Open after Onyx and Jacob have had a bit of back and forth
Boredom wasn't a good thing for a twelve year boy, especially not a twelve year old Gryffindor boy. He had gone down to the pitch and flown around for a bit, but with the season now over and practices mostly done for the year, Jacob didn't have the same sense of urgency he usually did.

So he stopped after a while and headed to the stands, finding an opening to walk under them and amusing himself that way, finding things that must have fallen out of people's pockets. A galleon here, a lollipop of some kind that he had been tempted to try but then eventually decided against, a library book. It was a pretty interesting place.

Kira was going to kill him. Onyx hurried out to the Quidditch Pitch. The last place he remembered having her book was in the stands when he'd been watching Sapph practice. If he didn't find the blasted thing he was sure he would see a side of Kira he hadn't before, and it wouldn't be pretty. He hurried up into the stands, cussing quietly the entire time. How could he be so stupid?

In his haste, Onyx tripped, lost his balance, and toppled back down the set of stairs he'd just darted up. He lay at the bottom, a little dazed. "Ahhhh crap ow..." He moaned low, rubbing his head. Great, now Kira and Sapphire were going to kill him. Could today get any worse?

When Jacob was engrossed in a task most other things seemed to fall away. So it wasn't until he heard the commotion above him that the Gryffindor even realized someone else was in this area of the pitch. With his heart hammering, Jacob darted out from under the stands and looked up, shielding his eyes against the sun's glare. The stands were built for quidditch and were way up, but if the noise was anything to go by, someone had fallen quite a ways.

Jacob dropped his broom and darted towards the stairs, pausing when he spotted a familiar fall of black hair at the bottom of a set of steps. "Onyx? That you? You ok?" he asked, voice full of alarm. Jacob looked back towards set of steps he had just gone up. wondering if he should run for help or stick by Onyx's side.

Onyx closed his eyes and cursed his luck. Of course Jacob would be here to witness his embarrassment. He sighed, not moving to get up. "Well, if you ignore the Ravenclaw that's going to kill me for losing her book and my sister that's going to kill me for being clumsy, all we have is one extremely sore guy. I'm still strikingly handsome, though, so I should be fine." He teased lightly, unhooking his foot from underneath the final step. "Tell me you didn't get to watch my less than graceful trip back down those stairs." He opened an eye to peek at Jacob. "Though on the bright side, you're cute when you're concerned."

"I'm always cute" Jacob joked as he held out a hand to help the guy up. If he was well enough to tease him, it probably meant he didnt have a concussion or something. At least that's what Jacob believed with his twelve year old knowledge of things. "Nah, you're good. I just heard the noise and left the rest to my imagination" he grinned. The noise had made it sound as if Onyx and a whole bunch of other people had fallen down the steps. "I might be able to help you with that book too. I was under the stands when you fell. It's like a treasure hunt down there. I saw a few books..." he trailed off.

Onyx laughed a little. "Can't argue that. Your bedhead is flawless," He flirted a bit as he took Jacob's hand, letting the boy pull him to his feet. He rubbed his neck, blushing as Jacob went on about his falling. "Well, at least you still get to see me looking crumpled and gorgeous and not like a monkey on drugs." He teased.

Onyx looked up at Jacob with hopeful eyes, too excited to tease the other boy about anything. "Oh seriously? That would be great! Kira might be a sweetheart but I bet she has a temper that would put Sapphy to shame," He chatted idly, hurrying ahead and ducking under the stands.

Jacob furrowed his eyebrows a bit, trying to make sense of what Onyx had just said and then just deciding to leave it alone. He didn't always get his fellow Gryffindor but found him entertaining nevertheless. He didn't know Kira well at all, so he could only assume Onyx was right as he hopped down the final few steps and swung himself under the stands. "I saw a book there, there and I didnt even get that far" he pointed at each, "but I bet there are books there too." He had only just started his exploration really when the noise from above had scared him out. "So, what's so important about this book?" he asked as he used his arms and the beams holding the stands up to propel himself forward and around. He wasn't really helping with the search since he didn't know exactly what Onyx was looking for.

Onyx quickly set to work checking all the spots Jacob pointed out. "I don't know if I said but I borrowed it from Kira Wolf, do you know her? It wasn't a library book, she brought it from home. It was really sweet of her to lend it to me. I can't believe I was such a dunce and lost it," He grimaced, mentally kicking himself for the thousandth time. "It's ridiculous, really. I have to find it. It's the Chronicles of Narnia, the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. Could you help me look? I'd owe you one."

Jacob shook his head. He'd seen her around, mostly with Sapphire and Onyx, but he wouldn't say that he knew her at all. He figured she was pretty hardcore about getting her books back when she loaned them out, but some people were like that. Jacob didnt read much unless it was comics or his textbooks when he was forced to, so he didnt really get the attachment. "I mean I guess I can help" he said, still swinging lazily. This seemed pretty important to Onyx so he would help his friend. He moved to the opposite end and began walking around, looking as he did. "I didn't know you liked to read" he said, keeping up the conversation as he searched.

Onyx smiled a bit as Jacob agreed to help. "Anything you need Kingsley, and I'm yours," He responded, kicking aside a washed out textbook. It was odd how many books were lost down here. Jacob asked him if he liked to read then, to which Onyx shrugged. "A bit, I guess. I was, ah..." He rubbed his neck shyly. "I was only reading this one because Kira said it's Sapph's favorite book. I just... I was wanting to get to know her better, but we clash as often as we get along," he joked lightly. "I let my nerves get the best of me and I try to play it off like I'm this cool, flirty guy that she can admire."

He glanced up at Jacob from under his bangs, glad the other boy wasn't looking at the moment. "You've probably figured out though what rubbish that is though." He turned to look under the stands again, and noticed a familiar looking cover. "Hold on," He told Jacob, jogging over to the book. He bent down to flip it over and let out a relieved sigh. "I got it." He turned to the other boy, holding the tome up in his hand. "Looks like I get to keep that favor," He teased.

Jacob pocketed a sickle he found as he kicked at some items as he helped Onyx search. He listened as he did. It was obvious, to him anyway, that Onyx was taking his relationship with Sapphire pretty seriously. He didnt know if Sapphire realized how good she had it. Not all siblings got along with each other. He didnt much get along with his little sister. Eleanor was a brat and spoiled. But Jacob could also understand why they didn't always get along. At least he thought he did, but he wasn't exactly sure if it was his place to give advice. "I think she's maybe still getting used to the idea of you. You know, of having a brother" he said gently.

"No way!" he protested as Onyx came up with the book. "You said favor for help not for finding it. I was helping!" he exclaimed, running over to snatch the book until he convinced Onyx to stick to his terms.

Onyx bit his lip a bit as Jacob suggested Sapph was still getting used to the idea of him. It slipped his mind sometimes- well, okay, a lot, that she didn't grow up on stories of the long-lost sibling, dreaming of what could have been. Maybe Jacob had a point. Not that he thought Jacob meant to tell him what to do. But Onyx would have to consider the possibility that maybe he was coming on way too strong,

He didn't have time to think about it though, as they quickly fell back into a more easygoing conversation. Onyx laughed as Jacob came running over, glad he was the tall twin. He held the book up, standing on tiptoes to keep it out of Jacob's reach. "Ah ah ah!" He teased, "Can't have everything, can ya your Kingleyness?" He quipped, stepping back a bit and bracing for the impact he saw in his near future.

Jacob grinned before reaching into his pocket for his wand. "Ha! Forgot we have magic? Accio book!" he exclaimed, making the appropriate motions towards the book in Onyx's hand. Jacob was confident he'd get it now. It didn't matter that Onyx was taller than him. If that didn't work, he'd just tackle Onyx and grab it away from him until he agreed to grant Jacob that favor. He didn't have anything in particular in mind, but having a favor in his pocket would be a great thing. He'd get to lord it over Onyx for a while, and then would probably blow it on something silly.

Onyx had forgotten magic. Whenever he and his uncle messed around, it was always old school, no wands. He let out a slight gasp as the book flew out of his hand towards Jacob. "Hey, that's cheating!" He told the other boy with a laugh. He took off quickly after the book, but instead of going for it he went for Jacob instead. He knocked the other boy over, being careful not to hurt him as they fell to the ground. Onyx laughed as they fell, fully intending to let the other boy win if they began to wrestle. The book hit the ground nearby but Onyx wasn't paying attention.

"No it's magic!" he cackled as the book landed into his fingertips. He didn't even get to enjoy his moment as he was soon tackled to the ground, landing on something soft and hopefully not alive. The book was still somehow in his grip, and Jacob tried his best to hang onto it as he caught his breath quickly. He couldnt believe Onyx had actually gone and tackled him. "Ha! Still got it!" he exclaimed as he struggled to get to his feet, his foot sliding through the dirt as it fought for some firmer space.

Onyx perched on top of Jacob happily, laughing loudly. "You can't keep it though, can ya?" He cackled merrily, leaning forward to reach for the book. The action caused his foot to slide out from under him, and with a surprised yelp the boy fell forward. Onyx froze, blue eyes wide, as he came nose to nose with Jacob. Onyx noted absentmindedly how pretty Jacob's eyes were. He also noted that his reaching hand had clasped around Jacob's wrist. Onyx blushed a deep crimson. This could be bad...

Jacob flinched, bracing for impact when he saw and felt Onyx suddenly lurch forward. "Owww, you jerk!" Jacob exclaimed a moment later, his reaction having been delayed by the sudden movement. He didn't really mean it, but in the moment, the word had slipped out. He would blame it on the sudden pain. The hand that had clasped onto his wrist had caused his arm to land on something sharp. "Get off " he muttered as he struggled to move Onyx nicely, wanting a better look at his arm to see if he was bleeding. Taller or not, Jacob knew he probably was a bit stronger because of his quidditch training. It felt like he was bleeding, and he was not a happy camper. Even without seeing it, Jacob could feel his fear rising.

Sure, it would have been nice if Arvel had actually been asked to play a game of Quidditch since joining the team, but he didn't intend to let that stop him practising as often as he could. If anything, it motivated him to train even harder, so that when he did finally get to play his captain would feel bad for not asking him sooner. The guilt of making the team - if only as an alternate - when Analei hadn't was still eating away at him as painfully as it had done the day they'd rushed up to the bulletin board and seen Arvel's name on it and not Analei's; but she hadn't let him quit, and to be honest, he didn't really want to. Quidditch was one of the few things that excited him - and besides, Analei would almost certainly make the team next year.

Arriving at the pitch, Arvel was ready to boost himself up into the air when he saw movement in his peripheral vision. Somebody - maybe more than one person - was underneath the stands. Curious, Arvel crept over, pausing behind a large beam where he could just about see what was going on without being spotted. There was some kind of commotion, and then Arvel couldn't see Jacob any more - only Onyx above him. The Hufflepuff was going to leave, then - until Jacob suddenly called Onyx a jerk. Huh. Who knew Arvel would ever agree with Jacob on something? Suddenly impelled by a mixture of anger and fear, Arvel let his broom fall to the ground and stepped out. "What are you doing?" he asked feebly, barely able to hear himself over the blood ripping through his ears. "Get off him."

Sapphire had been looking for Onyx all morning. She needed to talk to him, though she had no idea how to tell him about her and Mervyn. Or how she would tell Jacob. Her brother needed to be dealt with first, however. She had finally decided to try the Quidditch Pitch. Maybe he was out there with Jacob?

She would've given up and walked away when she saw it was only Arvel there- until he started for the stands. Her curiosity peeked, she followed him, intending to say hello. It was when he seemed to be mad at something that she realized that there was something wrong.

She came up behind him. "Hi Arvel," she greeted cheerily. "What's...?" She froze when she saw what Arvel was upset about. Her blood boiled. She turned to the boy next to her. "Hey, thank you." She told him with a sincere smile. "You're a good guy."

She turned back to the scene in front of her and stormed forward. She grabbed her brother by the neck and hauled him off of Jacob. "Onyx," She hissed, furious and frustrated. She looked to Jacob quickly. "Are you okay?"

Crap. Crap. Crap. Onyx was frozen. What was he supposed to do? Jacob squirmed under him. Onyx let go off his wrist. What was he doing? What had he been doing? All year, he'd been like this. "Jacob, I-I..." He stuttered, jumping a little when he heard another voice telling him to get off. It was quiet, but enough to make Onyx sit up a bit. His mind was still racing as he struggled to get ahold of himself.

He felt a hand on the back of his neck then, and he knew it was over for him. He stumbled to his feet under the furious grip of his sister. Who could blame her? He'd probably hurt Jacob. And over what? Some silly book? He ehuffled awkwardly next to Sapphire, his head hung and his hands in his pockets. He didn't look at anyone there, staring at his shoes.

Jacob only heard the commotion peripherally, the sound muffled as he felt hyper aware of his arm. As soon as it was free, he gave it a look, seeing a small scrape and some dirt but thankfully no blood. He was surprised. It had felt like it was bleeding and he even touched the skin to check but it came away with some dirt he quickly wiped on his pants before looking up. Quite the crowd had assembled. Sapphire had pulled Onyx off of him almost as if she had some giant blood in her and his eyes narrowed slightly as he spotted the other person. It was Arvel. Jacob had been doing his best to ignore the boy, both in the classes they shared and in the halls.

"I'm fiiiiine" he said, a little exasperated by all the unwanted attention. "We were just messing around" he added, holding a hand out so someone could help him get up. He inspected his arm once more and then used it to reach for the book. Grinning, Jacob looked right at Onyx. "Still got your book" he shook it playfully.
