Kalif strolled into Greenhouse three. The man was still not used to the children around him everyday, and naturally, he appeared like a man who meant business and often been classified as "cold", "frightening" and "intimidating". He glanced at the schedule. He murmured, “Second year students. Surely they know where to go.” As the class walked in, Kalif stood up and raised his hand for silence. He took role and put the sheet down with the students’ names on it. He introduced in a cold voice, “Welcome to Herbology, your second year, no doubt.” He waited for a moment. “As you remember from the previous year, I am Professor Styx. In addition, this will be an interesting year for all of you." Then again, he wasn't the type of professor to be easily forgotten about. Kailf walked over to the blackboard and softly tapped it. A picture of a horrid plant, with roots that looked like a wriggling baby. His gaze went back to the children. “You will be growing your own Mandrake, as some might already know from the previous second years. It will be challenging, and I won’t expect nothing but your best. Your grade depends on it.” Kalif noticed that his voice was a bit sharp, so, to further explain it, he softened, “You will be planting, cultivating, and by the time your exams will arrive, will be the chopping it. I need to examine your gardening skills, just to refresh you.” Kalif motioned for them to follow him outside into the autumn air. His black robs fluttered a bit in the breeze. He pointed at the site set up for each student to plant one thing. Tools were already for them. He handed a small burlap pouch to each student. He informed, “This garden is enchanted and everything will grow at an accelerated rate. I will stand over you and watch. Now, get down on your knees.” After everyone had done so, he continued, “Put the packet to the side and till the soil. I have prepare an example for you over there.” He pointed at the tilled soil he had done earlier that morning. It shown that the dirt was mixed and softened, and a small hole around three inches deep and two inches wide all around. “Once your hole is prepared, take the packet and drop it in. Cover it with the dirt you had dug up before, and give it a light pat. Don’t compact the dirt or the seeds will have a hard experience growing. Then get your water cans and give it a small amount of water and see if you had done it right. Watch me first.” Kalif walked over to his and put the packet in, and done all the steps he had told the children. He watched his seed grow rapidly and within a minute, a bloomed Daisy had replaced the scene of plain dirt. He turned back to the students, “Everyone should have Daisies, and will look similar to this. Begin the watering process.” Kalif watched them do what he had told for them to do. After everyone was finished, he walked back over to his Daisy. “It is time to harvest. This is a burlap satchel resting beside me. You will gently pull the Daisy out, roots included.” He pulled out his well-grown Daisy and put it into the satchel rather gently. He waited for everyone to finish up. He motioned for the students to follow. “Well done, if I must say so myself.” He closed the satchel. “The class will end rather soon. Go collect your things from the greenhouse. Remember, you’ll have to clean your tools and put them away. You won’t have to today, since it is your first day back, and we are on short time. I’ll cut you some slack, but don’t expect it much. Just one moment, if you please.” He flicked out his wand and casted ‘Scourgify’ non-verbally to remove any dirt on robes and shoes. “I assume you know how to wash your hands to remove dirt from fingernails and such.” Kalif joined them in the greenhouse. He gave them a small smirk, “Write an essay on the uses of Daises in the magical world.” He heard some groans. If he was in a good mood, then usually, seeing the children acting like this would have brought out a snicker or a sly smile out of the undercover Death Eater. --Isaia Romanes was not looking forward to Herbology because the nervous boy would get only worse. Professor Styx was a hardcore, and scariest professor in the entire school. And the most strict. He could not believe that Professor Styx was the Head of Slytherin House, which was Isabella's Head. It was rather awkward. Isaia entered the greenhouses, and took a seat. He was the first student into the classroom and he felt really scared for being in the same room with him. And then the rest of the class came in and sat down. Once everyone was seated, the professor took role and then started to talk to them. Isaia could never forget such a professor because he was hard to forget anyway. Then he walked over to the blackboard. He tapped it and then the most grotesque thing appeared on the blackboard. What in the world was that? Then he realized what it was. A Mandrake. Isaia remembered what his sisters had told him from their adventures with the Mandrakes, and not to get too attached to it. Isaia gulped when he heard that their grade depended on it. Why would he say something like that? It just scared poor Isaia even more. --Then they were led outside for some planting. Tools were already laid out for them, and everything looked really good. Isaia was glad that Professor Styx had set everything up for the second years. And the garden was enchanted so that everything would grow at an accelerated rate. Isaia got down on his knees just as the professor ordered and set his burlap sack down next to him. After Professor Styx demonstrated, everything seemed in order. He started to till the soil, and then dug a small hole. He dropped the packet into the hole and covered it with dirt, but did not compact the dirt. Isaia then watered the soil where the packet was. And then the daisy popped out of the ground. It grew so fast, Isaia had fallen back in shock. But he regained his position, and he gently pulled the daisy out, with the roots. He put the daisy into the satchel and closed it. Professor Styx cast the cleaning spell on them. They went to the greenhouse, washed their hands and then were given homework. Isaia packed his things and left the classroom to do the homework.
