One and Two

Lesson One

Camille Jones walked quickly to class, her books clutched to her chest. She was excited, today was her first class of the year and she was always excited, however she knew that after a few weeks the novelty would wear off, and it would become the norm again. She walked into the classroom, taking a seat in the second row, she took out her notebook, and she smiled to herself as she took out her quill and ink. It was good to get back to routine, she missed the routine that came with attending school. Her year away had caused some problems, but she was getting over it now.

The professor began talking and she nodded along. She was glad she'd gotten some reading material this Summer. She'd read "A History of Magic." just a few weeks ago, and there had been a small section about Saint Mungo's, still she took down the things that the professor said, though she knew most of them already, it hadn't been long since she'd read it.

She curled her lip slightly at the homework-it wouldn't be too hard, not that it ever was. The professors tended to give you the tools you needed for it, and this she knew she could do.

Lesson Two

Camille Jones walked slowly to class, after a week back, her enthusiasm had waned, and once more she was used to the normality of school life. She liked Herbology, she liked being outside, and she liked the plants, though often the most beautiful were the most deadly. She smiled at the professor as she entered, and took a seat in the second row. According to his instruction she took out a quill and parchment and began writing. As she raised her head there was a slight intake of breath. There was a very odd looking plant at the top of the room. She nodded to herself, wondering how anyone would ever poke something like that.

She took down the notes and homework. Smiling as she rose from her seat. The rest of the day was her own. She'd do some study, but she was going to enjoy herself.

Homework

Bubotuber Pus:

Bubotuber pus has valuable healing powers, often used for acne, however when undiluted it can be very dangerous, causing painful, large, yellow boils to form on the skin. They are usually handled with care, while using Dragonhide gloves. It is advisable not to touch the swellings on the plant, but the only way to gather the pus is to squeeze them. One must be very careful when doing so.

Lesson Four

Camille walked slowly into the Herbology Greenhouse and looked aorund her. She didn't dislike plants, and she didn't like them. But Herbology was a core subject, so she really had no choice but to take it. She stepped further into the Greenhouse and glanced at the other students around her. There were only a few studnets actually in the class. She shook her head and sat in one of the available seats in the middle of the row. She waited as the Professor started to explain things at a million miles a minute. She struggled slightly to keep up as she quickly grabbed all her equiptment and followed Professor Blaze and the other students out the door. Camille watched as they reached their destination and waited. She listened carefully and squirmed slightly when the plant actually moved. She hadn't exactly been expecting it. This was one of the reasons she didn't like plants all that much. She didn't like how it wiggled, and the pus was gross. She nodded, she had watched the angle carefully and nodded, she didn't want to get pus on her. She calmed herself down, and moved closer to the plants and looked at them. She picked up one of the bottles from her bucket and held it to the Bubotuber plant. Camille was careful to ensure that the bottle was angeled correctly to the Bubotuber and squeezed each boil, wearing a frown on her face. This is gross, she had to admit, but she continued and when she was done, she looked at her work and nodded. Good job. Camille nodded at the handiwork and followed the Professor back to the Green house. When Professor Blaze mentioned that there was no homework, Camille smiled hapily and went on her merry way.

Lesson(s) Making Up For: Lesson 3
It was strange how the oddest, most insignificant items of everyday life could cause such a mixture of emotions in a person. How something which might be trivial and useless to someone could be a lifesaver to another, how this things could make or break someone's day.

Raziel Kim, a boy with platinum blond hair tied in a messy ponytail, frowned as he dug through his bag for the nth time for the past thirty minutes, deeply concentrated on his search for that certain thing. He had checked every pocket, every possible place where he could have placed it, he was really sure that just last night, it was still there. Yet, no matter how many times he search, no matter if he turn his bag upside down, inside out, the result is just the same, it's not there; his precious chocolates are missing. He paced in circles restlessly, unconsciously tugging the end of his hair, glancing at the clock from time to time. Great, just great, on top of not finding his chocolates, he was about to be late too. Raziel bit his lips and looked down, feeling like he was going to cry. He didn't want to be late, but he didn't want to let his precious chocolates to be gone too. He bit his lips harder this time, fighting the urge to let his emotions get the best of him. He was torn between staying and turning the whole room upside down in search of his chocolates and going to class. He gauge which one is better, and, with a heavy feeling, he quickly put his things back to his bag, bolting out of the room and running as fast as his feet could take him.

He jumped the last few steps of the stairs, almost having his face planted on the floor as he lost his balance, thankfully though, he managed to grab hold of the handrail before he completely embarrass himself. Why must life be so hard to him today? He's not a bad kid, is he? As far as he could remember, he had never hurt anyone, even a small fly. Pouting a little, Raziel ran again, thoughts about the earlier incident pushed at the back of his mind. He wouldn't want to think about his misfortunes now, after all, he may attract more bad luck if he do so. Yes, he wasn't done emo-ing over the loss of his chocolates just yet, but he didn't want to dwell over it at the moment. He'll emo over it again after he's done with his class, after all, herbology is one of his favorites, and their professor's interesting name may keep him from thinking about the less of his beloved chocolates again.

After a few minutes of running, walking, and running again, Raziel finally arrived at the greenhouse. It's the combination of the red and blue house again. With a heavy sigh, the young boy proceeded to his seat. Instantly dropping his bag to the ground as he sat on the weird way of his. He stretched a little as he fought to see their professor who had already started on discussing the things that they were about to do for the day. Raziel wasn't particularly tall, but it's not like he was too short either, so it is in his annoyance that his classmates' heads were blocking his view at the moment. He couldn't remember this ever happening before. Great, not only does the loss of his chocolates caused him to be almost late, it is decreasing his height too, which is impossible of course. It cannot be possible that he'll get shorter just because he wasn't able to eat chocolates right? He blinked his eyes a few times then, concentrating at the task at hand, but the disappointment of not being able to see their professor clearly is still visible in his face. Slowly, he pulled his bag from the ground, taking out his writing materials in order to take notes.

Pumpkin - believed to have originated in North America, where the Native Americans dried strips of Pumpkin and wove them into mats.

- The original name was Pepon, which was Greek for large melon. Through many different translations, it then became known as Pumpkin

- widely known for being served at feasts as Pumpkin Pie, but it's notoriety comes from its established tradition at Halloween.
He stared at his notes, barely noticing that the other occupants of the room are already moving out, as ordered by their professor. It had only registered to him when he raised his head and so the last few students who are still gathering their gardening tools. He quickly put his parchment, quill and ink back to his bag, and as quickly too, he started to get his gardening tools too. He followed the rest of the students to the pumpkin patch. Was they supposed to plant now? It seemed like it indeed. He absentmindedly wore his gloves and took his own pumpkin seed and proceeded to vacant space near the other blue students. He heard their professor instruct them to get down on their knees and start planting the seeds, but it is only at the last moment that Raziel had followed. He got down on his knees and dug a small hole in the ground, and slowly, he dropped the seed, not without him bidding the said seed his goodbye. "Grow up good, alright?" He whispered as he managed to give a small smile before he refill the hole once again. Patting the soil lightly as they were told. He then gave it a generous amount of water as told. Bobbing his head a little in sync of a song that he was singing inside his head. He cheered quite loudly when their professors instructed them to bring out their wands. Great, just great. "Sementis medicates" He said clearly, from his experience, someone wouldn't follow you if you didn't give the instructions clearly, though of course, having a wand out was very different from that. And no more than a few seconds later, the sprout emerged from the ground and thickened into a vine, a small bud then flowered, then bloomed before the petals fell and a small pumpkin was now present in front of him. "Woah.. you grew up real fast.." He poked the small pumpkin then, smiling giddily as he watch the other students' pumpkins.

Lesson(s) Making Up For: Lesson 4
It's not his fault. Really. It wasn't even his intention. Why did he end up from being overly bored to overly depressed? He was blaming the coffee, but deep inside, he knew that it didn't have anything to do with his frustration. Raziel Kim lay on the couch inside the Ravenclaw common room as he finished dressing up to his uniform, bag left forgotten at the floor, with some of his books scattered around him. He felt the tiredness and body ache crawl over his body as he let his muscles relax. It was tiring, really tiring. For someone like Raziel, his life seems like a cycle nowadays. Believe it or not, he was always busy, busy with school, and now, the upcoming exams also have to add to his tiredness as well. He wished he could just drop something so his schedule could be free and he could have at least a wink of sleep. But what will he drop then? Drop school? raziel wouldn't and never will. That would simply be ridiculous. He would never drop the opportunity of studying magic just for him to take a nap and have a rest. Dropping school would also mean that he'll lose communication with the already few friends that he have. And dropping school would also mean that he'll be back to his normal life. Plenty of rest yes, but plenty of boredom too. So No, he didn't have the heart to drop it. School could never be dropped.

The throbbing on his head got worse and he stood up to massage it carefully. Now, how was he supposed to take a nap for at least a few minutes before he needed to walk down the numerous amount of stairs for him to reach the greenhouse again? With a sigh, he jumped off the couch, searching his bag for a bar of chocolate or even a piece of candy, but to his luck, he found none. Enthusiasm and energy slowly leaving him, Raziel looked up to check the time. He only have enough to not be late for class, no time to have a detour and grab some sweets from the kitchen. Great, no sweets, no energy. Yes, just great indeed. Slowly, he picked up his books and put it back on his bag, this would just have to do for the day. He'll just have to go to the kitchen on his next free period to see what sweets he may find there. With another sigh, he went out of the ravenclaw house, shoulders slumped and his blond hair tied in a small and messy ponytail.

Minutes, which seemed like eternity for him, then passed. He slowly lifted his head, seeing the greenhouse not to far away from him. not even the thought of seeing his favorite professor whose name he finds to be so interesting could life his spirits up. He's just so.. depressed right now if that would be the right word for what he is feeling. He bit on his lips, a habit he had acquired whenever he's forcing himself to do something. Dragging his feet, he slowly entered the greenhouse, looking as if he didn't even want to be there. Which is highly unusual. Raziel Kim may always have the same impassive expression, but he never did feel the want to just get out of a room. But at the moment, that's everything that he could ever think of. Lay on his bed, surrounded by chocolates and sweets, that would surely be paradise.

He lazily dropped his bag as soon as he reached his seat. He surely made some sound, but he paid it no attention. He once again sat in the weird way of his, knees close to his chest, he rested his chin on top of his kneecaps. His eyelids feel a little heavy, and he had this urge to just drop his head and sleep. Raziel bit on his lips even harder, struggling to keep himself awake. He needs to listen to the professor. He cannot possibly disrespect him by sleeping on his class. That's a bit No. But what is he supposed to do then? Though he's a wizard, he's still just human, he cannot sleep and listen at the same time, he cannot do both things at once, but still, he needs to recharge. Why is life so hard, really? Why can't he be something that doesn't need to sleep or rest so that he can function 24/7 for the whole year? But that's quite impossible. Still, he can wish, right? He seriously wishes to be something like that now, because by being like that, he doesn't need to burden other people and he didn't need to drop something just because he needed some rest. Raziel's chest heaved and he felt quite saddened. These thoughts, however, instantly faded as he saw the class go out to the pumpkin patch again. Great? See, just like before, he didn't hear the professor's instruction. He stood up from his seat, grabbed his bag, and looked at what the other remaining students are doing. He supposed that they're supposed to wear their workrobes and gloves once again. He also grabbed his pruning spears just as what his classmates did. Only with his index finger and thumb though, so it's quite difficult to carry it out to the pumpkin patch without it slipping from his hold. But still. he didn't want to hold them is the normal way that others did. There's no real reason behind it, he just act like that. As he arrived at the pumpkin patch, he heard their professor told them to lok for their pumpkin, which he lazily followed. He quickly found his and kneel in front of it. "hi, little one.. you've grown real good." He muttered as he poked the pumpkin. He then carefully snip the pumpkin from its vine by the use of the pruning spear. It had been quite hard with the way that he is holding it, but he had managed. He reached out for his wand then as he was told. "Wingardium Leviosa." And in a matter of less than a second, the pumpkin levitated. Following the others to the caste, he saw the same creatures that he would often see in the kitchens. Now the next words really lifted his spirit up. He could tell the house elves what he wanted his pumpkin to be. "Can it turn into a pumpkin chocolate fudge please?" He said, smiling brightly at the house elf in front of it. Who knows that this day could actually be better? Worries now gone, and now fully excited to how his pumpkin will turn out as a chocolate fudge, raziel went back to the greenhouse along with the rest of the class. He can't want for his pumpkin chocolate fudge now.

Lesson: Lesson 5

Taylor skipped down to the greenhouse for one of her favourite lessons, Herbology. She thoroughly enjoyed the last couple of lessons and was excited to find out what they would be doing this lesson. Yes! she thought to herself, she hadn't been in the forbidden forest yet and they would be gathering mistletoe, brilliant! She remembered at the family parties back home they used to hang up mistletoe and she used to get kissed under it by various family members. She was excited to hear that there would be something similar would be happening at Hogwarts, the Yule ball.

She grabbed her gloves, pruning shears and her bag and followed the professor outside. Taylor was a bit disappointed that they were not going very far into the forest but did as the professor instructed. She scoured the bushes and trees for mistletoe. Taylor put on her gloves and and grabbed her pruning shears and clipped off some sprigs of mistletoe and dropped them in her bag.

They soon returned to the greenhouse and Taylor cut the sprigs of mistletoe as indicated by the professor, she had gone through a few before the end of class. She did as the professor told them and put the scraps into the barrel and the mistletoe into the trough. Taylor took off her gloves and walked out of the greenhouse and back up to the castle.

Lesson(s) Making Up For: Lesson 4
Unlike the previous lesson where Raziel felt really guilty for ever thinking of dropping something out of his schedule to just take a rest or even just a really short nap, Raziel is really excited for this day. Last lesson, they had their pumpkins turned into anything that they like, and him, being a big fan of anything that is sweet, had requested for it to be turned into pumpkin chocolate fudge. He had really enjoyed it, so much that he had been really excited to attend the class that he had barely gotten enough sleep the last night. Alright, getting no sleep may not be good at all, but as excited as he was, he could care no less. With a small smile plastered on his usually impassive face, Raziel Kim skipped his way down to the greenhouse. Even the long flight of stairs that he needed to take didn't faze him. He was just so looking forward to whatever it was that they would learn for the day. Maybe they'll get the opportunity to turn something into what they want to again?

He jumped on his seat as soon as he entered the greenhouse. On the outside, he may look like the usual him, seemingly not caring of what is happening, or just too deep involved in his own little world, but in reality, though it may not show on his face, nor was the small smile barely noticeable, Raziel was really happy. He became even more interested when he heard that they were to go into the forbidden forest to get some mistletoe. He wasn't sure whether mistletoe could be turned into chocolate, but well... he may be able to know now, right? However, all these assumptions were proven false as he heard that the reason that they are to gather mistletoe is for the upcoming yule ball. He didn't what the yule ball was, but whatever it is, he was sure that it was not some sort of a dessert. He was utterly disappointed, but even that didn't show on his face as he lazily took his gloves, pruning shears and bag which was handed to them by their professor. And opposite to fast he had arrived to the greenhouse, the young ravenclaw slowly followed the others out. What is the use of running which if he won't get to have what he wants anyways? His interest and enthusiasm is already gone. Thrown out of the window as easy as that. He stopped as soon as the others did. And just like they were told, he wore his gloves and grabbed his pruning shears. He really had no interest in what they were doing. So, instead of doing what the others was doing, he just looked up and looked at the clouds. They attract his attention more than the mistletoe that they were asked to take anyways. Minutes passed and as Raziel looked down to check what his classmates were doing, he was amazed to see how nearly full their bags were already. With little to none enthusiasm and with little time left, Raziel decided to finally do the task. Using his pruning spears, which he had already been used to holding with his whole hand, he cliped off the sprigs and put them in his bag.

His bag was barely full when they were lead back to the greenhouse. He cut the sprigs of the mistletoe that he got as instructed by the professor, he was done before the end of the class. He followed the other students as they put the scraps into the barrel and the mistletoe in the through. With no words, Raziel took off his gloves and quickly left the greenhouse.

Scaredy cat + Pantophobic + Fainter

Name: Andy Hydran
Year: Four Year
Lesson(s) Making Up For: Lesson 1, Lesson 2, Lesson 3, Lesson 4

Lesson 1

Andy wondered slowly to the green house that he would be going to for some time. He didn't really like Herbology, it was so messy and dirty, and the plants were scary and always made him jump. The Professor wasn't too bad, but the students were less than desirable, and the work they had to do was terrifying. He sighed slightly, and then started coughing from some loose dirt that floated through the air. What a wonderful start to the day. He sat down quietly, and patted his chest before it closed up and he died. He looked at the Professor carefully, he didn't know how to describe the Professor, or his class, so he shrunk down in his seat, and made sure that the plants were near him as he listened to the Professor speak. Andy sighed, the Professor had to remind him about OWLs next year, just brilliant, but he tilted his head at the end of his sentence. St Mungo's was apparently nice, he had never been there personally, but his Aunty had been trying for years to get him to go, for whatever reason, but hospitals scared Andy, so he would always refuse and would hide under his bed if she even looked like she was going to meantion the subject, but atleast it didn't seem like they would be doing anything practical.

Andy nodded, so they would be helping out St. Mungos and the hospital wing? That didn't sound too bad, hopefully he didn't stuff any thing up and wind up poisoning someone, he would never be able to forgive himself. As he was listening, Andy's attention was taken away when he saw a bug, a big, yellow, and seriously ugly bug. He froze, why was a huge, ugly bug near him?! The blood that once ran through his face, ran away to his feet and they grew numb, his face lost all colour, and his eyes just stared at the bug with terror filled in them. As the Professor said something, hopefully along the lines of 'leave', Andy jumped up, and bolted out of the room. He was lucky it didn't touch him, or that he didn't faint, because he was close to it.
Lesson 2

Andy frowned and sneezed as he entered the Herbology classroom, he was really not liking these classes, but he had to go to them, it was a nessesity. He nodded to the Professor sat sat down quietly, sighing slightly as he did so. He lent on his hand and watched the Professor. Andy wasn't feeling the best today, mainly because he saw a spider earlier, and it has completely ruined his whole mood for the day. Andy couldn't stand spiders, or any other creepy crawlies, even humans put him on edge. The only thing that gave him the smallest amount of comfort was the fact that if he was in Herbolgy, he was not in Defence Against the Dark Arts. It wasn't that Andy didn't like the class, he just didn't like the Professor, darkness, the cold, people, creepy-crawlies, and some of his classmates were rather odd to the poor Ravenclaw. Not that his Herbology classmates weren't odd, because they were the same students, and the Professors cheery attitude made Andy wonder why he was not a clown or something of that nature, someone that was so happy should be caring for sad people, not teaching a class of students. Or maybe it was just the fact that he was worried about why he was so happy that led him to think like this.

Andy looked at the wriggling plant and watched it with disbelief as it wiggled around. It smelt strong of petrol, whcih caused Andy to have a head spin. He wasn't exactly sure on the plant this time, the plant made him want to throw up his breakfast, and he immediately started worrying about it. What if he had accidently touched the plants puss? What if he killed something? What if he accidently put the puss on a classmate and they hated him forever? He'd feel so guilty. He listened and watched as the class became involved with the subject, but he chose to stay quiet and very still so he was not noticed. He sighed slightly and stood up as the lesson closed and the class was dismissed. This year was not going to be fun.
Lesson 3

Andy joined the other students at the Greenhouse he usually had Herbology in and sighed. Why did Herbology have to be so scary ad odd? Why couldn't it be nice, normal and pleasent? He sighed again, and went to sit down, but before he could sit down, Professor Blaze was telling them all to take a pair of goggles on the way out. Where would they be going? What would they be doing? Andy didn't like the sound of this already. But he didn't have to wait long to find out and his expression was far from impressed. Cultivationg Bubotubers. Oh dear the spirits. Andy listened to the Professor's instructions and he knew the consequences should he accidentally poke one of the swellings- and it would not be pretty, in fact, he would probably faint it the plant even moved too quickly for him.

Andy's work gloves and robes on, goggles already on his face, he carefuly set about taking a handful of dung, very very slowly. It took him several minutes to even consider looking at the stuff, and seemingly the whole lesson to actually touch, he was scared, he didn't want to touch the stuff at all. With his arms spread far away from his small frame, he carefully spread it about, as evenly as he could over the plants and as quickly as his could. Andy was doing well, je hadn't fainted yet, but he felt it coming on and his face going paler than a brand new rubber. The lesson was almost over now and Andy sat down on the ground, far away from the work place of course. His heartbeat was skipping and his hands were shaking, but he was okay, sort of.. After his gloves and robes were cleaned and Andy had removed them, he collected his bag and left for the castle. He needed to rest after that, before he fell to the floor and fainted.

Lesson Four

Andy stood silently in the Herbology classroom, he was nervous already, it seemed to come on everytime he walked through the dooor. At first he just stood there, staring at the buckets that he was supposed to take and use, he didn't want to use the buckets, it was only then that he remembered why he was not looking forward to this lesson and why he particularly did not want to use these buckets. Andy stood in his work robes and gloves, he was all set to follow the Professor, but he couldn't, not without some gentle pushing by his cousins. Andy slowly followed Professor Blaze from the greenhouse and to the bubotuber field. He wrinkled his nose in disgust and horror, he wasn't going to be able to do this, not without fainting. He looked at the bucket, the plant and the bottle, then shook his head. No. This was not going to work. He could not do this. His heart was already beating fast, his palms were already sweating, and his eyes were already clouded with fear. He couldn't do this. He looked at the Professor pleadly, prehaps he would be allowed to sit this part out? Maybe? Andy stood timidly, just watched people work, no-one seemed too happy with the job, but they were able to do it. But Andy was different, he couldn't bring himself to do this, he knew what the outcome would be, he'd faint, most definately, and he hadn't fainted in a class for so long, he didn't want it to happen again. "I can't... I'm sorry..." He muttered quietly.

At long last, the lesson had ended. Andy's robes were stil completely clean and fresh, something that was a small relief to the Ravenclaw, he hated going against Professors, especially Professor Blaze, but unless he wanted to faint, he couldn't do it, and he hoped that Porfessor Blaze undertood that. He followed the rest of the students back to the classroom where he packed up his things, packed away and left the classroom. He was so glad that he was able to aviod fainting, but still felt horrible about his actions.

Lesson Five

Andy had Herbology again. It would be a lie to say he wasn't glad that the term was over but that didn't mean to say he hadn't enjoyed some of his lessons, every once in awhile he found that atleast one class was bareable, but most were absolutely horrifying. He joined the other students in the greenhouse, waiting for the lesson to begin. Andy took out his quill, ink and parchment to make notes, though his hands were a little bit shaky, so he was sure he wouldn;t be making any, not any readable ones anyway. His hands were shaky because he had seen another spider today, it was becoming unbearable, why couldn't all spiders simply die? Andy paused, quill still poised and ready to take notes. He set down his quill, pulled on his gloves and walked to the Abyssinian Shrivelfigs, taking one. He then returned to his seat and awaited further instructions. Though he was very careful to keep a safe distance form the plant, it looked a little scary to the poor Ravenclaw.

Andy watched the Professor's demonstration but couldn't help wondering why someone would want to spend their days caring for plants. It wasn't that Andy didn't like the subject, as such, because he did, in a weird so of way, but he couldn't have coped with having a job like Professor Blaze had, teaching kids he didn't know how to tend for plants, it seemed too scary to consider. Andy shook his head and put his thoughts aside and focused on the Professors demonstration. Now it was the class's turn to try pruning the Shrivelfigs. Andy took his sheers in his wand hand carefully, and peered closely at the plant. Andy whinced slightly as he put a piece of the plant between the two sheer blades, and slowly starting closing them, not lookeding at the plant. In fact, he was loking over his shoulder with his eyes squeezed shut, as if the plant was going to blow up at any time. After seemedingly forever, Andy managed to fix the plant up, but he was heavily behind, he quickly grabbed a basket and pushed all the removed parts in there.

The lesson was over and Andy packed his things away. The only trouble he'd had with the lesson was that he didn't like cutting things. Thankfully, he had not cut himself during this endeavour. He sighed and left the classroom quickly.
