Professor Connor Barnard was starting to get used to the swing of the semester. Fourth week in and on her last lesson of the week, third years. She was ready for them, buckets of water were lined near the walls in case any of the students were array with their spells today.

Waiting for the students to pile into the room after opening the door she sat behind her desk. Once she believed most were piled in, she took roll call as usual and got up to stand before the class. She was used to this lecturing thing, it seemed to come easy for her for some reason or another.

"Good Morning Students! Today, you will be learning the charm that starts fires,"
She spoke in a strict manner, "I do not care if you have been self taught, as always, I will expect full participation from you." Connor wonder if they knew she was referencing that she knew kids enjoyed their pranks with this spell, at least at Durmstrang they had.

She cleared her throat. "The incantation for this Charm is Incendio. Please, repeat after me, In-sehn-dee-oh." She smiled as her students seemed to be doing well. "Of course, your wand movement is the standard swish and flick. Make sure to have caution when using this charm; you might end up with a disaster that could have been otherwise avoided." Professor Connor said thinking but not saying of all the times she had seen the magic spell gone wrong.

She paced around the classroom, making sure that everyone had gotten her point. "You will find a candle on each of your desks. I want you to light the wick of your candle at least three times." She smiled. "I expect an essay on the practical uses of this charm, due by next week. You can leave when you have accomplished the aforementioned task." Connor told her class.

She stood around the classroom, wary of any wild fires and ready to extinguish anything that got out of hand.

Homework:
1) RP the lesson.
2) Extra credit for a short essay on the practical uses on this charm. The more uses you can give me, the more extra credit you will get, which mean more House Points.

[justify]Charms was the sort of lesson where he was always able to learn a new spell, do something better and be better at a spell. He liked charms for the reason that if he was good at magic then that was the class that he would be able to tell. Well, one of them. There were many glasses that he could try and use to prove that he was good at things. Waking up early on the fourth week was easy. He felt better. More rested, he was happy to have B in his life even more. She was so beautiful to him, and he really did believe that he loved her. More and more with each passing, even if he didn't actually ever get to spend too much time with her alone. it was still better than nothing, and it definitely beat not having her in his life at all. Which was sort of the worst thing imaginable for the young teen. He was annoyed of course that it was still secret but he would stick to that, if it made her happy. Ty was all about making her happy, and staying together. So even if that meant that he was not allowed to say, or mention it to anyone, he would. When he was finally up and ready for the class, he didn't have much time to spare. He grabbed the last few items that he needed to and then left the dorm room, skipping breakfast and just heading directly to the Charms classroom.

It was quiet when the boy arrived, he was one of the first, and just made his way to the back of the classroom, happy to just be there, and was very ready to learn. He pulled out his charms book, some writing utensils, and then his wand. Which he loved dearly. He then, just relaxed in his chair as the professor got started. Well, when the rest of the class appeared she got started. Which didn't happen too long after the last few people arrived and settled themselves in their respective spots. Ty focused his attention on the front of the room, and the professor as she began telling them about the spell they would be doing. Which sounded pretty fun. Like instructed, he repeated the spell after the professor. Taking more care to do it correctly and not with a southern drawl that might change the meaning of the spell. He was then pleased that they would get to try it. He looked to the candle on his desk, and then smiled. This would be fun. He picked up his wand, and pointed it at the candle. Smiling as he focused, thought of the candle lighting up, and "Incendio". Unfortunately, it failed. He felt a small surge in the wand, but nothing lit up. So, he tried again. "Incendio" More conviction, more determination. And this time, the candle lit up with ease. He was grinning happily as it did so. He was glad to have been able to do it. Really glad. He put out the candle with a quick breath and then did it again. "Incendio" Again, it lit up with ease. He managed to do the spell three more times in succession, before he thought he had truly mastered the spell. With that, he put away his things and with the homework given on the back of his mind, he just headed out to the pitch for a well deserved reward.

[justify]     For the past week, Rosie had been suffering through her seasonal allergies. Weirdly enough, most people got their allergies during the spring or summer. Not Rosie. For some reason her dreaded allergies like to come around during autumn and winter, most likely because it was dust that was irritating her. But Rosie wasn't a medical expert and she was likely going to be as right as she thought she was once she actually had the time to visit a doctor and get his or her input. Rosie entered the Charms classroom and found her usual seat. Her nose began to run again so she quickly pulled out a tissue and blew her nose. Rosie figured she looked just about as awful as she felt, so hopefully today's lesson went by quickly. risie already had a mountain of homework to get to and nap was definitely going to be needed by her at some point or another. The year was flying by quickly, and Rosie knew that she had better study as best as she could for the upcoming exam in this class. So far her grades had been in excellent shape, and she wasn't about to let some stupid allergies take her down and ruin her final semester as a third year!

Today they were going to be going over a charm that lit fires. "Oh this is going to be rich. I really hope that there are no pyros in this class." Rosie didn't want to see the castle catch on fire because of someone's bad decision. Rosie pulled her wand out of her robes and listened carefully to the incantation. Making sure not to hold her wand, she practiced saying it a couple of times. It was pretty straightforward. Then they were told to light the wick of a candle three times. Rosie glanced at her candle briefly before she picked up her wand. The usual swish and flick occurred before the brunette uttered the incantation carefully and clearly. "Incendio!" Instantly, a small flame engulfed the wick. Rosie smirked and snuffed out the flame so she could quickly try it out again. "Incendio!" Once again, the wick was lit by the spell. Rosie knew she only had to try once more, so she did just that. After a third time of the wick being lit by the spell, Rosie wondered if she had the hand of the spell or not. Rosie put the flame out one more time and wrote down the homework assignment before gathering up her things and leaving the classroom once dismissed.

[justify]The week was now week four, which meant that it was just that much closer to the holidays, and Nikandros Matthias was perhaps one of those that did not want to go home that much. The Gryffindor third year walked into the classroom and he found his seat in the middle of the classroom where the boy did not want to really go home and face all of his brothers. His brothers were just so annoying, and his dad did not have much time for them anyway. He could not wait until he could graduate and get on with his life, whatever he wanted to be that is. He did not really know what he wanted to be yet. Was that bad? He hoped not. He looked up when the other third years arrived. It was about time to start that lesson because he was wanting to learn another spell and get the hell out of here.

Once Professor Barnard started up the lesson with a greeting, he looked up with his golden eyes and wondered what they were going to be doing. And then it was informed that they were going to be taught the spell of fire. He knew that one but never had any real success with it! The spell was called Incendio, and from there he knew why he had never had any success. He had been saying the spell wrong the whole time! Nikandros did not practice the pronunciation of the spell since he thought that it would be childish to do so. The wand movement was the swish and flick so he had that right at least. He looked upon the desk and he found the candle. They would have to light the wick three times. Nikandros pulled out his wand and he managed to light the wick twice before setting the wax on fire. He put that out and then lit the wick before blowing it out. He left the class in a hurry after that.

[justify]Damon Kyle was really glad to be attending another class today. Everything about magic made Damon giddy, from Transfiguration to Potions, though Defence Against the Dark Arts was a lot different. He often did not appreciate that class. Damon was really happy about the other classes though! Damon really wanted to just sit down and get started! Damon found his seat in the front of the class, and he settled in beside his best friend. He waited for the others to arrive which was getting closer and closer. He was one of the first ones to come in here, out of all of the third years anyway. Third years were plentiful for some reason, and then when one looked at the older students, it was not so much! At least the holidays were coming up really soon. However once the others had arrived, they were ready to begin the lesson once more.

Professor Barnard greeted the class and she sounded strict which made Damon frown. He was not a fan of strict professors! It made them seem less happy and more like Professor Styx, who could easily haunt his nightmares. However the spell that they were going to be learning was none other than the spell that would create fire! Damon thought that this could end badly but he thought that he could do it too! He was confident in his abilities. His brown eyes looked to the candle upon his desk and he excitedly got out his wand, ready to perform Incendio. He made sure that he could pronounce it right, and got the movement of the wand right too. Now he was sure ready to begin! He attempted the spell, and well, it did not go well at all. Instead of setting the wick on fire, he managed to set his desk. Jumping back, he waved down the professor and got the fire out. Damon frowned and he thought, ‘Too much excitement.’ By the end of class, he did not set anything else on fire but the wick.

[justify]1. It was getting really close to the holidays and Bryce Chamberlin adored it. He looked forward to the weeks ahead, and he really wanted to spend some time with his sisters. After all, the Ravenclaw missed them a lot, and he hated being the youngest and the only one in the school. It just blew. Bryce walked into the classroom and he took his seat near the front where he would wait for Rosie to come and sit down next to him. They always sat together even though he was interested in Sofii. They were both artists, or aspiring artists. Bryce really looked forward to the class ahead since he liked attending the class. Bryce did not really have a least favorite anymore, but the less spells, the better for him. Charms was one of those that had spells every lesson except the first one, so Bryce was not really that excited as he would be for other classes.

The Ravenclaw narrowed his eyes as the professor started to speak to the class. He read that they were going to be learning a charm that could start fires. He did not know that one. Well, he had read about it, but he had not performed it or even tried to. It was one of those spells that could go horribly wrong, so he just did not bother. That was, until today when they would have to. Bryce made sure that he was pronouncing the spell correctly with his best friend before looking at the candle. He already knew what they were going to be doing today. So he did not bother reading more of the professor’s words as she spoke them. Bryce took out his wand and he got to practicing, which took him two tries to get the wick lit up. His eyes turned a bit when he felt some heat and saw that Damon set his desk on fire. Chuckling, Bryce finished the task and he left once he saw Roo leaving.

[justify]It was the fourth week of lessons and Sergei Zhefarovich was more than ready to get the rest of the semester done and over with. There were just a few more weeks left of school, and Sergei was relishing in it. The Slytherin looked up and saw the professor before he felt like he was going to be wasting his time like he always was in classes. Although this one was an exception. He was earning his house some points, so he should not be complaining. Slytherin was a little in front of Hufflepuff which meant it was just pathetic. They were doing so well! Hufflepuff was the left over house, or the house that could have anyone from the lovable nannies to the nut jobs like his cousin Hades. It was hard to believe that was where the hat had placed him. The other third years entered the classroom and they were ready to begin.

His attention was snapped up when Professor Barnard started the lesson with the fact that the charm was one of those that would start fires. Was the professor crazy or just stupid? Leaving that charm in the hands of a bunch of teenagers. Well, they would have to learn it eventually. He was probably one of those few that already knew how to cast the spell. He had taught himself early this semester because he needed it for reasons he did not care to think of. So the day was going to be easy. Light the wick of the candle three times. Sergei sighed and he took out his wand. He used the wand movement and intoned the spell clearly. The wick was aflame, and then so was some student’s desk. That was not his fault but he smirked a bit. He ignored the kid and did as he was told before they were dismissed. Sergei left the room, hoping no one else set fire to the classroom.
