This first real charms lesson for the fifth years was going to be fairly interesting. he had made it so, keeping the students around by making sure they had been interested by the previous lesson, the previous week. So, he was hopeful that the fifth year students would much enjoy the lesson that he had in store for them. Once he had his usual cup of tea, Misha made his way into the main class area, and stopped in front of his table. He took a sip of the warm tea, and looked around. Everything was in place, he had quizes set out on all the tables, and he was ready. Which was why, thankfully the class began to walk into the room. He smiled warmly at his students. They weren't feeling the pressure yet, but they would feel it soon. This he knew. He let everyone get settled before he began, "Good Morning Fifth years. I hope your week has been nice so far." He greeted with his usual cheery tone, "Most of you will have noticed, that on each table there is a quiz. A sort of revision quiz, and you'll get one each week. So, that's why you need to be prepared." He knew that the quiz was fairly simple. It held nothing new, and was mostly stuff that they would've, or at least should've done in first year. "Now, because it is only the second week back, this quiz will be an open book quiz, though, I trust you will not need it. Begin!"
The class began writing, though as predicted the test was not too hard. He hadn't written the quiz it was part of the core Charms teaching, but he had read over it, to be sure that it was all okay, and that there was nothing on it, that he had any serious issues with. Once, he noticed that the entire class was done, he took out his wand and got all the answers to fly from the student's desks to his. Settling themselves in a neat pile on his desk for him to mark later. "Now, that's over with, on to the fun stuff. Today we will be learning, or revising the Impediment Jinx. If you take Care of Magical Creatures you'll already know what it is, but for those who don't," Misha paused, looking over his class to be sure they were still paying attention, before he continued, " The Impediment Jinx or Curse stops an object or slows it down, depending on the strength of the object or being. Now, today, class, we are going to be venturing outside, so be thankful that Charms for you guys, is in the second semester." With a beckoning of his hand Misha led his students out of the classroom and into the gardens, spying a rather ugly little creature. Waving his wand towards it, he stated, "You see that? That's a gnome. They're rather pesky little creatures and in a tight spot can be quite a hindrance." His dark eyes fell on one that began to run toward him, as he had produced a handful of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans. "They're suckers for these beans; I want you to use Impedimenta on them before they can get to you." He pointed out the gnomes gnashing teeth as it still scurried towards him, and with a wave of his wand he stated, "Impedimenta!" A flash of red light barreled into the gnomes chest, seeming to put it in slow motion. Misha produced a box of the beans and handed each of his students a few, continuing, "Now, when you have successfully completed this spell on a gnome you may leave to enjoy your day; remember to be careful around your fellow students and that gnomes will bite. Nothing fatal, of course, but rather painful." Misha stood in the gardens as the students dispersed through them, looking around to help them when needed and on the watch for any mischievious gnomes. While happily munching on spare bertie botts. Eventually once he felt the class was sufficiently good at the charm, he dismissed them. Homework: RP the lesson. Have fun with this one! The quiz, do or don't do, up to you. There will however be extra credit award for those that do it. Edited by Professor Misha Haden, Aug 10 2013, 05:03 AM.

Ava had enjoyed her first week back, and was more than happy to really get back to her classes. Get stuck in and do the work that they were going to ask of her. OWLs would be hard, that was for sure. She knew that it would be. She was just keen on getting started on studying hard, and just doing well. Which would be hard, as english was not her first language or her second. In fact it was pretty far down the list of languages that she could speak. For all of her classes, along with the ever necessary wand, the girl carried around a dictionary, an english to Greek dictionary that was about as thick as her potion book. She wasn't so bothered that it was going to be hard to do well, the girl knew that. She wasn't stupid, she'd just give it her best shot, that was all she could do. Which was why she was really ready for the charms class in the second week. Up and ready, long before she needed to be. Cavani took her usual spot, dead centre of the room, and sat wanting. Wand out of the table, dictionary beside it. She was ready for this lesson. So ready. She was excited for it even. It was going to be great, she knew that. Happily the teen realised the rest of the class had appeared, as had the professor who then told they'd be doing a quiz. A little startled, she looked properly on the desk and noticed the quiz, to which she got to work straight away. With a few translations later, she had completed it, as had most of the others. Then the professor took back in the tests, and explained what they'd be doing, and then took them outside. She couldn't really believe they'd be going outside, but she gathered her things and followed the professor. She watched as he demonstrated what they'd be doing with in the class, and then allowed everyone to get to work. Ava looked at the gnome heading towards her, raised her wand at it, and then said the spell with as much conviction and the least amount of accent as she could. The spell worked, and then she was able to leave. She was pretty pleased with how the lesson had gone. She knew that she'd be good at this. Charms was easy.
