Professor Spenser stood just inside the door of the classroom, waiting for the students to arrive. He had been in the room for some time, going over his marking.

The students entered right on time and took their seats. "Hello class! I am back to full health so I would like all of you to prepare for taking notes. I will lecture you about a not-so-famous magician, and then you will be assigned an essay on another." He waited until he was sure that everyone was prepared to begin taking notes.

"Okay, today I am going to speak about Morgan La Fey, or also known as 'Morgana'. Morgana was a powerful enchantress of British history, especially gifted in the healing arts. Merlin was her tutor. She was the half-sister of King Arthur, though often they were rivals. Among some of her terrible deeds was stealing King Arthur's sword, Excalibur, and plotting his death.

According to some documents she lived in the Straits of Messina, off Italy. An unusual current in that area often draws phosphorescent creatures from the depths to the surface of the water, creating the impression of strange lights of objects floating above the water. These are called Fata Morgana."

Jonathan stopped and looked around at the students, making sure they were taking notes. "Right, well, I will end the lecture now. For your homework, I'd like you to write an essay on Paracelsus. "A History of Magic" is an excellent source. You can find this book in the Library. Have a great week! Class Dismissed!"
Homework Assignment:

RP: 10
Essay: EC

Write an essay on Paracelsus, a minimum of 100 words. You may RP the lecture or your thoughts on the lecture for extra credit.

[justify]Week three of lessons should not be so bad for the second year Slytherin, but all Erik Metzger wanted to do was sleep and read. He did not need good grades for the classes, so he did not know why he was bothering with the classes. Last year, he did get a lecture from his dad for not trying hard enough. Sighing, he continued forward even though he did not want to. Entering the Potions classroom, Erik found his seat once more and his blue-green eyes looked upon the professor with intensity. He did not know what he was doing here really. He could be off napping. Erik did need to check on his sister though. He was starting to worry about her time here. She was a Gryffindor, same as their uncle. He was a Slytherin, but the bond that they held was like any normal brother and sister. He would be there for her if needed.

The lesson began and they were greeted by the cheerful Professor Spenser. Looking up with his intense eyes about the fact that they were going to be learning about the not as famous magician, it just made him think of muggles and stuff. He got out his parchment, ink and quill out. They were going to be speaking over a woman named Morgan La Fey. He remembered her. The half-sister of Arthur, was it not? Merlin apparently taught her. She was rivals with King Arthur too. That was fairly interesting, but he did not really see someone that plotted someone’s death but did not go through with it. He wondered why that happened. And finally, the lecture was finished and they were free to go. Erik gathered his things and he left the classroom with no plans of doing the homework, immediately anyway. He was lazy after all.

Rhiannon Entered the history of magic classroom. she had anjoyed learning about the famous witches and wizards the previous week although to her madam mim was still the crazy lady off the sword in the stone. She took her usual seat and once seeted took her quill and notebook out of her bag. she varied between pen and quill depending on the class and what she felt like as she wrote better with a pen though she also knew she needed to practice with a quill for exams.
once the class started Rhiannon took notes. morgan La Fey was an nteresting subject she knew a little about her, Aunt brige and Ewan were into arthurian myth. haf way thought the class she had a thought. La Fey. wasnt there a professor La fey. here, the one who had given her a biscuit when she had gotten lost on the way to her first astronomy class. maybe it was a common name in the wizarding world, or maybe there was something more than a coincidence she listened as the professor described a hatural phenoniman and decided if she had time one day she would go and see it.
soon the class was over and Rhiannon noted down the homework and packed up before going up to the pfofessor "thank you for class today professor Morgan Le fay sounds really interesting. see you next week" she said before vanishing to the library in order to get some marmalade.

History of magic class three

Paracelsus
born in 1493 Paracelsus was a man skilled as a doctor, and alchamist and astronomer responcable for many changes in the practice of medicine. he was a man who introduced toxicology to the world after nticing that in some things a little could cure even if lot could poisen. he also decided that the form of medicine used at the time called galenic (presumably where the term galenical comes from). he infact burned the works of this branch or theory of meicing in a fire whilst a crowd watched claiming they did more harm than good. this caused him to develop many enamies at the university he was teaching in at the time and resalted n his expulsion when he traveled europe offering his medicine to the rich and poor and only charging what ceople could pay.
he also gave patiants amulets and he invented the mages language so as to write on them. unfortunatly for many around him espcially his work colleagues which was not good for any erson especially a doctor.
