[justify]     Professor Effie was seated at her large oak desk pouring over a variety of complicated charts and calculations, already preparing lessons for those students who might be successful at reaching the study of Arithmancy beyond fourth year. Some students just didn't have it in them but she understood that Arithmancy wasn't for everyone. If she remembered correctly a lot of her siblings were really bad at it but she ended being skilled with it. Her soft different colored eyes remained focused intently on the information before him until she heard the sound of footsteps. Softly Effie lifted her face and smiled brightly at the entering students. She had an interesting year of lessons planned for the students and she expected that they would enjoy it as well. The expected silence arrived once she rose from her chair, and softly Professor Snow began.

"As you should recall, your first year of study introduced you to the Pythagorean Number System and the Core Concepts. You were required to make precise calculations, make some inferences based upon your results, and ultimately, draw conclusions based upon your understanding of the subject matter and yourself." Professor Snow waved her wand and a familiar looking table appeared on the blackboard to the students left.

THE CORE CONCEPTS

Life Path:

The Life Path is at the heart of your being. It tells you what you are really like. Its qualities want to be utilized and acknowledged. It is what is innate and natural for you. It is the vibration in which your soul has chosen to ground its essence.

Birth Day:

Your specific day of birth may direct you to added understanding of what you are here to do. It often combines with other energies to help them develop.

Expression:

The name you were given at birth tells a wonderful story and is what you must be in this life. It is a 'Divine Promise' of opportunity. When embracing the qualities of this vibration, you find that your soul adds to its experiences, knowledge, and growth. In the Expression number, you will find evidence of your purpose.

Heart's Desire:

This vibration comes from the vowels in your name. The vowels are said to be very sacred and in some languages were so respected they were never written. The Heart's Desire provides insight into your soul's deepest urges and values. You will find your most essential motivations here. This part of you also wishes to harmonize with your other core vibrations so that you may express fully all that you are.

Personality:

The information within the Personality gives us an understanding of how others may attempt to see and direct us. It provides us with insight on which aspects of our personality others may recognize and validate. Ultimately, it is the influence the outer world has on us.

Professor Snow lightly surveyed the group around the room and proceeded, assured that she had their undivided attention because they were all quiet and alert. Or so it seemed. "At the end of last year, you were each required to do some preliminary work in the determination of your Life Path and the impact of your Birth Day. The emphasis of this year’s study will be on the latter three elements listed. Today, we will begin with the first element, the Expression." Professor Snow paused her lecture for a moment. She knew that the students would be disappointed that they would not be afforded the opportunity to actually calculated their Expression Number today, but they needed to possess a thorough understanding of what the Expression meant before they could do any interpretation justice. Clearing her throat softly she sighed and started to talk again. "As alluded to earlier, the name given at birth shares the promise of an untold story. The name contains potential direction and points to qualities you can cultivate during your life. By paying careful attention to this vibration, you will realize a wonderful opportunity and a divine promise."

Professor Effie Snow gave the students an opportunity to finish taking some notes and then continued. "The Expression points to purpose, but it is most typical that young people like yourselves are more aware of other core parts during the early stages of their life. As they become comfortable with their other core parts and find ways to balance them, their Expression becomes more evident. As people mature, the destiny actually transforms. As the Expression becomes more integrated it will deepen the connection with other parts. It is as if the other parts are eager to join in and assist in helping attain life purpose." There was much, much more to the Expression, but it would have to wait until next week. Effie didn't want to put too much through their heads. She didn't want to overwhelm them. The students would need to learn patience and he was precisely the professor to offer this important lesson. "That is all for today." She stated in a caring voice as she waved them all to leave. They all looked tired. But it was their first week back so she understood that they were probably getting used to being back at school.

Ai was glad that her stamina and health were better ever since she had gotten back from Japan. At least she could attend classes without any problems now. She needed to attend classes as she didn't need to give the ones who raised her another disappointment. It was enough that she would be moving out of the Agasa house soon, and she didn't want failing grades to come with it. She needed marks that would be satisfying to not feel that large lump of guilt in her chest the day she plans to move out. She would still be attending Hogwarts, no doubt about that. But she'd be counting on the inheritance she has left, and that would be limited. She would have to eventually get a part-time job when she gets the chance.

Today, the young Hufflepuff had Arithmancy class. Ai hadn't attended much of the class last year, but she still had her book and managed to read what she needed. She didn't want to embarrass herself in this class where it was her Head of House who was teaching and clearly knew her. She took her seat and got out some parchment, ink and her quill just in case notes needed to be taken. It wasn't long before class started and Professor Snow began discussing the lesson. Ai was getting dizzy, and it certainly wasn't because of health reasons. She was getting confused about the lesson. Gods, she hoped someone she knew was with her to explain the whole thing. It was getting hard for her to understand every minute, and she could only take down exactly what the Professor was saying. She would have to look for someone to teach her soon. Class went on and on and it seemed like it would take forever to continue until it was finally over. Ai kept her things and slip the notes in her Arithmancy book. Hopefully, someone would be kind enough to teach her.

[justify]Raziel kim felt a little strange to be back at Hogwarts. He had spent the entire vacation with his family, their attention all focused on him. He remembered waking up in his mother's embrace. His older sisters also tried really hard to spend time with him. There was never a day that he was alone. Thus, it was really weird to be back at the school were barely anyone notices him. Not that he minded though. In fact, he was perfectly happy being by himself. He did not want to get involved in any awkward situations where he had to force himself to speak. No. He would rather be alone than to be someone that he was not.

Biting on a bar of chocolate that his mother had packed for him before he left, the young Ravenclaw made his way down the sixth floor corridor. He would be having his first arithmancy class as a fourth year. The blond was actually quite glad that the classroom was situated just a floor below his room. He had never been an active boy. He disliked walking.

After a few minutes of walking, which involved him having to dodge overly energetic students running down the hallways, Raziel finally faced the familiar door that lead to his class. Slowly, he peeked inside the room. He was one of the early birds there. Which was good. He did not particularly like getting the attention of his classmates should he arrive late and the room was already packed. As usual, Raziel took the seat nearest to the door. That way, it would be easy for him get out once they were dismissed.

The Ravenclaw took out a parchment and started to doodle while waiting for the class to start. After a few more minutes of waiting, their professor began to speak. He actually like her. She was very knowledgeable about the subject. It should be expected though. It was required of her after all. Raziel just stared at the front, unblinking, as the professor talked about what they would be learning for the year. He decided that it would be better to read about the subject in advance so the next lessons would not be too hard for him. As soon as he heard that they were dismissed, the boy jumped off his seat and slipped out of the room, unnoticed.
