After getting ready in the student lounge with Jordie, Aerin walked with him to the yule ball, her cane in one of her hands. She could already hear the music coming from the great hall, it was lovely. The two weren’t late at all, in fact they had made it just in time for Professor Alicastell’s welcoming speech. She wondered what the gifts under the tree had, surely it couldn’t cater to all of the students’ likes. It was most probably christmas cookies or something. Speaking of food, she could smell the nutmeg-ey warm scent of christmas wafting around in the room, that was most probably coming from the food table. “Let’s go get food first.” Aerin said to Jordie.

@Jordan Harris

Jordie was excited for the dance, humming happily as he escorted Aerin to the ball. The speech was fantastic, the Great Hall was beautiful, and everything smelled amazing. He chuckled as Aerin seemed to mirror his thoughts, steering her gently towards the snack tables. "Sure! Everything smells amazing. What snacks do you like?" He asked, looking around to see what he wanted and ready to get her some snacks if she wanted, too.

Aerin could smell a lot of gingerbread, chocolate, peppermint and custard as she and Jordie walked towards the snack table. She sighed and let the scent of food waft over her. “Huh? Oh, um. I like custard and fruit, and rice cake” She didn’t know if the yule ball had rice cake but she said the last bit anyways.

Jordie nodded, looking around and getting a few plates together. "Okay, I've got some pumpkin custard, some cookies, I don't see any fruit or rice though, but there is some fruit cake?" He offered, looking to the drinks. "Do you want anything to drink?" He asked, looking over to her.

Saira walked in did a flip and then disappeared into the crowd
(Wrong acc sorry)

Aerin chuckled at Jordie looking for rice. “Rice cake isn’t really rice. It’s like a chewy Korean thing made of rice flour.” She explained, it was odd trying to explain a food so common in Korea to someone outside of her culture. She reached for what she assumed was a pumpkin custard and took a bug bite. “Yeah, do they have tea?” She asked.

Jordie listened to Aerin, looking at her in surprise. "Wow, really? That's cool!" He looked around the drinks. "I don't see any tea, there's pumpkin juice, hot chocolate, and I think that's eggnog, but no tea," He looked over. "Would you like some hot chocolate instead?"

The pumpkin custard was pretty good, Aerin had finished it before responding. Aerin thought for awhile, "I'll get.. eggnog." She decided, as not having tried it before. While it was pretty common in Canada during the Christmastime, she was never there for Christmas, nor did her family really celebrate it.

Jordan nodded, pouring her a glass before gathering the plate of treats and the cups. He held out an elbow for Aerin, smiling. "Let's go sit down, you can take my elbow, after we eat we can go dance." He offered, smiling brightly. He was already enjoying himself.
