Professor Black sat at her desk, looking forward to today's lesson. A number of water glasses sat on her desk, ready to be used in practice today. As her students filed into the class, she smiled at them and waited for them to find their seats. Once they were settled, she rose and began the class.

"Welcome! I am rather excited for today's lesson, and hope you will be too," she said with a smile. "Conjuring is our focus this year. Who can tell me what it means to conjure?" Professor Black looked around the room, and called on the first hand that rose. After listening to the answer, she smiled and continued. "You are correct. I really like that answer."

Moving back towards her desk, she picked up a goblet. She tapped her wand three times and spoke the incantation, "Aguamenti". A stream of water flowed out from her wand, and filled her glass. "Today we will be conjuring water. The spell is Aguamenti. Let's say that together please. Aguamenti." She listened to the class repeat the word. "Wonderful. There are a few key things to remember with conjuring. First, you must concentrate. Picture in your mind the object that you are wishing to have. For example, I filled the goblet by picturing it filled with water. This also helps to control the amount of water you get, or amount of any other object for that matter. The more accurate and detailed you picture what you are trying to conjure the better the result. Second, you still need to use the three tap method and speak the incantation carefully. If you say it wrong, you might just have a different result." She smiled at them, hoping the students understood her warning was to be headed, but not to fret about it. Even the best wizard or witch goofed occasionally.

"With that, please come an pick out a drinking glass. You can continue to practice as much as you need. I do request that I get to taste your water for grading. Make sure when you are picturing the water in your mind, you also envision the taste and smell. Accuracy and detail are important. I will be here for any questions you may have." With that, she let them get to work, sitting at her desk ready for them to bring her the water to test out.

Homework: Simply RP the lesson. Please bring the water up to me to taste and grade.

[justify]Proserpina Laurent walked into the Transfiguration classroom for the second week of lessons. The sixth year Prefect loved the year, and she looked forward to the holidays ahead. Then she would be the oldest in the school. Well, maybe not the oldest but one of them for certain. She could not wait until that glorious moment! For now, she would have to work her way through her classes, and she would endure just about anything to receive the grades that she thought that she deserved! She earned her Outstandings, and she thought that she would continue to do so in each of her classes. The Hufflepuff Prefect walked further into the classroom and took her seat at the front like she always had. She loved sitting up front too. The closer she could sit to the professor and her teaching, the better. Soon the lesson began and Proserpina was eager to learn.

Finally the lesson began, and Professor Black was apparently excited for the lesson. They were going to be conjuring! She raised her hand and she replied once she was chosen, “To conjure something is bringing an item or an object from thin air.” She was right too! The professor then said a word, Aguamenti, and she conjured water. She spoke the name of the spell when they were told. They would also need the three tap method. Once they were given a gauntlet to conjure the water in, Proserpina tapped the edge of the cup with her wand three times before she intoned the spell clearly. She managed to conjure up some clear water and then she brought it up to the desk to taste. Once she was dismissed, she went out of the classroom to go try to master the spell even more. She hoped to continue on.

Minoas strolled into transfiguration classroom glad that his day was beginning with his favorite subject. He was expecting an interesting session today as they were going to study the art of conjuring. As the sixth year Gryffindor was having a seat as closer to the front of the class as possible, he couldn't help but wonder what they would be requested to conjure first. He went for the wild guess of an inanimate object as they used to begin with such materials first while developing the skills in the different fields of transfiguration they had studied so far. Professor Black's welcoming was also promising for something exciting for the students. This meant something fresh and new and not another revision class on spells they had been taught during previous years. His grey eyes focused for a while on the hufflepuff prefect who answered the question about conjuring's terminology and then his attention returned back to the professor.

A smile arced on Minoas' lips when the transfiguration professor revealed it would be water what they were expected to conjure. Now Minoas was dying to work with water spells whether he would have to conjure water or control it in some way. His fingers reached for his wand in his pocket unconsciously while he was thrilled to cast magic of the water element. An amulet of a pointy, blue quartz against his chest and underneath his uniform was attesting his connection with the water element. It was the dominant element within him which meant he needed to try harder with fire element based spells like incendio and he could cast flawlessly anything related to water. He was bound to find out if this was true as he took the goblet he was provided in front of him. "Aguamenti!". He witnessed water streaming out of his wand tip and his eyes sparked with content. The water flowed into the goblet and with a light movement of his wand it stopped just in time before reaching the goblet's rim. As most of his classmates where taking the goblets straight to the professor, Minoas decided to taste first his own water before delivering it for valuation. He brought the goblet close to his nose and sniffed the water first. Then his lips touched the cold glass and took a reluctant sip. Minoas' taste buds were tickled by a "lemony" flavor which made him wonder if the wonder he had just conjured was straight from volcanic terrain. He shrugged as he stood up to take the golbet full of water to the professor. He left the classroom wondering if he could choose the taste and the momentum of the conjured water. Minoas head straight to the library to find out.
