A large grandstand stood to the left of the judging platform, both of which faced a dark forest. The sun was bright in the sky as a cool wind settled over the land. This day was the first task of the TriWizard tournament. This tournament was protected more than all others before it. Only students and staff, along with known guests, had been portkeyed to this undisclosed, unplottable location deep in France to watch the events of the day unfold.

Gustav sauntered around the stands that were slowly filling up with people. He was far more excited to watch the first task of the TriWizard Tournament than he appeared, if only for the fact that there were so many more people he was able to meet. Granted, it would have been a lot better if there were more Hogwarts and Durmstrang students to talk to, but sometimes one had to make do. Somehow it seemed like the Beauxbatons students were flowing out of the wood works. He had never appreciated just how many students attended until he cast his eyes over the stands and took in the throng. Gustav could only imagine what it would have been like if he had been a champion, himself. One year off, he lamented. He would never get another chance like the one that awaited Aubrey Derlinch. He would have been envious if he had cared half a fig about her. As it was, Gustav was only there to see if anyone got lynched by some vicious forest creature.

He wondered about the first task. It was quite a long way into the dark woodland. Gustav had paid no attention to the hint at all, for it didn't apply to him. Only now did he regret that notion. Anything to do with darkness must be somehow related to cold, and Gustav was freezing himself senseless in a loose white cotton sweater. It would be quite some time before the weighing of the wands was over. Until then, he might as well lurk around for a bit of action.

Mia made her way to where the spectators were to sit for the First Task of the TWT. She was excited as to see how the whole thing would play out. When she had learned that the TWT was being held at Beauxbatons this year she was instantaneously interested as to what it was and the past of it. When she had learned about it's full past she was somewhat hesitant about it but she was not a competitor so she let the hesitance ease away and be replaced with excitement. The Tournament itself was an exciting thing to behold and even though she didn't know the school's champion she knew she would bring her school pride, having being chosen by the Goblet was enough to prove that. As she took her seat and waited for the first task to start she slipped her current book out of her bag and began to read it, simply to pass the time.

Sebastian was excited to see the first task of the Triwizard tournament and left the castle early so that he could get a good seat. Dangerous or not, he knew that the champions would be up to the challenge otherwise they wouldn't have been picked. Climbing up the stands, Sebastian took a seat midway. He glanced around the seats, wondering if anyone he knew was already there. So far, he didn't see anyone, but he knew that most if not all of the students were on their way.

Clemence was dragged to watch the TriWizard Tournament by Maria and Genevieve, who only seemed to be interested in the social aspect of the tournament and the "cute Hogwarts champion". They are becoming more and more vain with every minute, she thought icily to herself as she opened her book and moved several seats away from her popular twins who already seemed to get some attention even though this was the first task of the TriWizard Tournament. She looked up from her book to see a young girl reading Les Misérables to which she smiled and commented, unsure if the girl would even hear her, "That is a wonderful story. The musical is done spectacularly."

Clemence offered the little girl a gentle smile before returning to Germinal, the book she was reading, her eyes reading every word proficiently yet quickly. Reading in silence was something she had gotten good at considering she was constantly alone, not that she honestly minded being alone, it was her solace and had been for quite some time. Perhaps it was because she was in a family with four other sisters, and now three other step siblings.

Mia could hear the growing sound of people arriving to see the first task unfold. She wondered how much longer it would be before it started, she was anxious as to see what the champions would have to do. Looking around Mia realised that she didn't know many people, she let out a small sign, she really did need to meet more people and with the school this year she might have a chance to meet more people.

Hearing a voice not too far from her she lifted her head and saw someone talking to her. Hearing her comment she beamed and replied,
"Thank you! I agree, it's a beautiful musical." Her voice light and happy that she wasn't being ridiculed for her choice in recreational reading. "I have to say your book is a brilliant read as well." She returned the compliment.

Gabrielle was opted not to go to the silly The TriWizard Tournament Event that was supposed to be going on that day, but after some major convincing she decided perhaps she should go and support her school as the champion competed. Secretly Gabrielle was also interested to see how Hogwarts would be doing in the events too, all her siblings but her had gone over there or started over there so it would be interesting to see how the boy from their school could hold up. Sitting down in an area that had some people in it but not enough to make her nervous she smoothed out her designer skirt before she shifted her icy blue eyes down onto the task. "I wonder what the whole task is going to be." She sighed and made sure the ponytail that was still holding her hair was tight and proper looking, now she was eager to see the events unfold and see who really had what it takes to be the TriWizard champion.

As the stands continued to fill, Sebastian spotted Clemence sitting down. He was surprised to see the girl at the event at all. She hadn't seemed to like the idea of the tournament, or at least that was the feeling he had gotten when they had spoken about it briefly in the cafeteria the other day.

Standing up, he walked over to her and was appalled to see that she and another girl were reading as they waited for the event. "Clemence...How can you stand to read right now?" he said in French as he dropped onto the bench beside her. He was too hyper to sit still let alone read as he waited for the first task to begin. He could only imagine how the champions were feeling at the moment.

Christelle joined the other students watching the TriWizard Tournament. Of course she had been upset at not being picked as a champion but that was no reason to go sour grapes on her school. She was head girl, after all.
She walked with her sister to the stands where she joined many other students. She had no idea how long they would be waiting before something happened.. Or what she was expecting to happen.

Slowly, the crowd surrounding her began to build up and soon, pretty much every seat was filled; well, it wasn't like the TriWizard tournament happened every day.
Christelle nodded to a fellow Beauxbatons student but she wasn't noticing them. No, a few days ago she had met a boy from Durmstrang- a hopeful champion. He was truly amazing with a dreamy accent and..
Christelle sat up suddenly, eyes wide. She wasn't supposed to thinking about Sergei. Her mind was supposed to be on the tournament, the possible danger and the task at hand- What would they have to do?
It was truly thrilling to sit there among such an atmosphere. She smiled at her sister. "This is brilliant."

Grande knew the First task was starting soon. He didn't quite want to go, but he knew it would good of him to go support his school. He had orginial planned to work, since classes wouldn't be on, but they hadn't needed him, so he decided he would go. He walked at a leisurely pace, watching people run or walk quickly past him. It was surprising that so many of them wanted to be there quickly. It was cool, but it didn't really matter did it? It was only a competition. He hoped that Beauxbatons would do well, but he was going because he had nothing else to do. This was all that could be done. Grande walked up to the stands, and looked around for Clemence, or Sydney, a new friend, Grande had surprised himself in making. He couldn't see Sydney, but he spotted Clemence. Grande walked straight to her. And sat down on the opposite side of her.

"I didn't think you'd come to this Clemence." Grande said in his unfaltering french. He noticed the boy sitting on the other side of her. And out of politeness held out a hand to him. "Grande, nice to meet you. I should've brought a book." Grande said annoyed that he'd not thought to bring one.

"I'm enjoying it," Clemence agreed with the younger girl, smiling politely at her before looking up as she heard Sebastian say her name. She blushed softly and said, "I like reading. Besides, my sisters dragged me here. Might as well get some reading in." She shrugged her shoulders lightly before looking over to him with a gentle smile.

The smiled was neartly wiped off when she heard her best friends voice which was odd considering that he was in fact her best friend. Genevieve and Maria dragged me," she said with a roll of her eyes before casting a small glare in their direction of the "popular crowd". She smiled at her friend's politeness and said, "Sebastian, this is my friend Grande."

Sebastian smiled as he listened to Clemence's explanation. She seemed like the type to enjoy reading, so her answer didn't really surprise him all that much. What did surprise him was when another guy dropped into the seat on the other side of her. The smile fell off his face as the guy introduced himself and held out his hand. Not wanting to be rude, Sebastian reached out his own and gripped Grande's hand, though he was considerably more at ease when he heard Clemence introduce Grande as simply being a friend.

"Nice to meet you" he said slowly in French. Thinking over the words to make sure he had them correct before he said them out loud, he asked both of them, "Excited to find out what it is?" He didn't know how to say task in French, but he hoped they would know he was referring to the challenge.

Riley had dragged Olive out to see the first task, hoping that the young girl would learn something. She didn't realize that Olive hated her and couldn't wait until her older sister was gone, but continued trying to get her to settle in as Riley had. She ambled lesiurely to a seat, hoping for Olive to follow her. "Excited?" Riley asked her simply in english, knowing that Olive would need to learn french properly soon.

Olive had been dragged from breakfast to the Triwizard tasky thing by Riley, and was officially sick of her. "Riley, I told you. I don't want to be here." Olive could be doing anything right now. Training, singing, kicking trees... anything other than staring at people as they face death. She sat next to Riley, with half a mind to walk off and sit somewhere else. Hearing the people jabbering in french around her, Olive's wish to go to Hogwarts instead of Beauxbatons was reignited. She preferred Spanish anyway.

Grande noticed both of falling smiles. And couldn't help to smile more. Grande almost wanted to make some excuse and leave the two to it. But Grande didn't have anything better to do, and he wanted to get to know this Sebastian guy. He seemed nice enough. A little excited over something so simple as a tournament. Of course, it was a little exciting, but Grande would've much rather if it had been in a different school. Like Durmstrang. Grande shrugged.

"Sebastian. It is nice." Grande said smiling at him and then to Clemence, almost knowingly though Grande couldn't be sure of anything. "Excited? Not really. Would've much rathered if they'd taken the tournament to Durmstrang or if it at was Hogwarts New Zealand again. But I'm here to support the School, because there is really not much else to do." Grande said in rapid french. Then he realised the boy hadn't spoken fast. And while the french was good, it was clear that it wasn't his first language.

"Unlike Clemence, I can speak english. If you struggle with anything I can translate. But you're french is quite good." Grande said to the boy in english.
