Professor Jacqueline Black walked into her classroom with a smile. She had the pleasure of teaching the Seventh Years and was rather excited. The types of Transfiguration they would be learning this term were fun for her, more advanced than before. Hopping up on her desk, she quickly turned into her animagus form, sitting on her haunches on the desktop for the fun of it while she waited for the students to arrive. When all her students had arrived, she hoped off her desk, changing from her animagus form as she did so. She couldn't help but smirk a bit as there were a few students that were caught off guard, despite having seen her form in the classroom before. "Welcome back to Transfiguration! Let's get this party started since you have lots to learn and prepare for this year. I know you have your NEWTs looming at the end of the year and my goal is to make sure you are ready for them. We will cover a few new topics, but in the process of covering these, you will be revising for your exam." Professor Black smiled at the class then continued. "Today we are going to start with Untrasfiguration and reversal spells. Untransfiguration is returning something to its proper form. An perfect example of this is when you turned a beetle into a button. I know I always had fun turning them back into beetles after the class was over. Untransfiguration is essentially a reversal spell. We will learn more about these types of spells this term," she said pausing for a moment. Giving the students a once over, she realized that was enough talk for the day. "Ok. Time to do something a bit more fun. We are going to build a bit upon the conjuring you did as Sixth years. Remember, concentration is essential! Picture what you are wanting to conjure clearly and as detailed as possible in your mind's eye. Today we are going to work on chairs." With three taps in the air, Professor Black conjured a simple wooden chair as a demonstration for the class. "Don't stress yourself with anything extremely complex. Just imagine a plain wooden chair. The more complicated the chair the harder it is to create," she said. There were a few she knew would want to try a more complex chair, but she hoped they would wait until they at least have a simple wooden chair first. "This is a nonverbal spell, but it is important to use the three-tap method with your wand. Now, once you have a standard wooden chair, bring it up to me and we will test your work. Any questions?" she asked. Seeing none, she waved her hand at them. "Have at it! You have the rest of the class to practice. I will be here if you need any help." Professor Black moved to sit pretzel-legged on top of her desk, watching their work intently. RP the Lesson. Feel free to include an image. Just fire me a PM if you wish Jacqueline to participate in your lesson. This term will be RP based like the last two years have been. |

Having a good history in Transfiguration, Isabella Romanes made her way into the classroom where she saw Professor Black once more. She didn't know if she should be excited about this year or not, but she did not mind it so much. She soon took her seat, and she looked at the professor. Isabella did not really care too much. She was rather care less about a lot of things. Once the other few seventh years arrived, they were welcomed back into Transfiguration. They had a lot to learn and prepared them all for the NEWTs. Isabella heard a lot about the NEWTs, and it was getting somewhat annoying hearing about them all the time. But she would have to deal with it, it was a crucial year for them anyway. Isabella just wanted to have a good year this year, and make good grades so that she could get a career out there in the magical world, where she wanted to remain. This year, they were going to be learning about Untransfiguration and Reversal spells, which was something that she had never thought would happen. She would like the idea of course, of being able to return something after she turned it. After all, she would not want to have to color her hair and have to wait for it to wear off. Although today, they were going to be conjuring some chairs today, a plain wooden one apparently. They conjured things last year, which was good anyhow. She would not mind having to conjure a chair. It is a nonverbal spell, so that was something harder than a verbal one, and once more they were reminded the three tap method. Isabella flourished her wand, and she pictured a nice, wooden chair for her to conjure. Tapping the air three times, she conjured up a chair so that she could leave the class. She showed it to the professor, and upon dismissal, she packed her things and left the Transfiguration classroom. |

Nadia had been looking forward to Transfiguration at this school for a long time. In fact ever since she came here. But she had really not had time. Now she did. She got out of bed, rather reluctantly at that and yawned. She wasn't really in the mood for lessons, but she had to do her best. She walked over to her oak chest of draws that was gilded with fake gold paint. But it still looked attractive enough. With this, she put on her uniform and sighed, walking back over to her bed she lifted up her mattress and got her bag from underneath. She just kept it under there for safe keeping, he knew that some of the people in her dormitory were dodgy enough to come and steal it. It was nothing personal, of course. When she was completely ready she rushed out of the dormitory and common room to the main castle. She wasn't completely hungry, but she had better get some toast to eat on the way. She came down stairs and walked into the Great Hall and picked up a piece of toast, then walked straight back out and walked up the stairs to the Transfiguration class. It was an interesting walk for certain, yet she carried on. She wondered what it'd be like, it seemed so long since she had taken part in one and couldn't wait to get started on the course here. Nadia rushed down the corridor, nearly bumping into a few first years, and slowly entered the transfiguration class, there was only the professor there, and Isabella. She gave a small smile and sat down at the back of the classroom, and waited for the other students to arrive. When they all had, the professor began the class. She talked about what they would be covering this lesson and possibly next about untransfiguration, it was certainly an interesting word but obviously could have interesting consequences. This is why she loved transfiguration it could bring great things into possibility. She found much more interesting then she did DADA or charms. She felt this was the most helpful and constructive. Instead of making notes, she had roughly began to draw small doodle on her parchment, which wasn't that good, but then she thought maybe she should actually take notes.
When Nadia had finished writing she stood up with the rest of the class, to perform this chair out of thin air, it seemed to be quite amazing how this was possibly. It wasn't like the accio charm either. When the professor performed it, she copied her wand movement and tried once, nothing but a gush of wind came over her. She tried again with the same movement, yet this time nothing more then a chair leg came out. With was a little embarassing but still. She tried once again, thinking about a plain wooden chair, but this time a chair came zooming out, nearly knocking her flat. She laughed a little, but was glad she properly performed this spell. She then took it up to Professor Black for inspection. She was quite proud of herself. Maybe she could create money with this spell? No, that'd be against the laws of magic. So unless she wanted to be in enourmous trouble, then she shouldn't try it. But it sure was tempting. When the lesson was dismissed, she departed from the class and walked down to the library. |
