Abbey Lurken Slytherin, Third Years Lesson Two The first week of classes had been a success by Abigail's books. Nothing out of the ordinary occurred and she even thought that she would enjoy all of the lessons she was taking place in, which were all of the third year courses offered this semester. Out of all of the courses she seemed to be enjoying Muggle Studies then the others so when she woke up that morning and saw that this was the class she had, the Pureblooded girl smiled eagerly and skipped around her room, grabbing a towel and a change of clothes. When the Slytherin was showered, changed and all ready for her class she straightened her Slytherin uniform and left her dorm room and common room with her books in hand. Abigail's shoes seemed to be the only noise along the Dungeon floor, making her feel like the only Slytherin to take such a course and she was embarrassed. What if my peers think I'm a blood traitor? she asked herself as her heart beat began beating frantically, for some reason nervous over this thought. It was foolish of the third year to feel this way, and she knew it, Abbey had been raised as a muggle and only started understanding the Wizarding World when she was eight because she showed signs of being a witch to Mrs. Cajou, who was a witch herself and knew her parents when they were alive and well. They had a common interest. When Abbey entered the classroom she decided that she was being stupid, that it didn't matter what those ignorant twats thought about her taking Muggle Studies, she would be benefited by taking every course while they wouldn't be, because they possibly didn't know what she did or would. Seeing the Hufflepuff Head of House, Abigail smiled politely and nodded in her direction, before scanning her amethyst coloured eyes around the room, looking for a seat around the class and finding one beside a Gryffindor girl she had never spoken to. When the lesson began, Abigail pulled out a piece of parchment paper and a black pen and began writing down quick notes, even though she knew most of the information given to her. Muggle students don't usually attend boarding schools They have a locker at their school for personal items Students use folders or binders to hold their papers A stapler binds papers together Paper clips temporarily bind paper together -- Elementary school is for youngest students (grades Kindergarten to five or six) Kindergarteners are usually five years of age Should I have been a squib I would be in eight grade in Middle School or Junior High. Middle School is grades six, seven and eight (year one to three) Middle School can be seven and eight or seven, eight and nine, it depends on the district High School or Senior High is the end of grade school Students ages can range from fourteen to eighteen years Muggle children are not considered adults until they are eighteen and usually do not graduate until then Courses that students may choose from: Mathematics, Language Arts, Science and History Electives: Computers (MAKE NOTE TO ASK PW WHAT THAT IS), Home Economics, Industrial Technologies, Foriegn Languages and Physical Education Next thing Abbey knew homework was being assigned, so she sighed to herself, fighting a small groan or grumble she pulled out a piece of paper and began doing the work as best as she could. Chemistry and Potions And How They Are Related Chemistry is a form of science that muggle, High School students may choose to take. This course has the students creating mixtures, using chemicals. Potions is related to this because, although we do not use any chemicals listed on the Periodic Table of Elements we use the natural substance in which they come from. We create potioins and mixtures from small creatures and plants. I would like a binder please. When Abbey was finished with her work she packed up her things and handed the work into Professor Wiess' desk, heading down to her dorm room to change out of her uniform and then to the Great Hall for a well needed breakfast. |

Abbey Lurken Slytherin, Third Year Lesson Three Unfortunately for Abigail, she woke up later than usual this morning and didn't have time for a shower so she just pulled her hair in a pony tail, the loose strands feeling like feathers under her bony fingers. She pulled on a colourful dress and gladiator flats before picking up her binder and rushing to the Muggle Studies classroom, while summoning herself a muffin to eat during class, despite the rules. When she arrived, her muffin was half eaten and luckily she was not late. Abbey let out a sigh of relief as she walked in, smiling at the blonde Professor who seemed to have a glow about her. Of course, she pushed that thought away and took her seat, slowly picking away at her breakfast until the Hufflepuff Head of House said that they would be taking a portkey out of the school. Abbey's stomach lurched and she made a face of displeasure. "Stupid portkeys," she grumbled under her breath. Portkeys, more often than not, made her nauseous and dizzy. But of course she had to go because this was class so she, angrily, walked towards the water bottle, hesitantly touching the bottle. Almost a second later the class arrived in North America, and Abbey's stomach was in knots and her knees were buckled. She put her hand over her stomach, looking as green as Professor Weiss seemed to when she left her living room. With all the students it seemed awfully cramped and the Slytherin sighed, she disliked be shoved into rooms with people she didn't know. But as she pointed out before, this was a class and she had to be here. So the girl walked toward the kitchen curiously. Yes, she had seen a kitchen but there had never been so many appliances. It almost shocked her. Back at her orphanage there had been the bare necessities: a stove and a fridge. Abigail looked at a small appliance that looked like a miniature oven, her mouth falling ajar as she opened it and it made a small beep. "Woah!" she murmured quietly. She touched one of the buttons, jumping with a mixture of fright and shock when it lit up and made a different tone then the first. Oh my god! she thought, her amethyst eyes wide and curious. "What is this contraption?" she asked herself, aloud, only to hear some snickering girl answer, "It's a microwave, you dolt." Abbey snapped her head around, giving the girl a glare. Probably a mudblood, she thought icily. She closed the microwave's door and looked around the apartment, watching the class go about their business until Professor Weiss returned and told them that they had to return. So with a sigh, she walked towards the portkey and touched it, immediately leaving the classroom once more for a lay down in attempts to rid herself of her nausea. |
