Lola sat behind at the desk of the muggle studies desk, filling in once more for another absent professor. In front of her was an old rubber boot, their Portkey to a Muggle hotel in which she had rented out a room for them to continue their lesson on television.

Once the class filed in, she grinned at them all brightly.
"Hello class, not exactly who you were expecting am I?" she greeted them with a wink, "your Muggle Studies professor is absent so for today you'll be stuck with me," she said to them with an encouraging smile.

She got up and stood in front of the desk, holding out the boot, knowing it was about to turn blue any moment now.
"Today we'll be traveling to a hotel room in a very Muggle populated area for your lesson on Muggle television," she informed them, knowing they had done something similar last week but this week they'd be watching and learning about something different. As the boot grew blue she said to them all,
"Quick, put a finger!" and without further ado they were whisked away into a hotel room in a Muggle hotel of New Zealand.

There was an extremely large flat screen tv in the room with plenty of seating for them all. As the students got comfortable, Lola went to the front of the television for their attention and began the lesson.
"Before we get to watching some more television," she began, "I'm going to give you a bit of background info. Last week you all watched scripted shows, shows that have stories written for fictional characters. Today we will be learning about reality television instead," she informed them.

"Reality television is a type of tv genre where there are no characters, and no scripted scenarios, mostly made up of filming people in abnormal situations. It first started in the 1950's, however it really became popular around the 1990's - 2000's. I guess watching people make fools of themselves on television was wildly entertaining at that time," she said with a laugh. "Not to mention that reality stars seemed to become celebrities overnight just for being on tv," she added randomly, though it was truth.

"There are different types of reality television. There are the documentaries, that film the subject in everyday life, there are quiz or game shows, competitions, social experiments, and others purely for entertainment value! Today we will be watching different reality tv shows that will demonstrate each of these," she continued. "There are entirely way too many tv shows to show them all to you, so I've just chosen a few so you all can get the general idea," she explained.

Lola grabbed a DVD from within the backpack she'd brought and put it into the DVD player, chuckling as some of the students questioned what it was and what she was doing. With her wand she summoned large bowls of popcorn and cans of soda, a Muggle drink no less, hyping them up with sugar couldn't be too bad could it?, and they landed in front of all the students.
"Enjoy," she said with a wink before settling into an armchair to watch the television, shaking her head as some students wolf-whistled and cheered as she dimmed the lights.
