Isaiah's first weeks at hogwarts had turned out to be pretty good so far. He had been excited to be sorted into gryffindor, had made quite a couple of friends so far and felt like things were going swimmingly. Everything asides from classes which were not his cup of tea. It wasn't a secret he didn't like reading, would always try his best to not have to touch any sort of books. Back at home, however, he somehow always managed to get away with it just fine. Perhaps that had been the advantage of having his dad as a teacher because at least he had known there were better ways to teach him than to have him study from a book, more interactive, practical ways without actually practicing magic at home when that was not allowed. Here, however, he didn't have that luxury. He was still going to try and get away with touching as little books as he could, he just needed to pass his classes in some way. He didn't need O's, just needed to pass and everything would be good. For now though he had wanted to something a little bit more fun so he had taken his guitar and made his way towards the entrance hall. If there was one place in the castle plenty of people passed each day he figured it was this. Zay sat down against one of the walls of the hall, getting comfortable with his guitar and started softly strumming, mumbling funny little songs he came up with about students that passed him by. He was loud enough for people who directly passed him to hear his words, yet not loud enough for everyone else to do the same.

Tilly was still ecstatic to have earned a spot on the house team. She went out to the pitch to practice almost every day. Today was no different. Holding her worn beater’s bat over her shoulder, the large girl walked through the Entrance Hall on her way out to the Great Lawn.

At the rate Tilly was growing, she could have been mistaken for a fourth year. She barely noticed the younger student playing his guitar. Tilly couldn’t make out the words he was singing and truthfully, her mind was on crushing iron.

As a Poltergeist, Vex truly enjoyed the kind of chaos he could create simply by showing up at places. For him, it was all about the experience of simply being around a mess - whatever mess he could create in as little effort as possible. Of course one should never accuse the non-being of not putting in effort, how offensive! After the success of the feast, Vex had gone away to plan his next game. After all, games were his absolute favourite thing to do in the castle and since he couldn't get his throne back from the Usurper, he would settle for making an absolute mess in the hall. It wasn't exactly like he had to clean it up anyway - not when he could find others to blame it on...
Like ickle firsties and bitty tweens. What fun!
The sound of the music had drawn the poltergeist to the centre, incorporeal and watching with rapt attention as the pair - he didn't care who they were - he was waiting for his moment to let the fun begin.

Isaiah had been quite enjoying himself, watching other students pass him by as he softly strummed his guitar and coming up with songs about them on the go. Although songs might be a big word in this case, tunes being more like it. Which was exactly what they were. Short, silly little tunes about others, students who caught his eye or who seemed like they could use cheering up. One of the next kids that passed him looked pretty content and the way she had swung her bat over he shoulder was enough for him to softly sing a tune about her. "Hufflepuff girl with a beater bat, going out for practice would you look at that." Zay tried not to laugh at how useless the tune was but that was basically the whole point of it. Looking around, strumming his guitar and softly singing tunes about whatever it was he noticed about people. With the amount of students that passed him he was sure he'd be able to spend some time down in the hall, doing what he was doing, before he'd eventually start getting bored.

Hufflepuff girl with a beater bat, going out for practice would you look at that. It took Tilly a moment to realize the boy was singing about her. She blushed and instinctively tried to bring her shoulders in, making herself a little smaller; she wasn’t used to the attention. But the thing about Tilly was that she and the word small did not go together.

She turned awkwardly and gave the boy an embarrassed wave. She had to admit he was pretty good at playing the guitar and singing for that matter. And the lyrics he came up with could have been much worse. Of course, she didn’t notice the poltergeist.
