Lesson Five:

[justify]     Professor Effie Snow was trying to organize a bit of her room before her class of Fourth Years arrived. When the school year began normally her room was spic and span. But as the year went on it always got a little disorganized and messy. Effie hated it but since it seemed to happen every year she learned to just live with it and try to keep it as organized as she could. The sound of shuffling feet alarmed her and she lowered the feather duster she was using to keep her bookshelf clean and free of dust. Her class had arrived already? Well that was just brilliant! Effie put the duster away and smiled softly. Might as well begin today's lesson! " Welcome back guys! The Heart's Desire was determined by using the vowels of our given name." She opened the lesson. Hopefully it got their attention because she wanted them to pay close attention to this lesson. "Vowels are considered almost sacred and have a strong correspondence with our inner self. It should not come as a surprise to you then to learn that the consonants contained within your name have an important role in determining how the outer world sees you and interacts with you accordingly. The consonants give us what we in Arithmancy refer to as The Personality." Professor Snow glanced around the room and seeing that all of the students were focused, continued on with the lesson. They seemed to be on top of things today and that made her proud. Her students were so well behaved and such, sometimes Effie considered baking the poor dears sweets because she felt bad that they always came in here so well behaved and she didn't do much more than lecture their ear off with Arithmancy. "Have you ever had someone tell you that you would be good at something and then heard it again later from someone else? Perhaps as time went by you may have found yourself actually involved in activities which utilized the qualities they saw in you. And maybe as more time went by, you realized that you were quite capable in this area, but that it didn't truly feel like what you really desired or felt motivated to do."

Professor Snow paused for a moment, to let them catch up if they were taking any notes for this. When it looked like the Quills were no longer moving she started again; "What I am describing is the influence the outer world has on us. The Personality number has qualities that are very much a part of us. We may be content with what this vibration has to offer for a while. However, it is the Heart's Desire vibration that assists us in reaching our full potential. The Heart's Desire will lead us to a greater fulfillment found within our Expression vibration. As you will recall, the Expression includes both the vowels of the Heart's Desire and the consonants of the Personality in your name." Professor Snow stated softly. By this point she had stopped pacing back and forth and turned to face the students from the front of the class, directly in front of her desk. "“So how do we use the Personality vibration? It's simple, we incorporate it. In doing so, we recognize that the Personality is an added dimension of our nature, but never forget that it is not the full capacity that exists within us. We are capable of much greater things. Allow the Personality in as a supporting influence, but do not allow it to direct the whole show. I suppose that is it for the day as well, copy down the homework and I will you all next week!" Professor Snow turned away from her students, pointed her wand at the board and their homework was revealed. Once they copied it down they were all allowed to leave.

[justify]Andy entered the Arithmancy classroom quietly. Once again greeted by Professor Snow happily. The Professor imiediately began the lesson and everyone seemed in a hurry to get settled and listen to what she had to say so they didn't get confused and lost in the explainations and lectures. This lecture seemed to be able the importance of vowels at first and how your name plays an important role in how you are seen by the outer world. She then went on the explain how the outer world can effect people individually. If this lesson and finding out his personality number was like last lesson, then he was sure he would pick it up sooner rather than later. He copied down the homework and nodded at it, it seemed very simple to do, and he was sure he'd have it done by time it had to be handed in. Even though it was getting closer to the end of the year, the homework didn't seem to hard, or he just found Arithmancy easy, and/or enjoyable. A rareity, but the Professor didn't seem to mind the class too much, she did teach it afterall. Andy packed up his things after they were dismissed and went off to do the homework assigned to the class.

- This individual is well read, inquisitive, or a restless gossip.
- He is a great companion and excellent friend.
- This person may travel a great deal for fun or business purposes.
- Many changes of address andconnections with other countries are in store for this individual.

The results for some of these are quite accurate, though some seem totally incorrect. I do travel quite a bit, though I don't enjoy it much, but the thired statement never says I enjoy the trips, only that I have a lot of them. With the last statement, I have a lot of family in different countries, so it is possible for me to have connections in different countries and to possibly move to them in the future. The second statement puzzles me as I don't consider myself as anyones friend, therefore I cannot be considered an 'excellent friend', or 'great companion', since I prefer to be alone. The first statement seems to be somewhat correct. I do read, and tend to hold information well, though I'm not a gossip, as that requires actually spending enough time with people on a regular basis.

[justify]Justin walked slowly into the Arithmancy classroom, dragging his feet slightly because he was feeling lazy today. Justin hated waking up early, so he rarely did, but today he had just woken up for absolutely no reason and he wasn't happy about it, he had nothing to do in mornings and preferred to sleep through them, even if it meant running the risk of being late to classes, atleast he got to sleep. The lecture soon began and Justin listened as well as he usually did. He wasn't sure why people complained about Arithmancy, it wasn't that hard, and they only just sat around and listened to the professor talking, thye didn't have to really focus, unless they were doing calculations, and they were simple enough. This lesson they appeared to be learning about how to find their Personality Number, that sounded interesting enough to keep him listening, his original lazy mood disappearing slightly as the lecture carried on.

Justin laughed quietly when she asked anyone about if they had been told whether they would be good at something by two different people, and Justin had been told that he would make a pretty good irritant, and even though it was supposed to be an insult, Justin would just shrug and be as irritating as he could possibly manage, just to annoy people. The Professor then went on to explain how the outer world effected people, and as the homework came up, Justin copied it down and left the classroom when they were dismissed.

-Fun and energetic, this subject exudes charm, sex appeal, and magnetism.
-This person hates restriction, so he has many relationships.
-This individual is a terrible time keeper.
-He is interested in spiritual matters.

Most of these results are pretty accurate, though the last one is way off the mark. Even though I come from a spiritual family, I could care less about spiritual matters because they're useless and have no purpose. The third statement is amazingly accurate, as I often find myself having to do too many things at once, or having absolutely nothing to do when I have tons of spare time. I do hate restrictions on anything and prefer to go by my own rules on everything, but I'm not sure if people would describe me a 'fun', though I usually have a good time, even if it's at someone elses expence.
