Open Y36 End Of Year Feast

Sawyer felt like his first year had been awfully busy, but at the same time he wasn't even really sure what he'd spent all year doing. It was odd to walk back into the hall knowing it would be the last time for awhile, and despite the slight disappointment that Ravenclaw hadn't managed a last minute victory, he found he was eager for all the parties and feasts to be over so he and Theia could get home already. He'd enjoyed his first year, for sure, and he probably wouldn't admit it to his family, but he'd been getting more and more homesick as the year went on and was grateful the holidays were nearly here. "So that's you next year, right?" Sawyer said with a grin, nudging Beckett as Minnie Calida was declared top points winner by quite a margin. Sawyer knew he didn't have a chance at something like that, but he wouldn't be too surprised to hear Beckett's name called out sometime soon. The feast started not long after that and Sawyer tucked it, glancing over to check on Theia at the Slytherin table, pleased they'd be on a train home soon. @Beckett Harrington

Vader was in amongst the rest of the gryffindors pretty eager for the end of the semester. He had surprised himself by enjoying the year without Ava, he had missed her dearly and had really felt her absence but perhaps it was due to how well other elements had gone that it felt a little less lonely. He was hoping she would come back for the their final year so that they could finish school together. It would be too odd to graduate without her. Vader looked up at the headmistress as she began speaking, he knew that gryffindor had won and applauded loudly for his house. He knew that house points were a little silly but it was difficult to not feel proud of his house for having managed to win. It was nice, they’d won twice in a row. It might’ve been cool if they’d also won the quidditch cup but it was fair to be beaten to it by Slytheriin. He clapped along with people as they announced who had managed to to get the top points, he was always very impressed by those people. Finally though they were able to eat and he had to hope that nothing would disturb this meal like it had at the beginning of the year.

Aonghas was looking forward to the break, though breaks for him didn’t have much importance and weren’t particularly fun for him, he couldn’t help but be at least a little keen for a break from school. The OWL exams had been tricky and though he was sure he’d done well enough to pass he was also rather pleased that those would be the last hard exams he would do. He was sure that the ones in the next year would be easy enough and he wouldn’t bother with the NEWTs. He applauded for Gryffindor house, he was sure they’d worked plenty hard for that. He then applauded too for top points, unsurprised that the top points for Hufflepuff was Elliot. He didn’t know how the other guy managed it, or wanted to manage it. It was just a whole lot. He glanced towards Katia at the ravenclaw house table and flashed a quick smile as food appeared and he began tucking in.

Tilly thought it was too bad that Hufflepuff had not won either the House Cup or the Quidditch Cup this year. However, it wasn’t going to keep her from trying hard next year or enjoying the end of year feast. She reached for a bowl of mashed potatoes and heaped a generous serving onto her plate, topping it off with a spoon of gravy.

Tilly nudged @Rosemarie Chatwin. “I bet that will be you next year. Top points earner!” She grinned and added a roll and some meat to her plate. Conveniently, she forgot to add vegetables. Rose impressed her with how she put so much effort into all of her classes, even if she had a tough time with some of the professors. Tilly herself had scraped by with an A, an E, and an O this term; much better than the beginning of the year with her two Ps. Her Mum and Dad had been a bit ornery with her about that, so she was hoping they were more pleased with her now. Or perhaps they would be too busy to care about Tilly’s grades with the new baby coming any day now.

Cyzarine had managed to do as well as she could in her OWLs, she had gotten her best grade in charms and while she didn’t have to get a perfect grade in charms she was rather proud of herself for managing it. It was just good to know that she was actually good at charms. She was rather looking forward to the next year, she’d have the chance to lead the Heta Omega club and she was already thinking about what sorts of events she could host with them. She was looking forward to that new opportunity in front of her. She knew it would be rather fun. SHe needed to pick some co-leaders and everything but there would be time for that. The teen glanced towards the head mistress as she got started, declaring another gryffindor victory to which Cyzarine cheered loudly, so pleased for her own house and she applauded loudly for all of the people who had managed to get top points, she had never managed it and so was generally impressed by those that did. She knew she just didn’t have the dedication for it. But she was proud of those that did. With that she just began tucking into the meal.

Minnie had been working very hard this semester, once the quidditch season was over, she had thrown herself into her work, repurposing her whole schedule to be able to put in the work necessary. She had so many classes to do and this year was important. Her parents were expecting so much from her. She knew that beyond her achieving better than highly in her exams, which would show that she was capable of good grades and being quidditch captain, that they wanted her to be prefect. Follow the exact same path as her mother once had. She had worked hard because she needed to be perfect, didn’t want anything less than that, but she also knew that if she didn’t have good grades she wouldn’t be good enough for it likely. Minnie knew it was out of her hands, and she hoped that her parents would be okay if she didn’t get it, but she had to do her best to improve her chances for it. She was a little surprised after applauding for Gryffindor house when it turned out that she had gotten top points both for her house and for the whole school. She felt herself blush lightly at the headmistress's words and at the applause, but thankfully things moved on and she could just focus on food.

Padme was looking forward to the break, she was looking forward to being able to just work for a little while. It was going to be good, she hadn’t really managed to get into much when she had originally been working there over the christmas break, but now, now she would have plenty of time and she would be more than able to be a barista. She was looking forward to it, hopeful that it would be good. It would be busy work, things to do during the break rather than just sit around bored out of her mind. She was looking forward to the extra money it would give her though that wasn’t the primary reason for why she was keen on it. But for now she had to just focus on the headmistress. She didn’t much care about the house cup or the top points but she applauded politely for everyone but was glad when they finally got to the eating part.

Daintree knew he would have a busy holiday, where before he might’ve turned down opportunities to spend time with his friends, with them all being a bit weird with him last time he figured it was about time that he let nit go and focus on magic and that part of his life. He had a busy break already with plans to take Jenna out for her birthday and to go spend time with her in australia. He didn’t tend to travel over the break - mostly too lazy too - but he was looking forward to this opportunity to travel a bit and experience different things and it would be nice to spend the time with Jenna. He glanced at the headmistress as she spoke before also then glancing towards his own head of house watching the man’s reaction to them not getting the cup. He couldn’t really believe that even if they met all the criteria that the professor would ever allow them a trampoline, but he doubted they’d get it at all. He applauded but was more happy when that part was over.

Seraphina didn't understand why students were required to be at these ceremonies and show "school pride." She didn't have friends in Gryffindor. She didn't have friends in general and could really care less if they had won so many points because they just did what was expected of them. She was sat at the end of the Gryffindor tables and listened to the speeches passively while picking her pink nail polish off, making a small pile on the table. When she finished, she finished, she brushed it off towards the student sitting next to her and smirked. She filled her plate with some salad and potatoes and ate quietly while the hall filled with students gabbing and laughing. She just wanted to go back up to her dorm.

Ajaccio was already packed, though they all left at the same time, he didn’t want to waste any time and end up delaying things in the slightest. So he was ready, ready to leave at a moments notice. Which in theory he was half going to. The teen was sitting amongst fellow ravenclaws as the headmistress began speaking, giving them the information on who won - he applauded heartily for his gryffindor friends and classmates. He then applauded for all the top points. He only knew who the ravenclaw top points were and not the rest. He was pretty happy when they finally got to eating, it just meant that he was one step closer to going on holiday and that was always the most fun that he could have. He was so looking forward to that.

Leia was pretty proud of herself, she had set herself the goal of straight O’s and had managed it. She wasn’t sure how subtle about it she had been but she had managed it and that was something at least. SHe’d also managed to win at dueling which had definitely made her feel better about it. She’d overall had a good year. She could admit she had less friends than she might’ve wanted but that wasn’t a huge deal to her. SHe looked to the head mistress and applauded for Gryffindor, eventual without the incentive of a trampoline Leia was quite keen for slytherin to hopefully win next year. She thought it would be about time that they did win. They were owed and deserved it. The slytherin was a little disappointed she hadn’t won top points. But she applauded for who had. They were clearly doing more than she was and she’d have to try harder if she was going to do better next time. She was looking forward to heading home too, but knew with both of her siblings working it would be a bit boring.

Lumio knew houses were so silly, that they meant little and would mean nothing as soon as they left again. But he knew Gryffindor had won again and he was so excited to celebrate that. It was just so fun that they would be able to celebrate another gryffindor victory. He was somewhat hopeful that Gryffindor would win for every year that he was at the school but he also knew that that would be a little bad. Other houses too should win, but he wanted Gryffindor to always be winners. The gryffindor applauded and cheered loudly as the headmistress announced them winners. He applauded for the top points too, but no where near as loudly as he had for just gryffindor as a whole. It was so cool to win, it was just so much fun. He would be heading home having had another really great year at school. Looking forward to another one.

Juniper was sitting beside her sitting, feeling less awkward than Adorah but still a little tense. She was indifferent about the end of the school year. She had actually found a few things she enjoyed. She had received good grades in her Divination course, and she had taken part in the dueling tournament. Even though it wasn't as successful as she had hoped, she still had fun in the long run. She pulled a sleeve of crackers out of her purse and sneakily nibbled as the highest point winners were announced and everyone celebrated Gryffindor. She was disheartened that Ravenclaw didn't win, but then again, she hadn't contributed much to the points other than participating in the duelling torunament. She was excited when they were finally allowed to eat and grabbed some turkey along with Adorah as well as asparagus. She was looking forward to seeing her parents and taking a break from school, but she also couldn't wait to get back.

Hunter entered the Great Hall and saw the room decorated with red and gold decorations. He immediately knew that Gryffindor had won and couldn't help but feel a little disappointed but also a little happy, that was Emmaline and Harper's house so they would probably be really happy.

The Headmistress announced the obvious win of the lion house and even though he didn't felt like it, he applauded showing happiness for both of the girls. Next year they would be clapping for him, he would surely help his house win the house cup next year. He was incredibly surprised when Emmaline was nominated as the person in Gryffindor who won the most points. He wasn't surprised, she seemed really smart and she took tons of notes in astronomy so he guessed that it was more than fair that she had won a special nomination. He cheered loudly for her but he wasn't sure if the girl heard him because of all the other students noise.

With a whole year done, Liusaidh was left to reflect on and a lot to think about for the next year. The slytherin had worked hard to be able to get the trampoline on the plate but now that it had conditions and that she was never going to bother towards perhaps it was time to move on. She didn’t want to get stuck having to do boring things just so the whole house could get a trampoline. That sounded boring. Real, real boring. Liusaidh rolled her eyes at the headmistresses words, not caring about who had won- it wasn’t slytherin - so it didn’t matter. She didn’t care who’d won top points, it wasn’t her and wasn’t going to be her ever. She would hate for her greatest achievement at school to be something as lame as top points. She would rather lose points. The girl was happy when all that was over, at least she could just eat and look forward to going home.

willow entered the great hall for the end of year feast. she had had one of her butterbeers before and she could feel the warmth of it. she smiled when she saw the hall set out in warm welcoming reds and golds. She would end the year with victory. she Cheered loudly as her house was anounced the winner of the house cup. Woo. Go Go Gryffindor" she cheered as professor kingsley took the cup. then at the snouncements of the point winners she clapped for each of them. it wasnt a supprise that a ravenclaw won. she didnt know any of the winners. there had been a point after halloween when she thought that she had a chance of winning but she had given that thought up ages ago. as the headmistress reminded them not to use magic at home she chuckled. 'yeah it's great to be seventeen" she whispered. being born in august she was one of the youngest in her year, still seventeen for almost two more months. as the feast started she filled her plate with all of her favourite foods. this was somethign she was going to miss. her parents cooking while it did the job, it was helthy and filling, and it wasn't bad certainly wasn't as good as the school food so tonight she would eat until she was full then keep eating and enjoy every mouthfull.

While Brooke's first year had gone rather well, all things considered, but she was already tallying up ways she could do better next year. She was disappointed she hadn't done better with her classes, knowing her lower grade in Flying had likely be her downfall. It was some comfort that Ivy or Delilah also hadn't managed to make a name for themselves either, but she knew she'd have to step it up next year since clearly the other students in her year were already proving to be more academically inclined than she'd first expected. Her parents likely wouldn't be impressed when she came home with not much else to show beyond some O's, and Brooke had to admit sometimes she understood why Sydney refused to bother with things like doing well in school. But Brooke would rather face their indifference at her 'normal' success than their outrage at her behavior.

She listened politely as Professor Alicastell finished up with the house cup and points awards, glancing at her sister as the school applauded and the feast proceeded. Brooke dearly wanted to try and improve things with Sydney too next year, though she didn't have high hopes that would be an easy task. But when had she backed down for a challenge?

Sitting at the Slytherin table, chin in had, Sydney did her best to tune out the rabble around her. Of course Gryffindor would have to win and subject them to another end of year feast with all their obnoxious hollering. She didn't care a bit about the house cup or points, it was all a elaborate illusion to keep students in line and vying for a made up currency. While she couldn't wait for the feast to hurry up and end, she typically wasn't particularly looking forward to going back home and having to spend the next several weeks under her parents' thumb again. Hogwarts had been her escape in that regard until this year at least. Now with Brooke at school she didn't even have that. Grimly, Sydney spared a moment to glower at her plate as Professor Alicastell recited her same trite warning about underage magic before they were finally allowed to eat and then hopefully leave.

Emori almost couldn’t believe that her first year at Hogwarts was already over. She thought she had so much to do still, so many places to explore and she felt as though she hadn’t done much of it at all. She had studied hard, that was certain, and she had met plenty awesome people. Making friends was really her speciality, or what she liked to think was what she was good at the most. A year ago, Em never would have thought that time flew by this quickly at Hogwarts, but she was at least content that she’d managed to do most, if not all, of the things on her list. Yes, she had a list. Which seemed to expand as time went on. The Slytherin was looking forward to the end-of-year feast - so much food!! She sat next to her friend @Penny Wills and a few of her other housemates, and listened as the headmistress gave her speech. She clapped for everyone who got top points earner for their house, and rolled her eyes slightly that she hadn’t been able to be that awesome this year. She really wanted to be in that position and know what it felt like to be recognised. Next year, she told herself. Next year she was going to make sure to work even harder. Once the headmistress was finished, followed by the head girl and boy’s speeches, which were very touching, the feast appeared on the tables and Emori’s eyes widened. "The amount of food in this place...it never gets old," she breathed, nudging Penny before she tucked in.

James was disappointed Slytherin hadn't managed to win the house cup, Gryffindor had seemed to blow everyone out of the park in that department. James had had a fun year but he was determined his second would be even better, he wanted to branch out and meet more people, maybe even try out for Quidditch, there were plenty of things he could do to make his second year even better than his first but for now he wanted to focus on the last feast of the year and enjoy the day with his friends before going home for the holidays.
