Professor Glasson entered the classroom and found that none of her students had turned up yet. Grumbling to herself, she looked up at the big clock on the wall and realized that she was twenty minutes early for the lesson. Slightly embarrassed, Isolde sat behind her great desk and opened up a very large, dusty volume of Magical History. Exactly twenty minutes later the door burst open and the first few students walked in, talking excitedly amongst themselves. Isolde nodded and smiled at all the students who entered. "Please take a seat anywhere," she said as she motioned to the room and all the desks. Once the room was filled and she was sure that all the students were there, she walked around to the front of her desk and stood there, casually surveying all of the young people who sat before her. "Good morning!" she greeted, brightly. "My name is Professor Isolde Glasson, but to all of you I am Professor Glasson. I will not respond to nor allow anyone to call me by my given name Isolde. If you choose to break this rule, it will be on pain of torture or detention, whichever I prefer." She grinned at the class. Isolde loved to stir up the students. It made the lessons slightly more interesting. "I will set a few guidelines now and I want all of you to memorize and apply every one of these rules. I am most dreadfully sorry if this is boring, but I am afraid it is a requirement that I go through these with you. As I am all fairly certain you are able to read, I shall put these rules on the board for you, and whether or not you decide to copy them down is your choice. If you feel you need reminding as to how to behave, then I would strongly suggest copying them down." Isolde waved her wand at the empty board at the front of the room and suddenly words appeared.
Isolde waited until she presumed that the students had finished reading, and then turned to the students again, wiith a smile on her face. She noticed several of them were frowning. "Don't worry, students, I am very easy to get along with, and I'm sure that not all of you find History of Magic to be an exciting subject. But it is my mission to make you all interested in learning more and expanding your minds while hopefully making it fun." Isolde glanced up at the clock. "Oh my goodness! I didn't realize what time it was!" she exclaimed, a little embarassed. "Quickly everyone, look around at where you are sitting and who you are sitting next to. This will be your designated seating for the remainder of the year. What's your name?" She asked, pointing at a student sitting in the front row. When they introduced themselves, Isolde gave them an encouraging smile. "Okay, could you please pass these around?" she asked, haning the student a stack of papers. Once she was sure that everyone had a copy she went on to explain what she wanted. "The papers you all have now is this weeks homework assignment. Please fill these out and hand them in before next week, this day. Thank you and everyone please have a wonderful week!" She smiled at all of the students, then, noticing that no one had gotten up yet she added, "Class dismissed." ******HOMEWORK******* I would like all of you to fill this out. At the beginning of each homework assignment I would like everyone to head their paper with their name first, then on the second line put their house name and what grade they are in, then I would like you to put what lesson it is. Here's an example: Professor Glasson Staff House 1st Year History of Magic Here's the lesson I would like you to fill out. This is simply a survey for me to get to know you better. There are no wrong answers! 1. Your full name 2. Your age 3. Are you Muggle, Pure blood, or what? 4. What are your interests? 5. Tell me a little bit about your family. 6. What would you like to learn in the upcoming lessons in History of Magic? 7. Any additional facts you would like to put down, put here. Remember, this is not mandatory. But, if you do the homework, it will help your house out and it will be more beneficial for you in the long run! Also, first student, please be the person to hand out papers in the class. There's extra credit in it for you!

Lisa trotted into her first History of Magic lesson, feeling a little excited. It was the first lesson of the year, after all; she was finally getting her magical education, after a long, long wait. She sat down near the front, and pulled out her books; she didn't want to miss a beat. Professor Glasson then introduced herself after everyone arrived. She explained that she would not tolerate any student calling her by her given name, Isolde. Lisa tittered nervously as the professor reeled off the punishments that she might inflict on them, and then wrote the class rules on the board. Lisa didn't take them down; she did know how to behave, after all. Once everyone had read the rules, Lisa jumped as Professor Glasson asked for her name and then shoved a pile of sheets into her arms. The Ravenclaw hurridley gave the sheets out and took a glance at it. A survey. Simple. Once the bell rang, Lisa left the classroom, intending to do the survey as soon as she could.
11. Lovely to meet you Lisa, and thanks for participating in my class!

Minx managed to get a seat at the front. She dutifully copied down the rules and stayed behind after lesson to do the homework. It seemed like a good idea, and there was no point in putting it off.
She then handed in the survey and left. 8. Lovely to meet you Minx, I hope you can become more confident as time goes on. Just put a little more detail in to your roleplays to get higher marks.

Madison could not be more excited than she was when she had woken up that morning. History of Magic might not of been her favorite subject, really she didn't know if it was or wasn't, but it was just the fact that she had her first class at Hogwarts New Zealand. Jumping out of bed, literally, Madison began to get ready. She put on the Hufflepuff uniform that she wore proudly and began to curl her naturally straight hair. Never did Madison go out of the common room or just about anywhere without her hair curly. She just so happened to be the only triplet that curled her hair. That way she should out more than normal which was ok with her. Skipping out of the Hufflepuff common room, Madison sang softly to herself as she made her way all the way to the History of Magic classroom. Once entering the room it occured to her that today's class was in Ravenclaw. Laughing aloud, not at the fact that it was with Ravenclaw but because that meant that next semester Bailey and Skye would have class together. how interesting that would be. "I should sell tickets to that" Madison said to herself as she plopped herself in the front row taking out some parchment, ink and quill. Her eyes gazed around the room taking in every surrounding before they formed on the Professor. This is going to be fun She thought her hand tapping on the table and her feet moving, unable to sit still. This was just how Madison Addison was. As the lesson began the rules were applied. "Simple enough" She thought not finding a need to write them down. I'll remember them she thought confidently as the lesson progressed. Surprisingly the lesson flew by. At the last glance at the clock, Madison realized what time it was. So did the Professor as the fratics began to pass out the homework. Sadly Madison was not picked to give out the homework but she had hopes for the next classroom. Grabbing the sheet she darted out of the room skipping her way happily back to the Hufflepuff common room. Taking a seat on the couch she procrastinated for about the whole night talking, reading, and just looking at the fire. But finally Madison started her homework finishing it rather soon.
10. Pleasure to meet you, Madison! I'll try to keep the lessons interesting for you.

Vadiken Took a seat next to Madison. He had met her in the commons a while back and was glad to see her. He looked at the Homework and decided to fill it out there and tehn
After Vadiken finshed his homework he handed it to the Proffesor. Then he sat down at his desk and turned toward Madison and said, "Hi!" 7. Nice to meet you, Vadiken. Don't do much about spells in History of Magic, but there will be plenty of books in the library to help you out there!

Dannii walked into the history of magic class room, she didn't think she would enjoy this class very much, but she wouldn't be like some of those kids who skiped classes. She listened to verything the teacher had to say and took down the class room rules. Once that was done she filled out the little survey they had been filling out in all the classes.
7. Nice to meet you, Dannii! I hope you're not as strange as your sister. :r:

Merlina walked along to her first class delighted that things were beginning to progress now, she had been adamant that she would begin the school year as she meant to go on but having made no friends yet or seen any of the people she had met during the summer, she finally decided that just keeping her head down and getting on with her studies was probably for the best. On entering the class she saw the professor was already there, a good few Hufflepuffs and two other Ravenclaws. She had never spoken to them and didn't know how they would feel now about her simply plonking herself down beside them, so with a sigh she took a seat near the back and took out her book, parchment and writing implements. The professor seemed really nice as she began to explain the rules for the class, Merlina being a stickler for every detail decided to take them down.
Merlina listened carefully to the rest of the class and smiled at the girl who gave them the sheet of paper, at least she was making an effort to be friendly. Scanning the paper Merlina wrote her name at the top and as class was then dismissed, she noted some others sitting down and doing up the assignment. Deciding to do the same, she remained at her desk and filled it in. She didn't understand why the professor would need to know if they were pureblood or not and thought it highly suspect that she did. Dipping her quill once again into the ink, Merlina did her assignment.
Merlina rolled up her parchment and placed it in your bag when she was done before leaving quietly. 11. Wow, good job! Very pleased to meet you, Merlina. Keep up the excellent work!

Leia woke up bright an early for her first day of lessons. She had been waiting for this day for a long while now, and even though it wasn't a class she was particularly looking forward to, simply because it required no wands, it didn't mean she wasn't excited for it. She dressed in her Hufflepuff uniform, admiring the way it looked perfectly on her, as if she was destined for Hufflepuff all along and braided a white daisy into her long wavy, locks of hair. Today her hair looked a lot more golden and radiant, and she noticed that it seemed to always look lighter whenever she was happy or in a good mood. As soon as she arrived into the classroom, Leia looked around for at least one familiar face and smiled in relief when she saw her roommate Dannii already seated. She walked over to her and took a seat as she said, "Hey!" and smiled at her. Although she would've loved sitting with her best friends Oscar, Emma, or Noah, they were all Ravenclaws and she just couldn't decide who she'd sit next to, so Dannii was like her life saver right now. Not long after the rest of the students filed in, Leia waving happily to those aforementioned Ravenclaws, Leia paid attention to the lecture the teacher gave. She didn't feel the need to write down the rules because Leia didn't think she'd ever break them. Just as she was getting excited for the class, the time seemed to have gone at warp speed because quite suddenly, their homework was frantically being passed out and they were all dismissed. Leia took the paper, perplexed as to what they would be doing their homework on when they hadn't even learned anything that day, but saw that it was just a survey. Since Leia had skipped breakfast out of her sheer excitement, she was feeling quite hungry by that time so she headed straight to the Great Hall where she filled out her survey over a bowl of cereal, her favorite food in the world, and was careful not to spill or stain her parchment with any food.
Once Leia was done, she carefully rolled her parchment up and put it in her backpack so she could hand it in at the next lesson, and continued eating her bowl of cereal, now just soggy granola in a sea of milk. 10. Excellent work! Very pleased to meet you, Leia, and don't worry - my lips are sealed!

Avrille had stayed up late the night before as she was engrossed in a novel her Mama had given her to read from the section of the library at their home in Bulgaria she was not able to go to, on the History of Magic. She knew she shouldn't have asked her Mama of this but she had so desperately wanted to know about it before classes begun, and she was willing, so there really was no harm done was there? Well there was, she hadn't woken up at her normal time, which was 5: 34 AM, and had slept until 6 AM, so she was a little behind on her morning ritual. It wasn't like she did anything to make herself look amazing, it was only class afterall, she usually did one sudoku, then two crossword puzzles and then drew a little before actually begining. Today, Avrille only had time for one sudoku and the two complex crossword puzzles, to say she was a little disapointed would have been an understatement. She knew that Ai and Adrenne, her room mates, must have thought a little poorly of her because of that, but what did she care? They were at Hogwarts, a school she believed that didn't truly matter like Durmstrang did. She wished to be there. In fact the only positive of being at Hogwarts was that she didn't have to see her sister, Simone, on a regular basis. Dressed and ready to go, Avrille Grinaes walked out of her dorm room, common room, and the Towers and all the way down to the First Floor. She hadn't eaten breakfast because she didn't have the patience to be around the fools in the Great Hall, and would get something to eat after class, like she had begun accustumed to do now. Avrille took a seat in the middle of the classroom, so she could still see the board and the Professor and would also go a little bit hidden behind the tall girl in front of her. She wasn't certain if she would do well in this class as History had never been her forte, however, maybe her interest would come into play with this and she would just go along with it. When the Professor began to speak, she noted that she was a lot like Professor Merrythought, happy and bubbly. Two traits she dispised. She rolled her harlequin green eyes at the woman, and half listened to what she was saying, and only glanced up at the rules, she knew she would end up breaking by the end of this semester. Simply because she couldn't care less. When Professor Glasson said that they had a sheet to fill out she thought sarcastically, Oh how original. Avrille was getting tired with these sheets, they were tedious and even a little bit demeaning. They were eleven years old, of course they could handle a lesson on the first day of classes! It wasn't as if they were five. She took the paper that was handed to her and folded it neatly in the middle before placing it in her book bag along with anything she had taken out of it, and left the class, to go to the Great Hall, to eat and to get her sheet filled out. The raven-haired girl entered the Great Hall, immediately she walked over to the Ravenclaw table, sat down, and opened her books, and took out her writing tools, and began eating a bagel while doing her homework. When Avrille finished her work, and bagel she took a sip of pumpkin juice, packed her things up, and went back up to the first floor corridor and into the History of Magic class to hand in her work. Once she had, she left the class and decided she would go do some sketching that she had missed that morning. O=10 Edited by Professor Jonathan Spenser, Jul 17 2009, 11:55 PM.

Teddy walked into the lesson and took a seat near the front, he wasn't with any of his friends today, the first day was about learning. He sat quietly as the teacher spoke and wrote down what she wrote. He noted the teacher seemed a nice one, happy and care free in sorts. When he was given the homework he almost laughed at it, Teddy guessed that there would be alot of these homeworks this week, all about you. He looked at his watch and figured out he had enough time to fill it out before he left.
Teddy finished writing and walked over to the teacher to hand it in before leaving, still trying to think what to do now. O=10 Edited by Professor Jonathan Spenser, Jul 17 2009, 11:56 PM.

Trixie quietly entered the classroom and sat in the front. While listening to Professor Glasson she quickly wrote down notes from the board which explained the rules of her lessons. Wow, sure wasn't this strict back home, she thought. She received the homework for the week and sighed in relief. Simple enough, she thought. She decided to fill it out now to buy her some time for other things to do in the evening.

Joseph walked timidly into the classroom holding his book bad to his chest. He was so nervous. He had no Idea what to expect. He scanned the room quickly and found a spare seat, not quite at the back but pretty close to it. He barely looked up when the Professor introduced herself and he quickly jotted down the rules on a piece of parchment that he had pulled out of his bag. He looked up when someone came around and handed him a sheet of parchment with the homework on it. He decided to fill it out now.
He felt a bit awkward when it came to writing about his family,so he wrote down what he could without feeling to uncomfortable about it. He stood up and handed his paper into the teacher before heading off back to the common room. O=10 Edited by Professor Jonathan Spenser, Jul 17 2009, 11:58 PM.
