As the students entered the room, it was back to normal after the previous lesson. The desks were there, but this time, there were cages on each of them. A few of the students gave Professor Black a strange look, but sat down anyways. They knew she would fill them in when the time was right. She soon rose from her desk, and walked in front of them to begin class.

"Welcome, welcome. I am glad we all had a bit of fun last week with your eyebrows. This week we will be working with a verbal conjuring spell again. You each have a cage because we will be conjuring up a flock of birds." A few faces around the room showed that she was making total sense. She smiled and continued, "Now I really didn't think we wanted dozens of birds flying around the room, so I have provided you each with a cage to contain your birds in." Moving back to the board in the room, she tapped it and the word "avis" appeared on the board. "This is the spell for conjuring birds. It is pronounced just like it looks. Avis. I will give you a quick demonstration of the spell."

She quickly crossed to her desk. Tapping the cage three times, she spoke the word and a flock of birds appeared inside. The birds were small, yellow canaries and quickly started to make a lot of noise. "As you can see, this will become a very loud lesson." She picked up the cage and moved to the window, quickly opening it and then the cage. She allowed the birds to fly free before shutting the window again. Turning back, she spoke as she replaced the cage. "Now it is again important to concentrate on exactly what kind of bird you wish to conjure. Please pay attention to detail. We don't want to have a bird that barks or anything like that."

She smiled before continuing. "If you need any inspiration, I have a few books on birds over on the shelf that you may feel free to use. Once you have your birds in the cage, I will grade you and then you may feel free to release them into the wild. Feel free to practice as many times as you wish. I will be walking around to help you as you need." She smiled, then with a nod of her head, dismissed them to work.

Homework: RP the lesson. Pictures of your conjured birds may be included if you wish. Have fun!

[justify]     Isabella Romanes entered the Transfiguration lesson, her issues with having trouble with her magic had faded and she was back to normal. That was a relief since she had been getting worried about her magic abilities, afraid that they were fading and then she'd turn into a squib. Her magenta eyes noticed that instead of a mirror being attached to the desks, there were instead a cage. Shrugging, the Slytherin Prefect took her seat, and she looked ahead at the class, thinking that they were going to do something ridiculous. The previous lesson had been rather cool to her. It was never long of a wait for her other classmates to arrive, seeing as once they had and were seated, the class could really begin with a greeting, and wondered what she was speaking of with eyebrows. Isabella had charmed the entire hair on top of her head. The smirk from her lips faded when they were told that they were going to be conjuring birds into the cage. It was not something that she wanted to do, but it would make sense for her.

The spell was called Avis, and Isabella had to remember that or else she would not be able to conjure the birds that she was thinking of. She didn't even know what she was going to conjure. She would just have to do what she could. She watched as the professor did it without so much as a hesitation. The lesson was going to become loud, fast, so she hoped that she would be able to do it. The yellow canaries were released to the wild, before the noise faded to silence. Isabella hoped that no one in here would make a bird that barked or else she would lose all concentration. She knew what she wanted to conjure. She just love hummingbirds. They didn't make many sounds at all. Once she flourished her wand, she concentrated on every part of their body, and she could see one in her mind. "Avis!" Six little hummingbirds filled her cage, buzzing around and making little noise, just as she had hoped. Isabella could hear the squawking of the other birds that were conjured as she took her cage up to the front to be graded. After she was graded, Isabella went back to her seat as she waited to be dismissed. Once they had, she grabbed her things and went off to take a potion or something for her headache.

Transfiguration was one of the classes that Sapphire adored the most. She had not done well in the past because of the issues with her voice but now that this was back Sapphire was doing very well in this class. She walked in and was brave enough to give Isabella a waive before taking a random seat. Sapphire wondered what they where going to be doing with the cages that where besides the desks. She didn't have long wonder though because Professor Black started to instruct them on the Avis spell. Sapphire watched closely her gem like eyes sparkling as she took in this new bit of information while at the same time trying to contain her artistic mind. It would fill the cage with rainbow colored birds with gold tipped wings or something like that,

The practice portion of the class started and Sapphire closed her eyes. She knew that she couldn't very well make the rainbow birds but she could do something else. Sapphire started to craft the birds carefully in her mind, every feather every scale on their feet, everything from the point of their beak to the very end of the longest talon was being sketched out in her mind. Sapphire opened her eyes at last and tapped the cage three times and said "Avis". One by one small and fluffy looking black birds started to fill the vage. Sapphire smiled to herself as she saw the detail that she had given them come to life. That very top of the wing joint she had each one a read spot. When the final bird filled the cage Sapphire saw that it was time to leave so she packed up her things leaving the small chirping black birds to Professor Black to deconjor.

Dymetris was wiped out all week. Qudditch was getting the best of him, if not most of this entire week. He had taken upon himself to work with the entire team, with an exception a few. Some of the newbies were getting it quite alright, a few others he hate to judge and say not so much. It be a good day when they can go an entire practice with no mistakes, one can't expect perfection. He at least asked if they could try a little more. Dymetris was fond of them mostly the second year, they were the eager one of the bunch while the eldest stood around exhausted from the team. Practice was practice, he could not wait for the break to come up. Dymetris had plans to spend with Faxen and have a much serious talk about what happen between and her that other guy. He'd been avoiding to confront her, it still bother him a lot.

He walked into Transfiguration, sat in his seat sort of besides her. He said hello to her, for the sake of everyone talking, he greeted her simply and paid attention to the lesson today. Frankly his heart was not into doing this at all. He was tired and his muscle was sore. A nonverbal spell made it no difference, Dymetris would have to concentrate and that inspired effort it doing so. So he sat down at his seat and waited for everyone else to do their lesson. He didn't get up at all, not once did he asked for help. He just sat there yawning, almost half asleep and in a daze. Everyone else in formal fashion did as they were told, when it was time to go he was left behind. He looked at his professor and smiled.

He shameless admitted not doing the lesson or take part in the lecture. He asked if she could demonstrate it for him again, whether she was about to or not, Dymetris did the best he could with his lesson, he took something to keep him awake and actually have the energy to do the lesson now. "Avis, Avis, Avis" he spoke multiple time. Dymetris had no luck with it, he stayed for an half hour and manage to conjure on single bird. As long as the deed was done he was fine with his effort, I mean he was forcing it out enough as she could see, and since that counted he left out of the classroom.

Faxen walked into the Transfiguration classroom with a bright smile on her face. She had been having a wonderful week even though she could tell there was something bugging Dymetris. She wasn't quite sure what it was but she had a feeling that it had to do with what she told him at the Halloween feast. Faxen wished he would just go ahead and get it off his chest. The brunette took her seat in the classroom. It wasn't long before Dymetris joined her. He slide into his seat beside Faxen. She smiled at him and touched his hand lightly. Faxen was very much in love with him and she hoped that he realized that. They spoke briefly until Professor Black began the lesson.

Today, they were going to be conjuring birds. Faxen looked at the big gold cages that they were supposed to put their birds into. Faxen had spent much of her childhood outdoors with her parents and her siblings. Her father had been a instructor with an adventure company. They had often gone camping. Her father had taught taught her about different kinds of birds. Jokingly, Faxen and her father had often tried to mimic familiar bird calls. The pretty brunette did not need to look at Professor Black's books. She knew what bird she would be conjuring.

Faxen took out her Oak wand. She pointed it at the empty space in the cage. She didn't know exactly how to do this. Taking a deep breath, her clear brown eyes narrowed in determination. She pictured a mockingbird's image in her mind. She concentrated on every detail of that bird until she had it perfectly transfixed in her mind. She pointed her wand at the cage and spoke one word. "Avis." A small flock of mockingbirds appeared inside the cage. They had always been her most favorite species of bird with their musical melodies. Faxen beamed with pride. She stood up and took the cage with her as she left the room.
