Professor Glasson entered the classroom, running slightly late. She saw that most of the students were there already; and as she sat at the desk, quickly looking over her notes, the rest entered. She smiled in her usual warm manner and stood up, moving in front of her desk to her usual spot before the class. "Welcome back! I read over all of your assignments and am happy to get to know all of you. I am sure we will get along admirably, and I thank you all for taking them time to fill them out. Now, I would like for all of you to take out your quills and some parchment. I am going to give you a very brief lecture and I would like you to take notes." Isolde walked between the desks as she continued. "If we go way back, to the beginning of when witches and wizards were first mentioned in history, you will always wind up in the Medieval times. Does anyone know who the most famous wizard of that time is?" She paused and looked around, her eyes setting on a young student with their hand up. "Go ahead," she said, nodding encouragingly. The student replied, "It's Merlin, right?" Isolde smiled and nodded. "You are absolutely right. Well done." Taking a note of the student who answered, Isolde continued to pace and continued her lecture. "Yes, Merlin was the wizard who worked for King Arthur and his father before him. Did you know, however, that Merlin also had a hand in raising the future King? King Arthur was originally put up for adoption when he was just a baby and Merlin found him a foster father and there young Arthur stayed. He also had a half-sister who was named Morgan La Fey. At a young age he unsheathed the sword in the classic sword and the stone tale. I wonder, though, as you all have heard this story I'm sure, if you know that this is a true story. Back in that time that was considered to be a test of strength and power. I won't tell you too much more, but I would like to let you all know that this is all very important and I would make sure to keep all the facts for the exam at the end of the semester." She smiled again at the students, and continued making sure to mind the time. "Right, well, I don't want to cut this lesson as close as I did the last lesson, so I am going to end there. For homework tonight, I would like for all of you write an essay on either King Arthur, Merlin, or the Medieval times. This will be due before next week. "A History of Magic" is an excellent source. You can find this book in the Library." ****HOMEWORK****** I would like an essay on King Arthur, Merlin, or the Medieval times. I would like no less than 150 words and please no more than 500 words on this. I would also like a link to your resources, please. There is also a book called "History of Merlin" available at the library. You also have the option to RP the lesson, taking notes, your thoughts on the lecture and so on for extra credit. Also, first poster, please answer my question. Have a great week! |

Another day, another class. Aeon thought as he lazily got out of bed, Though he got tangled in the blankets and fell in a heap on the floor, That was the second time he had done that! Rubbing his head, Aeon untangled himself and got to his feet, then moved over to his drawer and changed into his uniform. Looking into the mirror, He realized what a mess he looked, His hair was sticking up everywhere and he looked like he hadn't slept in months. Aeon knew he shouldn't of stayed up so late, He probably only had around three hours sleep. Slowly, He shuffled towards the door, but managed to miss it and hit the wall. "Ow...." He mumbled, His voice muffled by the wall. He tried again, And this time managed to go through the door and down to the common room where he checked his schedule to find he had History of Magic, great. Aeon made his way down to the Great Hall for breakfast which would hopefully wake him up more. He seated himself at the far end of the Gryffindor House table and began on his rather large stack of pancakes with syrup and began to eat. Afterwards he felt better and more alert, so decided to head down to class and maybe see a few of his friends so he could get more time to talk before the lesson. Aeon entered the HoM classroom, slightly more earlier than intended, seeming as no one was there. With a sigh, He say down in his seat and slowly got out his things while he waited for the rest of the class. After a while some students entered the room and it gradually filled till Professor Glasson entered and began their lesson with a very 'brief' lecture. When she spoke of the medieval times and asked if anyone knew who the greatest wizard of that time was, Aeon's hand shot straight up. "It's Merlin, right?" He said, Pretty sure that was the correct answer, He had read a book somewhere about it before. "You are absolutely right. Well done." Came Glasson's reply, and Aeon smiled to himself. After that, The professor began to go on about Arthur and Merlin and what not. Eventually, The lesson came to an end and they were given an essay to complete before next week. Aeon packed up his stuff and left the class, Then headed down to the library to read up on merlin like Isolde had suggested.
Afterwards, Aeon returned the book he was using and then headed down to the HoM classroom again and placed his homework on Glasson's desk, Then headed down to the kitchen for some food. |

Taylor lazily yawned as her head dropped forward and she almost fell into her bowl of cereal. She didnt know how she was going to stay awake during History of Magic. Deciding she was going to be late because it would take her a while to get to the class, she shouldered her bag and began her lazy journey. Reaching the class luckily on time, she took a seat next to Aeon like she usually did in her classes. The Professor arrived a little later and once everyone was seated, class began. She took out her quill and parchment like asked and settled in to take notes, trying her very best to stay alert and focused, which was difficult considering how tired she was.
Taylor read back on her notes, truth be told she didnt need to write them, the only thing she leant was that he had a half sister. Her parents had of course told her the story of the sword in the stone. She managed the stay awake for the lesson and packed her things away taking note of the homework they were assigned. Yawning she walked out of the class and up to bed, she really needed some sleep after the awful night she had been through before hand. The next day Taylor was in the library writing out her essay with a few books open around her. She was trying to write neatly, but by the end of her essay, it wasnt up to the standard it had when she had begun.
Finishing her essay, Taylor didnt bother to read it, instead she packed away the books and made her way to the history of magic class. On the way she decided it might be an idea to check her work so read through it quickly, just finishing it off when she reached the class, placing it on the teachers desk, she walked back out into the hall. Looking both ways she wasnt sure what she wanted to do now. So she began to walk slowly down the hall, not sure where she was going, but not truly caring. |

History of Magic so far had lived up to the rumours that were spread about it. In general Toni believed just about every one of them doubting if the class would cover something that would find her absolute interest. Though as she woke up this day she had to admit that it was only the second class which gave hope for this lesson and the lessons after that. Hope was what she needed at least, at least to get through this year. Gracefully pushing herself out of the bed, Toni walked over to the mirror taking out the french braid that she had put in the night before. Her long blonde hair carefully falling down in wonderful curls. Smiling almost brightly as her hair's appearance, Toni then began to get ready for that day. Slipping on the uniform and doing the rest of the days needed tasks, Toni finished up in an hours time. This first year Slytherin swung her bag over her should and continued on towards the History of Magic classroom. Taking a seat in the back, Toni noticed that the professor was not yet there. How unprofessional She thought of coarse sarcasticly. Taking out some parchment, ink, and her fluffy white quill, Toni drew a few doodles mostly hearts all around her parchment as she waited. Finally the Professor arrived and Toni glanced up at the clock. Took her long enough She thought facing front knowing quite well that the Professor was not as late as Toni made it seem. The lecture began and Toni bascially disregarded it. Instead she continued to doodle colouring the hearts that she had drawn. Even though Toni threw off the aura that she was listening, this slytherin was listening to the basics. Just enough of the basics to get by. Soon enough, with the announcement of homework, the lesson was over. Jotting down a few notes last minute about Merlin and the sword before she walked right out of the classroom. Two hours later, Toni found herself sitting in the library her parchment in front of her and a few books surrounding her.

Larissa entered History of Magic and sat down, she suddenly noticed the lack of teacher and was planning something nasty when Professor Glasson walked in. Larissa took out her Slytherin green quill and her jet black ink. She sighed at the word 'lecture'. No matter how brief, a lecture was still a lecture. Larissa's eyes were fixed on Professor Glasson, watching her every step. When she heard the question, Larissa scoffed quietly, "It's Merlin, only idiots don't know that." Larissa sat there, her blonde hair fanned around her shoulders, her eyes grey and bored, tapping the quill on the desk until.. "Exam?" Larissa sat up. When she thought about it, she needed to take notes, to do the homework- to pass the exam, or her mum would kill her. Larissa smiled at the mention of the library, she loved it there and would soon spend many more happy hours there. Larissa packed her things away and left the lesson.

Elizabeth quickly strode into the History of Magic classroom. She was on the brink of being late, and hoped that she wouldn't get in trouble. Setting her books on her desk, Elizabeth took a seat, ooked at the professor, and prepared to take notes.
Sighing at the word 'homework', Elizabeth reluctantly wrote down the assignment. History was incredibly boring to her. Why were they focusing on things in the past, when they should be learning about the present?Shouldn't this lecture have been longer, if the professor really wanted them to learn something? When the class was dismissed, Elizabeth gathered her things and headed towards the library to read up on Merlin and the time period he lived in for her homework assignment. She didn't want to admit it, but it was actually very...interesting to her; though if anyone had asked she would have claimed to hate History of Magic with a passion. The library was full of fellow students also reading about Merlin. Elizabeth pulled out a clean piece of parchment and started on her homework.
