Today would be another day where the students would remain within the grounds of Hogwarts, unfortunately, but he knew that he couldn’t have his students out on a fieldtrip everyday and they had to do some proper theory work. It was times like this he disliked being a Professor because he remembered what it was like for him when he was a student, theory lessons were far from his favourite thing in the World. It was a lovely day too as the summer weather in New Zealand never seemed to fail. Waiting for his students to arrive he summoned a few blankets and pillows for students to get comfortable with on the ground as taking notes wasn’t all that easy while standing up. “Hello everyone. Today will be a theory day so please take a blanket and or a pillow and get yourselves comfortable.” he told his class as they started to arrive. While they got comfortable he took the register and when everyone had arrived he started the class.

“Today class, we will be studying a hippocampus. These are not to be mixed up with a muggle animal called a Hippopotamus” Harry said, chuckling, hoping the joke wouldn’t be lost on any of his students, or at least the comparison in words. “A Hippocampus is animal native to Greece. It has the head, and forequarters of a horse, and the tail and hindquarters of a fish.” Harry wasn’t surprised to hear a few chuckles among the students, he was pretty sure that he had the same reaction when he first heard about them. “Yes, yes, it does seem funny” Harry agreed with a lopsided grin. “Unfortunately I don’t have an image of one on me, but if you are really interested in what one looks like I’m sure you’ll find an image in the library.” he told the class, fighting the urge to add on ‘if you all know where that is.’

“Hippocampuses generally live in the Mediterranean Sea but have been known to be found elsewhere. Interestingly enough, this ties in with last week, a fair few years ago; some Hippocampuses were caught in Scotland by a group of Merpeople. Female Hippocampuses lay large semi-transparent eggs, which hatch in around six moths of being laid. The babies are called Tadfoals, and Tadfoals are generally considered adults at around the age of four.” Harry said, reaslising just how much he talked. He may not like having to take theory lessons but when he did he always got into it as he was lucky to be very passionate about his subject. “Field trip next lesson eh?” Harry asked with a small laugh. “Class dismissed.” he told them all before watching them pack up their things.
