Are you interested in helping develop characters? We thank you for your interest. ^_^
On HNZ, we know that developing a character to the fullest possible extent can be fun, exciting, stressful, and very rewarding - and we also know that we have a wonderful community willing to help others develop their characters. So how can you help in this process?

  • Read some Topics
There are always some characters that could be developed - but you don't have to be responsible for developing them all. Just read through some topics in the Character Development Forum. Maybe one will jump out at you. That's the one you should help with.
  • Reply to the Topic(s)
This might seem like the tricky part, but it's really not. Nobody could possibly leave you with no questions at all about their character. No real person is that fully developed, so how could a character made by such a person be? There should always be a question unanswered. Just post anything you're left wondering. For instance, I like to leave the poster with a question that they likely have not thought of before: Can your character dance?, What's your character's favourite colour?, What's your character's favourite flavour of cookie, Where is your character's birth mark?. You get the idea, and I'm sure you can do similar things as well.
  • Subscribe to the topic
After you have posted in a character development, you've likely taken personal interest in that character. So why not take the time to track the topic? Simply view it, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Track Topic link which is by the board clock. You can then be notified of any further replies.
  • Be patient, and don't take it personally
Sometimes it takes a person a while to reply to their development topic again. Sometimes they never reply. It's happened to the best of us, I fear, and it's a risk you take. While the user may not ever come to appreciate the time you took to try to help them, we certainly do. I know how much it can take, even to offer a few simple questions - and when such time is invested in to something, you want to see something come of it. However, for every one person that may not answer questions, there are surely several more that will.

This should answer most questions you have about developing characters. However, if you have any more, please feel free PM a member of Site Staff!
