It was the final match of the tournament and the students happened to be second years. She was pleased to see how many were eager to sign up for the tournament, as the interest of students seemed to wane as they got older. She explained the rules to them one final time to make sure they understood, and then stepped off the platform to allow them to begin when they were ready. ​

Please use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.

Diana had never dueled before the start of this tournament, so she was a little surprised to find herself in the final match for her year. She was happy about it too, especially because her sister Phoebe hadn't made it as far in her own year. Finally, Diana had beaten her at something. Sort of. Now if she could win for her entire year, that would make it all the sweeter. She would never let Phoebe forget it. And her opponent wasn't someone she was intimidated by at all. Analei was a boring and quiet studious girl. She had probably made it to the final round on pure luck. Diana smirked before bowing, then started off the duel with her first spell. "Stupefy!"

Analei was proud of herself to have made it so far in the dueling tournament. There was no way she was going to lose now, especially not to Diana. Analei was focused, she felt ready for this. Nothing was going to stop her. She quickly shot up a Protego to protect herself before shooting back her own spell. "Expelliarmus!"

Diana wasn't expecting the duel to be over that quickly, so it wasn't a surprise when Analei blocked her spell. The girl did seem very focused, though. Which might be a problem. Diana decided to use her old strategy of trying to fluster her opponent with her words. She blocked Analei's spell, then taunted, "when you lose to me, at least you'll have something else to bond about with that dork Arvel." She said with a smirk. Before the girl could say anything in return, she shot off a spell. "Rictusempra!"

Analei frowned when Diana blocked her spell, feeling her face flush when she taunted her. The girl was horrible, and Analei had been sad to see Arvel lose to her. But she wasn't going to let her get to her. Analei blocked the spell, never seeing the point in those spells being used in duels. "The best you got, Holland?" Analei asked, before firing off her own spell, "Stupefy!"

Analei seemed angry in response to Diana's words, but it didn't seem to do anything to affect her aim or timing. She huffed when the girl tried to taunt her back, though the attempt was really halfhearted. She didn't even know Analei's last name, which only proved how unimportant she was. "I'll show you the best I've got." She muttered under her breath. "Petrificus Totalus!"

Diana muttered something under her breath, and Analei could barely hear her, but not being able to hear what she said threw her off, as she quickly had to dodge the spell thrown at her. Angry that she had lost focus, Analei felt her cheeks redden. Regaining her balance and step, Analei threw a tripping jinx at Diana.

Diana laughed as she noticed Analei having to dodge her next spell. She was clearly starting to get flustered, and would soon lose. But she was so confident that she didn't notice Analei got her balance back sooner than she had expected, and she was unable to either block or dodge the jinx Analei sent her way. She tripped, holding out both of her hands to catch her fall. As she did, she let go of her wand without thinking. Both her hands landed on the platform as she fell down, but her wand rolled off to the side. It took Diana a few moments to realize what had happened, but when realization struck, her face heated up. She had just lost, because of a tripping jinx. Humiliation washed over her. How had she let this happen?
