Today was the second lesson of the semester, and for the second years. It was just a simple introduction class were she would assign the first homework and introduce her students to new charms. Walking into the classroom Connor smiled at the looks of it, bright and friendly, but a frown came on her face when she saw the time. Waving her wand the door opened to allow the students to enter the class. This was going to be a tricky day, she had to impress the second years, they've had quite a few other Professors in the past year and a half she heard, Connor had to let them know she was there to stay. "Good Day Second Years. I'm Professor Connor Barnard, as such you should address me as Professor Barnard. I am the Charms Professor for years one through four as you all know, it's good to see you all again I hope summer break went well," Connor said her dark cloak floating around her as she walked to the front of her desk. Her face was hard and she was not there to gloat about how brilliant she was, she wasn't her sister after all. But she was there to make sure the students would do their job and learn. This year they would be learning harder spells and more dangerous ones. Connor did not want to have to use the levitation charm to bring any of the students to the Hospital Wing. She took a roll call from her list to see who was in attendance for the first class afterwards she waved her wand at the board and a list appeared.
Looking over the list of the spells for a second, Connor smiled briefly glad she had managed to spell everything correctly. "These are the spells which you are to learn. Some can be quite dangerous and as such I will review my Rules for the Classroom now." Connor turned towards a new section on the board and another list appeared. She didn't feel the need to explain each Rule word for word, they were all self explanatory.
"Please take note that anything which goes on the board should also be in your notes. Also when I explain a charm I will not write that on the board, but it'll do you well to have what each charm does in your notes as well," Connor said to her class. They were older than the students she had yesterday, therefore she expected more from them. She wasn't there to be their mother or to hold their hands. If they wanted someone to do that, then they'd better go to their Head of House. Connor never once needed a Professor to always be there for her, she didn't think those she was teaching would either. But she did have office hours for those who struggled. Looking at the clock she sighed knowing she was going to let them go early. "Alright then, once you've made note of the things on the board you are dismissed. But! But, take note of the homework which has been posted on the board closest to the door," Connor said before turning and walking back to the chair behind the desk.

Paige woke up and got dressed quickly, she did not want to be late for her first lesson Charms. Paige and the Professor had a rough start and Paige wanted to try to be better. Not be arrogantly on her skills, but helpful and sweet. Paige was still not really font of this Professor, but she was decent and she knew the subject pretty well. The Professor her face was pretty hard, she wondered what happened in her spring break or in her family. Not really caring she started listening to what the Professor was going to say. The spells looked pretty cool and Paige could not wait to use them in class and maybe practise them in secret in an empty hallway. Paige was writing the rules down on a piece of parchment while listening to the Professor. The homework was pretty straight forward and the rules looked pretty nice. They were simple and standard, but Paige knew that still some people did not follow these.
Paige closed the book on her lap and delivered her homework on the Professor her desk. |

The first lesson would always be the easiest, well, sometimes. The second year Part-Veela boy did not really care about classes but he thought that he should give them a shot for some reason. Erik looked around as he walked toward the classroom with a sluggish look, showing that he had not adjusted to classes yet, and it was likely that he would not adjust by the time his second week come in, but he would have to soon enough. Erik Metzger walked into the Charms classroom and his blue-green eyes looked ahead without much of an expression. He did not attend classes much but he did what he could. He would have to make his dad proud, and somewhat outshine his little sister that was in Gryffindor. He did have some sort of competition, as he thought to himself anyway. It could be really fun anyway. To him. Belladonna might not like it though. The second years were greeted as usual, and then introduced to Professor Barnard for some reason. He did not think too much on it though. Erik looked up as she started off the lesson, and then a list of spells. The spells seemed to be easy, but not to first years. It was hard to believe that he was a second year now. The Repelling charm seemed to be really handy though. He would have to deal with that. Erik was impatient though, he wanted to hurry along and he would go back to what he did best. He grudgingly took out his quill, ink and a sheet of parchment. He took down notes because that was what the professor said. It was not long until they were informed that they would have to leave, but they left with homework. Rolling those eyes, he quickly wrote down the homework and handed it in before he left the classroom. He had a bit of time anyway.
