Amy trundled her way up to the owlery. This was once place she hadn't yet visited and on opening the door took in the surroundings. There were owls everywhere of all different sizes and types. She had decided not to write her letter in the common room and so had taken her stuff up to the owlery with her. Settling herself down, she took out her quill, ink and a piece of parchment and began to write
It was a short letter, but Amy felt that it was okay to send. Her dad had told her before she had left that he didn't want her to spend ages writing long winded letters to him, but to go and learn, and enjoy herself. After reading it over a couple more times she hunted down an owl and tied the letter, telling the owl just where it needed to go. She then watched as it took flight, on its journey to deliver her letter. She then turned to make her way back to the common room. |

It was a day or so later that Amy found herself walking up to the owlery again. She had been feeling slightly lonely the past few days, even though she had had many friends surrounding her. So for this reason she made her way back up the owlery to send a letter to her uncle. She had always been close to him, especially since her mum had died, he had been an important figure in her life, alongside her dad. She got out her quill ink and parchment and bgena to write.
Amy read over her letter, taking in every single word over again. After deciding it would be okay, she tied her letter to a waiting owl and sent her letter off, hoping to get a reply soon. With that she turned and made her way out of the owlery. |

Amy found herself walking up to the owlery at the end of her day. She had received a letter from her uncle today at breakfast and wanted to write back to him almost straight away. She got out all the necessary stuff and began to write.
Amy re-read her letter. It wasn't a very long one but she thought that it summed up everything she wanted to say to her uncle. She tied the letter to a waiting owl and watched as it took off. With that she made her way back down the stairs to the common room. |

Amy skipped happily up the steps to the Owlery to write back to her uncle. She had received her letter earlier and read it in the common room and was eager to write back to him. She hadn't heard from her dad in a while and she was slightly worried about him. She had, clutched in her hand, the letter from her uncle and had quickly reached the top of the owlery. Getting out some parchment and her quill. Setting it down carefully on the window ledge she looked out at the grounds, and began to write.
She read over her letter and managed to get a school owl to take her letter for her. She watched it as it flew and once it was out of sight she made her way back to the common room. |

Amy had come up to the owlery with every intention of writing to her uncle. She had ignored his previous letter, slightly disappointed with its content, or lack of it in this case. She had brought all her writing stuff with her and she knew it would be a difficult letter to write. She sat herself down and hugged her jacket tighter to her. Amy really didn't know what to write but was saved the trouble of thinking when an owl soared in through the window, landing directly in front of her. It gave a soft hoot and seeing as it didn't move from its spot infront of her Amy assumed it was for her. Removing it, she saw it was from her father, and tore it open, proceeded to read.
Amy read the letter and couldn't help but smile. It was true that her dad hadn't said much in his letter but she understood. Amy wasn't disappointed about Christmas in the slightest, she knew a few of her friends would be staying and so she was looking forward to spending time with them. She stayed up in the Owlery for a while longer, it was late afternoon and she thought she would take herself out for a walk, before the party in the common room that night. |

Once again Amy found herself trapeizing up to the owlery, this time planning to send her letter to Charlie. She wasn't too sure if it was completely okay, and once she had reached the very top she hesitated in sending it. She stood there, staring at the letter, wondering if she should maybe re-write it. |

Callum sat at the Stone family house, not knowing how to word it at all. He sat, quill poised above parchment. He didn't want to worry Amy but at the same time he needed her to see that it was important for her to come home. He had already written a letter to Charlie's family, expressing the need for him to be over in England, and they had consented. He was due to arrive the day after Amy, giving Callum and Amy time. He sighed, and inhaled the burning smell of the logs on the fire. Finally, he began to write.
He closed his eyes, knowing that the letter was short and abrupt but he couldn't bring himself to write anything else. Quickly, he summoned his owl, and tied the letter. He watched as the owl spread its wings and flew into the distance. Sighing he hoped there would be no questionning, making Amy not suspicious about anything. |

Amy was woken from her thoughts when she heard the hoot of an owl, standing on the windowsill. She looked at it quizically, resuming her stare of her letter when it hooted again. It wa snow that she noticed a letter tied to its leg and slowly reached over to take it. A smile spread over her face as she read the letter from Callum, glad that he wanted her home. Her mind did not pick up on any negativity and she skipped happily down the stairs, unaware of the path fate would pick for her. |
