Sara was still, very excited. She had gotten the seeker position months ago and she was still taken by shock. She was the youngest member of the team, and she felt she owed it to practice really hard-to prove that they'd chosen the right person. Walking briskly out on the pitch she began by flying around the pitch three times, starting slowly, then rising to her top speed. She let go of herself in the air, screaming with delight as she dived toward the ground. Next, she did some turning practice, she twisted in and out between the hoops of the goals, trying harder and sharper turns each time. She had done this routine before and had become used to it, so, descending to ground level, she took out what had been her latest idea for practice. She had convinced an older student to enchant some golf-balls, so that they could fly. Letting one go free, she mounted her broom and chased after it. Of course-it wasn't as fast as the snitch, but she didn't think she was allowed use the school snitch for personal practice, so she had to make do. She deliberately hovered in the air a few moments, hoping that the golf-ball would be further away and she would have more of a challenge in finding it. She sped skyward, and was glad to find her idea had worked, after a few moments searching, she saw the golf-ball and dived toward it, catching it easily-it really was a pity she couldn't use the snitch. Golf-ball in hand, she dived to ground level, pulling up about a metre from the ground, just in time to pull her broom from underneath her and stand straight. To an onlooker, this move looked reckless, but Sara had worked on it and was confident she wouldn't be hurt. She replaced the golf-ball in it's pack and sat down on the sideline, wondering what she should do next. |
