Prodan walked about the classroom and placed tabloids and movie on each desk and on the table to the side of the desks. Students began to file in and he motioned with his hand to sit down so the lesson could begin. Prodan greeted, "Greetings class, settle down so we can hurry and begin." Prodan waited a moment before continuing with the lesson, "Movies have actors and actresses in them that play the roles. I want to discuss a few of the more popular ones as well as talk about the ways muggles treat their celebrities. Please put aside the magazines for just a bit. You will be working in them for your assignment today."

"There are many that have become famous over the years. People go out of their way to try to meet these people. For some reason, muggles find it necessary to know everything they can about their favorite star. Some go so far as to stalk them, tracking their movements and trying to get close to them. Movie stars, musicians, and television personalities end up hiring body guards to protect them from the crazed fans that try to get close to them. People called paparazzi are hired to take pictures of them, and make good money doing it. They get paid more for the most embarrassing pictures they can get." Prodan picked up a tabloid from table and he smiled as he continued, "All these pictures were taken by a professional, or hired rather, photographer. You can decide for yourself if the subject knew they were being photographed for yourself. These people are under a lot of pressure to perform publicly and on screen."

"I want you to find one the celebrities in these magazines." Prodan paused for a moment, and he grinned, "I want you to write a short essay over one celebrity. I have enough materials for you to choose from. Include a short filmography of their work in your homework." Prodan went to the desk and sat down. "Have fun!" After a while, he glanced up at the time, and he said, "You guys are dismissed."

Homework: RP the lesson and the essay is extra credit! Have fun!

Andy smiled at her headmistresses husband when she entered the classroom, he really was sweet and though at first she had always hoped that Professor King and Professor Zhefarovich would get back together again, she now knew she was glad they hadn't. For one they got a remarkable teacher who surely would not be leaving the school any time soon thanks to being married to the headmistress and another they were such a cute couple. Every one around the school thought so and though she was deeply wrapped up in her own relationship she was not blind to those madly in love about her.

Taking her seat she glanced at some of the magazines wondering what they would be covering today. She did not have to wait long and became amazed by the muggle world that she had thought she had known so well. True she had really only spent her childhood growing up in that world but surely she would have taken some notice of the television or magazines. Obviously not! The homework was assigned and Andromeda frowned not sure who she should write about, there seemed to be simply way too many 'celebrities' and many simply famous for telling stories on famous people.

She browsed diligently through the magazines, realizing that some were really old and more fragile and were obviously part of the schools muggle studies program for many years now. She found one dating back to 1962 and fell in love instantly with the different style of the cover. When she flipped through it the most beautiful woman popped out of the pages to her, not magically of course but she seemed to quite literally emerge from the pages. As Andy read through she could understand why and decided she had found the character she was going to do her piece on.

Taking the magazine with her for research purposes, Andy left and headed to the Gryffindor dorm to begin the assignment.

Marilyn Monroe

She was born in 1926 as Norma Jean Mortensen but was baptized under the name Baker. She married straight after graduation at the age of 16. During wartime she worked in a munitions factory but was spotted by photographer David Conover who encouraged her to work for a modelling agency. She dyed her hair lighter and signed up. She had a successful modelling career that led eventually to her first screen test for 20th Century Fox. Her name was changed to Marilyn Monroe and the rest as they say in history.

She became one of the most famous Hollywood Movie stars not just of her generation or era but ever. Her life behind the camera was also a focal point for the paparazzi, it seemed that every one wanted a piece of her. Wanting to know all about her life on and off the camera. With time her life began to unravel and in 1962 at the age of 36 years she was found dead in her home. As well as marrying famous icons such as Arthur Miller and Joe DiMaggio she was also rumored to have had affairs with John and Robert Kennedy.

Mike entered the classroom, having thoroughly enjoyed the last lesson. The Professor was quite lax and Mike had learnt a lot last lesson, remembering events from the past. Mike took his usual seat, picking up a book like item that resided on his desk. He flicked through it, staring at the pictures on it. Mike put it back on the desk when he was told to. Professor Zhefarovich started the lesson, and Mike focused on him. He listened patiently and quietly. Mike found today's topic interesting. It seemed that muggles were quite weird in the sense that they stalked celebrities. Mike remembered reading something in the Prophet about a witch obsesses with a singer from the olden days, and harassed him for weeks on end.

Mike browsed through the magazine, which was a film/cinema one. It had a picture of a man dressed as a clown with a caption, Mike did not understand. Mike was not a fan of clowns. They weren't funny and bloody scary. Mike looked through the magazine, Mike learnt it was called. He looked through the pages, skimming the words. It seemed new movies were coming out, some sounded barbaric. He listened as the Professor told them about their homework and Mike looked for a potential candidate. He found one it seemed. The magazine told Mike, that he was a celebrated actor.
