Today was Takuya's first lesson of the year with his third years, they were one of the more interesting years that he taught. They were two years into the goings-ons of the school, so he knew what to expect with them better then his second years. He cleared his throat as they took their seats. "Hello Third Years, if you forgot me I am Professor Takuya Blaze, your Herbology Professor."

Takuya waved his wand and passed out papers to the students. "This year will be quite different from your previous years. This year, you all will have to wait until next lesson to find out what you will be doing."

"However, you will have to endure a lecture today about Herbology and its practices around the world. Does anyone know a country famous for its Herbalists?" His dark eyes scanned the room. He smirked, "No one?" Takuya waited a moment before continuing, "How surprising. Well, one is a well known-country. China. They are well known for their Herbalism and many of today's practices come from them. Shennong is one of the first herbalists. In the Han dynasty, he imparted all his knowledge of the medicinal herbs to help China. He was their Emperor, and he worked closely with the farmers."

Takuya paused to make sure no one had fallen asleep, "I expect everyone to be taking notes. All right, there are also many cultures that have influenced our knowledge and practices to us, and are still in use today. Romans and Greeks are an example. Hippocrates, who most know as a famous philosopher, provided a lot of information about Herbology."

"Another would be the Native Americans. I do not use many of the Native American practices. However, despite of this, I'll inform you what will be covered anyhow." Takuya tapped the blackboard, and a picture of an oblong object, which looked like a long dried herb tied together with burning twine. He informed, "Interesting, she used a smudge stick, or a sage stick. It is used to cleanse areas of negative energies. It is more about spiritual balances than it is about Herbology."

Takuya stopped, glancing at the time. "I seem to be out of time, copy down the homework prescribed and then you may go." Takuya said.

Homework: RP today's lesson, then write two more countries or cultures you might think have a rich history in herbology. No need to research, just give it a thought and write down their names.

It was a long time since Minoas had visited the greenhouses. The Gryffindor was finding the place unbearable hot and humid but on the other hand he liked the subject, mostly because he had background knowledge about herbology from his home education, the same as astronomy.

As he was entering the sultry room he made a mental note to search for some kind of spell or potion to make his future herbology classes less torturous. He remembered that Professor Blaze used to be their potion master. Why he had decided to take the post of herbology was unknown to the young lion but he seemed to do good in both posts. Minoas wasn't sure if he liked or disliked the particular professor. At least, he usually tended to make his classes interesting. He started pretty well on that day's lesson by keeping a surprise the specialty of third year's courses.

Of course there was always that theoretical part that was inevitable for all kind of classes. Minoas had learnt to stand it by keeping notes and keeping himself active rather than lose himself in the heat's drowsiness.
Although he had covered a lot about herbology and herbalism, he wasn't sure about the right answer at professor's question. He knew that in Ancient Greece and Roman Empire, there were a lot of herbalists but seeing that no one else had raised a hand in attempt to answer the question, he didn't really bother to do so as well.
He started taking notes. Sometimes slowing down but then starting scribbling faster. There were not many information to write down so Minoas unfolded his ability of sketching by drawing a fireseed tree next to his notes.
In the end, the homework seemed reasonable and the Gryffindor had a lot of spare time to make a reasonable attempt on it.

[justify]     Proserpina Kali was not looking forward to Herbology. She did not appreciate the professor very well due to the things she had heard about through the whispers. Then she remembered, she was safe. From him anyway. The young Hufflepuff entered the classroom where her brown eyes landed on the Gryffindor that was always around. She shrugged before she took her seat and the blonde looked forward on the professor that she felt tried to be one of those strict people, but was trying too hard. She waited until everyone was into the Herbology greenhouse and seated before lesson began, and they were greeted by the professor. From the first year she had arrived to this school, Professor Blaze had always taught Herbology. The older students said that he used to work with Potions, but probably switched so he could get a full course to himself.

'If he likes playing with flowers, so be it,' thought Proserpina with a smile onto her lips. There was a question, and Proserpina looked around to the other students, no one was raising their hand. She continued to listen, and then she could have sworn that they were being ridiculed by this guy. Well no wonder RHI targeted him. The Hufflepuff listened to all of the valuable information, and she took her notes down, in shorthand. She just knew what was being written down. Everything seemed to be going well, and her brown eyes looked onto the board to see an object, and then started to wonder what this 'she' was and why Professor Blaze was talking about her for. Proserpina shrugged and she continued to write down, and she heard the homework. She jotted that down as well, before she packed her things. She left the classroom, thankfully, because she did not think she could sit here much longer.
