Professor Davershire stood in the classroom with a smile on her face. The students weren't there yet, so she moved towards the doorway and watched the students approach in the hallway. She stood aside slightly and the first of the students arrived. Once the last student had walked through the door, Ava closed it and walked to stand in front of her desk. "Ok, well, to get started today, I'd like you to take our your quills." She heard some of the students mumbling under their breath, one of them she could hear say "I thought she said that we were going to be using our wands today." Professor Davershire glanced at the girl who had said and winked, grinning at the now confused girl. "Now, take out your wands." her grined widened, the class seemed positively confused now. She walked over to her desk and grabbed her own quill. "Today we are going to change our quills into spoons. In transfiguration, wand movement is the key. In most of the transfigurations that we will be doing we will be using the 'three tap' method. For this particular transfiguration, the incantation is Scriopea. Now watch me..." Professor Davershire held her wand to her quill, tapped it three times and said "Scriopea". With a soft noise, her quill flipped around and turned into a spoon. She picked up her new spoon and held it up to the class. "This is what you should end up with, though the types of spoons will vary depending on each of you. For instance, this spoon is of platinum, but the first time I ever tried this at your age, it was a bit rusty, literally." She smiled at the class. "Now, don't forget, three taps, and 'Scriopea'. I will be walking around as you do this, so if you need any help just raise your hand. At the end of class, line up at the door and I will change your spoons back into your quills." She held up her spoon and with another grin, touched her wand to it and it turned back to her quill. "Okay! Get started!" HOMEWORK RP this lesson, including your attempts at transfiguring your quills and even Prof. Davershire changing them back if you want. The more creative the better! |

Paige was walking in to the Transfiguration Classroom, she was walking in quite a fast pace. Andrea was walking in the front and had already chose a desk to sit behind, Paige did not mind and sat right next to Andrea. After a quick look and unpacking her bag, she listened to the Professor. The Professor closed the door and the Professor asked them to take their quills. Paige was a bit lazily, but she knew that the Professor said that they would need their wands for this lesson and writing did not require a wand. "I thought she said that we were going to be using our wands today." Paige mumbled under her breath, unfortunately the Professor heard her snappy comment and glanced at Paige for a while. Paige happily took out her wand from her left sleeve, she loved to hide it there. The spoon that the Professor had looked quite nice and Paige was hoping that she could choose the design herself. Paige took her quill and wand and with a three taps and saying 'Scriopea', the quill changed into a spoon. The spoon was green, but the material was rather cheap some sort of plastic. Paige liked the spoon, but also wanted her Quill back. Paige wanted another go and took her reserve Quill and with three taps and saying the spell 'Scriopea' again the quill suddenly changed into a regulair silvery looking spoon , with specks of rust here and there. Paige took both her quills, well now spoons to the Professor and she changed them back to her quills. Paige liked this spell and was going to use it more often, she had lots of spare and old quills and she would love to make an awesome customised spoon. With a wink and a nod Paige left the classroomn looking at Andrea and asking her where they should go. |

Perseas arrived early for transfiguration class. It was the only interesting subject this semester that had him looking forward each week for a new lesson. The Gryffindor wanted to learn some spells already. He liked using his wand and it was the only thing he put on his desk that morning, hopeful for a practical class this time. Surely his piercing, grey eyes weren't looking pleased when their Professor instructed them to take out their quills. Perseas searched blindly in his bag for a quill. He also got out a sheet of parchment and a full bottle of ink expecting note taking to take place. The Professor then asked them to get their wands. Perseas wasn't sure what she was up to but he didn't have any problem to get his wand back from his pocket. Yes! Finally, they were going to work on their first spell and they were going to turn their quills into spoons. Perseas watched Professor Davershire turning her quill into a platinum spoon. Although her demonstration was impressive, it wasn't looking quite useful in real life. Why want to transform a quill into a spoon when you could better conjure one or summon it from somewhere else. Nevertheless, Perseas focused on his quill on the desk and tapped his wand three times. "Scriopea". The quill flipped around but didn't turned into a spoon. It was a fruitless first try and it was more difficult than what it looked like. He insisted and casted again, more focused this time. "This is it!" he grinned as witnessed this time the quill's nib replaced by a spoon's bowl with a long feather still as its handle. The stainless steal of the spoon was meeting the hollow shaft of the feather yet the result looked remarkably natural. "Let's try again. Scriopea" he muttered with determination, and the hybrid quill flipped around once again and its feather was turned into a long, curvy handle. curvy. The ice-cream spoon in front of him gave him cravings for some cool ice-cream. It was also what needed to celebrate the fruits of his patience and determination. Perseas asked the Professor to turn the spoon back to his quill. The class was dismissed and the Gryffindor headed for the kitchens. His house elves friends were going to give him eagerly some ice-cream |

She was not looking forward to going to any of her classes this week, in as bad of a mood as one could be and still be relatively patient with her roommates. She adored Paige and, while she didn't know Bex very well, the girl was certainly rubbing off on her, but this particular morning she just wanted to be ignored. But Paige was persistent which was why Andrea actually made it to her Transfiguration class on time. Her friend was probably wondering what in the world was wrong with her, considering this was her favorite subject, but she just hadn't the time or patience to say anything and sat moodily in her seat, waiting for the lesson to begin. Drawing out a quill on command, her wand releasing from the holster on her forearm a moment later, Andrea prepared herself for whatever spell it was she assumed they would be learning. Professor Davershire had that playful look in her eyes when she announced they'd be transforming their quills into spoons...how useful. At any rate, Andrea frowned at her quill, the latest in a line of apology gifts from her grandfather, and pointed her wand at it. Three taps and a murmured "Scriopea." later...she had done little to nothing...except maybe rip off a few of the soft tendrils that made up the quill. A soft sigh and then she tried again, tapping thrice and murmuring the magic word but still...nothing. Angry now, she glared at the quill as if it were the source of all her problems, and jabbed her wand three times at it, muttering "Scriopea!" adamantly, as if demanding the spell to work. The quill gave a hiss and shot off her desk, flitting through the air and landing on the professor's desk. Blushing furiously, Andrea got to her feet and retrieved the quill, hurriedly wandering back and sitting down. She took a deep breath and calmed herself, tapping her wand three times against the feather and saying, clearly and confidently, "Scriopea." Finally, the quill shuddered before lengthening a bit and going stiff and silver; she'd finally done it. After requesting that the professor change it back for her, Andrea stumbled after Paige and yawned, telling her friend she was heading back to the dorm to sleep. |
