((I'm really sorry about the lateness. RL has been very busy for me, I hope you understand. ))Professor Glasson stood just inside the door of the classroom, waiting for the students to arrive. She had been in the room for some time, going over her marking. The students entered right on time and took their seats. "Hello class! I would like all of you to prepare for taking notes. I will lecture you about a not-so-famous magician, and then you will be assigned an essay on another." She waited until she was sure that everyone was prepared to begin taking notes. "Okay, today I am going to speak about Morgan La Fey, or also known as 'Morgana'. Morgana was a powerful enchantress of British history, especially gifted in the healing arts. Merlin was her tutor. She was the half-sister of King Arthur, though often they were rivals. Among some of her terrible deeds was stealing King Arthur's sword, Excalibur, and plotting his death. According to some documents she lived in the Straits of Messina, off Italy. An unusual current in that area often draws phosphorescent creatures from the depths to the surface of the water, creating the impression of strange lights of objects floating above the water. These are called Fata Morgana." Isolde stopped and looked around at the students, making sure they were taking notes. "Right, well, I will end the lecture now. For your homework, I'd like you to write an essay on Paracelsus. "A History of Magic" is an excellent source. You can find this book in the Library. Have a great week! Class dismissed!" ***HOMEWORK*** Write an essay on Paracelsus, a minimum of 100 words. You may RP the lecture or your thoughts on the lecture for extra credit. |

The weeks were flying by for this young Ravenclaw as the morning sun yet again woke her up shining brightly through the window of the Ravenclaw dorm room. Rubbing her eyes, Emme wondered what they would be learning today in History of Magic. Would they actually do work or would it be another nice and easy period? Emme hoped for the second one but really she doubted her chances. Leaving the dorm room, she had her long hair now in a nice messy bun. Her back pack was carefully placed over her left shoulder just light enough to not knock her over. Emme walked into the History of Magic classroom to see that she was the first one there. "Wow this is a first" Emme said aloud as she took a seat in the front row wondering where the nameless girl was and why she was not the first one to arrive as she had for the first two previous lessons. Putting that out of mind when the Professor began the lesson with the statement announcing that notes were going to have to be taken. Letting out a small sigh, Emme took out her quill, ink, and parchment ready to take notes for the first time in this class.
As the lesson came to an end, Emme placed her quill down only long enough for the Professor to assign the homework. With this she jotted it down before packing up her things. This Second year Ravenclaw left the classroom her back pack settled on her shoulder and her determination set towards her path going to the library. Once in the library, Emme sat down and began to read a few books on the knowledge that she might need for this short essay. Soon enough she knew what she needed and the writing that needed to be done began.
After finishing her short essay, Emme walked out of the library two more books in hand than when she first entered. |
