It's hard to know what to say at a time like this. I am beyond grateful to all who voted for me, and look forward to speaking with and for you as your Deputy Minister. I also must congratulate Minister Fontaine - I look forward to butting heads with you once more as we work together to lead this country in the right direction.

As we await the results of this election, I want to thank the people of Aotearoa once more for hearing me. Win or lose, all the support I've recieved from the people and my wonderful team shows that much of this nation is ready for a forward-thinking, open, supportive government, and it has been an honour to share that goal with you.

As this election draws to a close, I urge those who have not yet done so to consider voting for a future where people and government work hand in hand, for a brighter future together.
