his husband lift him up into his arms. He giggled happily, wrapping his arms around Jamie's neck. One hand tangled in the Frenchman's hair. Onyx focused on peppering a long line of kisses over every inch of skin he could reach, smothering his husband in love and affection as Jamie carried him into their home.

Jamie carried Onyx into their home he smiled fondly at all of the kisses that he peppered on him. He didn't immediately put Onyx down when they'd crossed the threshold. instead just kept holding him as they stepped into the airy lobby area. There was a staircase to one side, and plenty of warm colours on the walls, their art, pictures and everything else lined the hall. He then looked at him. "Close your eyes," he told him, he wanted him to go to the music room blind and then be surprised by it. He wanted him to enjoy it and then he would show him the rest of the house, but it would start there.

Onyx was eagerly looking around as they stepped into the foyer. He was in love with it already. It was so open and warm and he loved that there were pictures of them everywhere. He giggled as Jamie told him to close his eyes. "Hold on, hold on," He pulled out the little camera he kept stashed on him. His uncle had taught Onyx two major things growing up- how to stash a camera, and how to recognize a scrapbook moment.

Onyx immediately pressed a giant kiss to Jamie's cheek, giggling and nuzzling his nose into Jamie's cheek. He wasn't sure how great of a picture it was, but he was satisfied with it. Slipping the camera away again, he nuzzled down in Jamie's neck, shutting his eyes as instructed and burrowing closer. "Okay all shut," He announced, burrowing down happily in Jamie's arms.

Jamie was glad that Onux had thought of this in the moment that he did. He looked to the camera but was immediately close to Onyx and leaning into what he was doing. He then nodded and let himself be the blindfold for Onyx. "Okay we're going downstairs so, I'll say step until we're down, but trust me baby, I won't let you fall," Jamie began guiding him away from the main hall and through a door and down some steps. The music room was split into a few areas, one where he could record, one with lost of instruments and places to practice and slightly empty space too in case he wanted to dance. He knew Onyx would probably want to make changes to it, make it suit him more and do more with the spells that he had. Jamie then stopped, and leaned in, "Surprise baby," he said, using that as the invitation for Onyx to look.

Onyx agreed easily, holding onto Jamie and letting his husband lead him away and down a set of stairs. Onyx wasn't worried at all, having complete faith that his Jamie would keep him safe. Onyx grew more curious the more they moved. Underground? He didn't remember them discussing a basement. Was it a wine cellar? That seemed off to him, they didn't usually drink wine. At least, nowhere near enough for them to need a cellar.

He pulled away from Jamie's neck, smiling up at his husband before peeking at where they were. Onyx's heart immediately jumped into his throat. "Jamie!" Onyx squeaked, breaking away and running around the room. He felt like a little kid on Christmas, touching every piece of equipment. He had never even considered having his own studio like this, he had honestly thought they'd just have a room for him to store his instruments.

Onyx rushed from piece to piece, examining all of the instruments and aspects of the room for longer than he meant to, murmuring and freaking out to himself. It was all top of the line, gorgeous. He snapped out of it abruptly, standing up and rushing back to his husband. "Mon chiot," Onyx purred, throwing his arms around his husband and giggling excitedly.

Jamie knew the reaction he'd get from Onyx would be a genuine and amazing one. He loved his husband and wanted him to have the world, and between them it wasn't like money was that much of an object. So why not make sure that Onyx had a space to do exactly what he loved. He knew he'd hardly be able to fit a whole quidditch pitch, but he could go practice with his team. "Yeah, now you have no excuse to do that course," he told him fondly. "The walls are protected by magic, so no sound will get out at all, unless you want it to," he told him. He caught Onyx in his arms and help him tightly. "I want to give you the world,"

Onyx had almost forgotten about his college aspirations. He giggled gently and shook his head. "After our wedding. And after our honeymoon," He reached up, brushing Jamie's hair from his eyes. He had plenty of uses for a soundproof room. He burrowed into his husband, purring loudly and savoring the closeness. "You are my world," he replied tenderly, pulling back just enough to catch Jamie's lips with his own.

A few hours passed, and Onyx was comfortably warm in bed. He stirred as a breeze blew in an open window, shifting to curl closer against Jamie. Onyx was still half asleep, too comfortable after their impromptu nap to want to move much. He purred softly, his thumb twitching absently against Jamie's ribs.

Jamie knew there were a lot of things that they wanted to get to, but Jamie didn’t want his love to forget about his passion and his desire to learn. The man pulled him in and smiled softly, returning the kiss. They had finished the tour of the house, and given all the work that had gone into it and this that day, they had taken a short nap in the bed. The house was wonderful, it was so easy to sleep. He was sure that there would be some things so solve as they became apparent, but he knew that would come with time. This was likely their forever home, and there would be time to do what they wanted. He’d woken up before Onyx had, and was staring up at the ceiling of their new room, listening to the soft crashing of little waves on the beach at the bottom of their house. He heard Onyx purr and turned to look at him and gave a little smile at him. He leaned in and lightly kissed the top of his head. ”You awake baby?” he asked softly.

Onyx purred a little louder as Jamie spoke, stretching and nuzzling in closer. "No," he grumbled, still under enough that he could fall back asleep quickly if left alone. In the beat of silence that followed, his awareness dipped, and he unintentionally snored a bit. Probably a result from the new angle of his head on Jamie's shoulder. The sound was so loud and so sudden that Onyx startled awake, snorting a little and lifting his head up. "Wha-?" He blinked bleary blue eyes- why was it so bright? And ran a hand through his messy ebony hair, pursing his lips a little at the dryness of his mouth. Onyx felt out of it, like he'd woken much too soon from a deep sleep. He squinted at the room, confusion on his face. "Where are we?" He slurred a bit, looking to Jamie with his nose scrunched up. It was all unfamiliar, and Onyx was too tired and too confused to place the new surroundings.

Jamie couldn't help but fondly laugh at his husband as he moved in closer and then just laugh lightly watching him with a little. He saw the confusion in his eyes and reached to lightly touch the side of his face. "We're home baby, our new forever home," he told him. He knew it would take a little getting used to, waking up in this new location but he was looking forward to every morning waking up to his husband in this house. "Moving is very tiring,"
