Prodan stood beside the chalkboard writing on the board. The students filed in, and Prodan smiled to himself. No field trip today. Instead, today was more or less something they were used to in their previous years. Just a normal day with notes and a lecture. Prodan said, "There is a ton of information on this topic, but time is short, and I can only cover so much in that time. So, bear with me, won't you." Prodan dropped the chalk in its holder, and the board read:
Prodan motioned for them to pay attention and write the information down. "Muggle transportation can cause numerous issues. Can anyone think of a few we saw on our last field trip?" Prodan heard a few and he said, "Mhm, indeed those are some issues." Prodan picked up the chalk once more, and he motioned with his hands for students to keep their eyes on the chalk as he wrote on the board. Even though this could be a silly gesture, it still got the point across. After he finished writing, the board now read:
Deciding to address one issue at a time, Prodan sighed once before he continued, "Accidents are a major problem with muggle transport, just like wizarding transport. Vehicles are often dangerous if reckless people are behind the wheel, and people can lose their lives. It is similar to a broom. A car, truck, bus, whatever has to be kept in control at all times, or it can be damaged, cause damage to others or even be a weapon." Prodan frowned slightly at this information. However, they needed to know it. And he was the professor. “Fuel is costly to run the vehicles. To be able to drive, you have to have fuel in your vehicle, and enough fuel to get you where you need to be. However, the cost of such fuel can prevent some from getting to where they need to go. If they cannot afford it or the supply is scarce, muggles will be stuck in their homes. They may walk, but sometimes that is just not going to happen." Prodan continued, without taking one glance at the board, "Fuel being burned to make a car go gives off exhaust, which brings up to our next topic. Pollution. Similar to wood burning in a fireplace, there is a smake that is a byproduct of the fire. These byproducts are destroying the Earth's protective layers, and the muggles are attempting to find a better solution to the fuels. However, from the looks of it, there isn't going to be a cheap cost to alternate fuels for now." Prodan began to pace the room, his hands folded behind him as he continued with his lecture, praying the students were taking notes, "To conclude this all, there are many traffic delays or backups. I am sure you all witnessed this in San Francisco. These issues can get harsh enough that people often get angry with one and another. Road rage is the name of this. Believe it or not, muggle have been known to kill over being stuck in traffic. Remember when we were on the bus, some people were getting angry because the bus was not moving fast enough? I find it silly to get so agitated over that.” Prodan turned to face the class, and he smirked slightly. He was a little out of breath, but nothing a water could not fix. “Finally, homework. Compare muggle transportations with wizarding ones. Work for the rest of class on it. I don’t expect it to be too long, but don’t make it one paragraph either.” Prodan went back to his desk, sat down in the chair, opened a bottle of water and took a healthy drink, before gazing over his class as they worked. Homework: RP the lesson and write an essay comparing the forms of transportation: muggle vs. wizard |

Much like her first week back at Hogwarts New Zealand Patricia was once again physically, mentally and emotionally tired. Except this time it was far worse than discovering that the real father was her Herbology Professor, no this time it was because she had lost her brother. It had only happened a few days ago and Patricia still didn’t want to believe it, Joseph couldn’t be dead. He just became a father! she told herself over and over again, but no matter how many times she told herself she knew it was true. A quick trip to her father’s office confirmed that as soon as she had seen the family tree. Unable to cry anymore she barely pulled herself together and made her way to class. Entering the Muggle Studies classroom she had barely remembered that she had a new Professor, she still hadn’t figured out where she knew the name from, but she had other things on her mind to worry about it. Taking her seat she waited for the class to start. Not too long after the class had began, taking out her writing equipment she began to listen to Professor Zhefarovich talk. Looking up at the board her eyes widened in shock and horror. Someone was bound to be playing a cruel, sick joke on her. In response to the Professor’s question she let out two words, “Car crashes.” The two words were harder for her to say than she imagined. Shaking at her seat the watched to Professor continued to write on the board, the first word causing tears to fill her eyes. With tears starting to roll down her cheeks the Professor’s words started to hit her like someone was kicking her gut. She couldn’t stand it anymore, she had to get out. Quickly packing away her equipment she ran out of the room, tears streaming down her face. There was no time for explanation, not that she wanted to give one anyway. As she ran out of the room she went to the tiny alcove up the corridor. Sitting on the window sill she brought her lap up to her chest, resting her arms on her knees she buried her head in her arms and began to sob. Seeing a few first years walking by, gawping at her she shouted at them to leave her alone. Later that night after she had settled down she sought out one of her classmates from Muggle Studies. After they agreed not to ask any questions Patricia obtained any notes she missed and her homework for the class – she needed distractions.
