Vader had been looking out for Ava, they’d spent time over the holidays but since coming to hogwarts he hadn’t had a whole lot of time to actually spend with her when the semester had started up again, but he was looking out for her whenever he had the time to. He liked the girl a lot, they had spent some good times together in the past and he did feel bad that he hadn’t spent that much time with her yet during this semester. The gryffindor was making his way to the accio room from the gryffindor dorm. He had a small smile on his face as he did so. He had a few plans and some pictures to develop later in the day. It was really all he had formally planned for the day, largely because he didn’t want to spend too much limited and without the idea to spend time elsewhere, he’d spent all of his time stressing about school. He was too young to be so stressed about stuff. He needed to connect with some friends. So, he decided to try to find one, making a point of wondering to different places and seeing if he could see one. Eventually, and in the last room he expected to see or find anyone - the arts room - he saw Ava. The boy’s face broken into a large smile, ”Ava! hey!” from what he could tell she had a lego set. He moved closer and kept his smile on her, ”It’s good to see you! What are you doing?”

Ava had been in the arts room all morning, hard at work. She had a huge box next to her. The wingardium leviosa charm had been really handy for getting it down here. How her Papa had gotten all of these she had no idea. There were loads of Lego sets there- it might take her forever to get them all together. She knew she would need help. She'd been here all morning and she only had this set halfway done.

She sat back, sighing as she looked at the castle. This was taking forever. . She sighed, her shoulders slumping. This wasn't as fun by herself. She wished Vader was here.

Then, as if she had summoned him by thinking of him, she heard him speak. "Vader!" She laughed, hopping to her feet. She ran over to him and hugged him before grabbing his hand and pulling him over to the Legos. "Look what Papa sent me!" She chirped happily.

Vader was just able to move his arms out as she greeted him with a warm hug. He put his arms around her too and hugged. Oh boy was he happy to see her. Vader pulled away just as she dragged him over to what she was doing, which was playing with an incredible looking lego set, "WOW!" he exclaimed happily. It looked so cool, Ava's dad was the best! All of the lego in his house was stuff you couldn't really play with any more. He put his bag with the camera in it carefully and just looked at what she'd been building, "That is so cool!" he sat down in front of it, it was huge and he definitely wanted to help out with it, it might actually be necessary for him to do so. He was so pleased that he'd thought to look in this room. He looked at it as he took a seat on the floor in front of it. "Can I help?" the boy didn't just want to get started unless this was something that only Ava wanted to do alone, he liked her and they got along and that made him occasionally a little cautious about it. It was good if they could spend the time together making it, but he would also just as happily watch her make it and maybe take some of pictures of that too.

Ava giggled as Vader ogled over the legos. "Isn't it? I have a whole box of cool Lego sets!" She motioned to the box with a dramatic wave. "It'll take us all year I bet!" She giggled again, settling into her seat and starting to work on the castle again. Of course, that was until Vader asked if he could help. She slowly raised her head over the top of the castle to narrow her eyes at him. "Help? Are you crazy?" She tossed a lego at his head. "Why are you even asking silly?" She stuck her tongue out at him. "Get to work!" She chirped happily.

Ava set back to work, brushing her hair out of her eyes. "Oooh that reminds me, I was thinking. Do you have a middle name?" She asked her friend. She understood his aversion to his name even if she didn't agree with it.

Vader nodded at her, she had very cool lego. He hadn’t even thought to bring lego to school with him when he had first come, and none of the ones that he could’ve had wouldn’t been interesting enough. He also wondered why magical people didn’t have their own version, surely they should have, it would be a good product it could be done by magic too, for the adults and stuff. But, for now they just had the normal muggle version. His own nervousness about touching it and helping out were squashed when the girl encouraged him to get started and with an excited nod he reached out and began working on it. He was a little more focused on his work until Ava broke the silence and spoke again, He wondered why she wanted to know it, but unlike his first name his middle name was aggressively normal, ”It’s Timothy,” the gryffindor said in reply with a perkiness to his voice that wouldn’t exist in any other situation when it came to his name. Oh he longed for the two names he had to be switched, but of course he wouldn’t be so lucky with it. ”Do you have one?” he asked her, naturally wanting to return the question to her and wanting to learn more about his friend, someone whom he really appreciated the company of.

Ava thought over Vader's answer a moment. She nearly missed his question, barely catching it. "Hm? Oh, Helene." She peeked over the castle again, her blue eyes curious. "Vader, you know I have no problem with your name. But I have noticed you don't like it. I'm just curious, but if it really bothers you so much, why don't you just go by your middle name? I could call you Timmy if you wanted." She tilted her head to the side, chattering through her thoughts as she always did. "I knew a girl once who hated that her name was Cory because she said it was a boys name and her last names was Jones, which she thought was really boyish too, so she just had everyone call her Judith or Judy for short. No one even knew her name was Cory unless an adult said it."

Ava ducked down and scooted around the castle so she was sitting next to Vader. "We're friends, right? You don't complain about my weird name or that I talk too much or anything. If it would make you feel better I'll help convince everyone to call you Tim instead." She offered, her blue eyes bright as she began to plan out how she could do it.

Vader smiled at her when she said her middle name was Helene, much like his middle name it was perhaps the more normal part of her name. He was a little engrossed in what he was doing with the lego that he nearly missed what she was saying, but he looked up at her. He was a little worried about what she was saying, and he froze on the spot listening along as she asked if maybe she could call him by his middle name rather than his first. He had never really considered it. His parents had always been quite firm on calling him Vader, and every teacher had always called him Vader and the people around him had never really asked about it, "No ever really asked before," he ended up saying, "Teachers always called me Vader, as did my parents and I didn't....." he wasn't sure if he should mention the other kids in his class, "I didn't have any friends before hogwarts so no one ever asked me," the boy finished, shrugging a little. He was surprised that she offered to call him Tim, they were friends and she actually wanted to avoid using his name if he didn't want it. "Okay, yeah, you can call me Tim!"

Ava giggled and bumped Vader's arms. "Well, you have friends now." She smiled brightly. "Or at least you have me. You can be Tim and I'll be Helene." She clapped her hands together happily and set back to work on the legos. "Where should we put these when we're done with them? There are so many of them..." She pouted a moment as she thought. "Ooooh, you know what? There's this really big tree in my back yard. We could be a tree house! Over break maybe?" She giggled at the thought of it.

"We could put a hammock in, and some curtains, and shelves and tables for all our legos, and a great big comfy carpet!" Her eyes lit up as she thought about it. "What do you think, Vaaaa- Timmy?" She giggled at her slip-up. That would take some getting used to.

Vader smiled at Ava widely, and nodded as she said he could call her by her middle name. Helene! He liked that a lot, ”Okay Helene, might take some getting used to,” he was vaguely staring at her with a fond expression as she continued speaking, working a little on the lego as he did so. He liked Ava a lot, she was always so nice to him, and they spent a lot of time together. He always felt warmed by her words and she was always welcoming him into her life and the many different aspects of it. He felt a nod as she asked him a question, inviting him around to hers during the break. ”I’d like that,” he replied with an excited nod. He ignored that she had slipped up a little on his name, he could admit it would take some getting used to. That he would probably also slip up a lot. But that would be okay, ”Helene,” he said purposefully with a grin, ”Do you want to come to the Yuleball with me?” the boy asked her. He knew that it was coming up and she was a good friend, and he would be very excited and happy to spend the time with her at such an event. It would be good. He didn’t know if he wanted to be her boyfriend or anything like that, he didn’t know if he felt that way about her, but he knew that they would have a good time together at the ball if they went together, ”I usually have to work on Accio stuff for it, but it could be nice?” he tried to add, hoping that would entice her a little more to it.

Ava giggled as Vader- er, Tim, called her Helene. He was right, it would take some getting used to. "We'll have to cross out our names when yearbooks come out and put in the proper ones." She chattered happily. "That way we can remember each other when we're old and you're a famous photographer and I travel the world with my paintings! Ooh maybe we won't have to remember each other, we could see each other at Galas and art shows and whatever else is related to that," She giggled at the thought, though she paused when Vader turned to her with a serious expression. She paused, turning to look at him.

"Tim," She attempted to sound just as serious as he was. Her eyes widened as he asked her to the Yule Ball. He continued on, saying he usually had to do Accio stuff for it. "Oooh!" She clapped her hands together, her blue eyes sparkling. "That would be fun! Yeah! We can get drinks and you can take pictures and I'll draw pictures and it'll be fun!" She giggled. "I can ask Papa for a dress again this year." She forgot the legos as she began thinking about it.
