Lesson Six:

Professor Effie Snow was in the midst of sorting through a stack of papers. Although Effie was normally hardworking and more than willing to get things done for her students as soon as possible, she had her moments where even she felt like doing absolute crap. As students began to pile in, Effie threw them a tired but sweetened smile. "Welcome back students! Many of you appear surprised in the results of your Life Number and Life Path calculations, sensing that they are not reflective of who you are at the current time or who you think you are to become. Let me be clear on two things. First and foremost, Arithmancy has more to do with the future than of the past. Secondly, there are many other factors that have yet to be revealed that will impact on our findings." Professor Snow paused at this point and stared carefully at the class as she rose up from her desk carefully. Since she was also feeling a little tired this week she was going to try and also go easier on them. She couldn't wait for Exams to be finished with so they all could take a long break and relax a little bit.

"One such factor that we will be considering this week is the influence of your actual birth day on your Life Path. Certain individuals are more influenced by the day of their birth then than the month and year of their birth. As a result, your homework for this week will be to determine if you might be such an individual. We will refer to the same Life Number pages as last week, but for this week will ignore the month and year of your respective births. For example." Professor Snow curtly pointed her wand at the board and neatly curved letters and calculations were revealed upon it. "As with last week, numbers between 1 and 21 do not need to be reduced, but those greater than 21 should be reduced."

Quote:

Date of Birth: January 12, 1970
Ignore month and year: 12
The number 12 does not need to be reduced further.

Date of Birth: May 27, 1982
Ignore month and year: 27
The number 27 needs to be reduced further. 2 + 7 = 9

Professor Snow paused another moment while she allowed a moment for the students to consider what was written on the board before continuing. She really wanted it to sink into their heads. "You will need to utilize the same pages from the textbook for this week's homework that you referred to last week. Your homework is to merely consider whether your Life Path is more influenced by your entire date of birth as calculated last week or the individual day only." The professor gave one final glance over the class and offered another tired smile smile. "We're almost finished here guys! Next week is exams! Please study! I'd like to see you all get some O's! Class dismissed!" Effie really wanted them go get good grades in her class, she liked seeing O's. She felt that her students deserved them for working so hard in her class all year.

Proserpina Kali walked her way to the Arithmancy classroom for the last time this semester. It greatly saddened her that she was not going to be able to be here for a long time. She wanted to continue to attend the class all year but that was not going to be possible it seemed. Proserpina wanted to know if they were going to be studying, or learning something new. She hoped that they were going to be learning something brand new. They were welcomed back, and then they were introduced into a brand new lesson which was relieving for her. Proserpina just hoped that Professor Snow would not go too fast in this lesson. Proserpina was rather tired right now, and did not want to do much. It was just one of those days, or rather one of those weeks where she did not feel like doing anything but laze around. The Hufflepuff did not want to bother with doing much, but since this was Arithmancy, it was important.

They were going to be going over the actual day, which hers was on the ninth, on the life path. There were examples onto the board. Proserpina hurried and got out her quill, ink and parchment out so she would know how to do this for homework. She did not want to go to her dorm and end up screwed because she was not able to take good notes. Proserpina also took down the homework because she would be stupid not to do it and see what happened with how her birth day itself influenced with her life path. They were told good luck on the exams, and Proserpina smiled. She knew that her luck would pay off, since she just knew. Proserpina also heard the dismissal, before she packed her things and left the classroom for the day considering that she was done here, sadly enough.
