November 17th, 2032. The flourish of white morning light pitched through the bars of Grakul's cell, but he was not there to witness the first of it. He stood in chains before those in charge, learning of his future. It would be ten years he had served come Christmas day. Ten years in the pits of hell, locked up in confusion and madness. But he had changed. The years had lined his face and left him bedragled in appearance, and the man beneath had learned his lesson. He was a new man. Any letters he received from his step-daughter were a blessing. Any knews he had of his granddaughter was wonderful. It had all given him a reason to live and to change. And as he stood there, hardly able to comprehend what was being said to him, Grakul knew that his life would change again. For the better. |
