"Good morning everyone, today's lesson will be kept relatively short." Professor Summers said cheerfully as the students sat down. "To begin, I would like you all to please pull out your textbook and place it on your desk. For a spell. We aren't doing more theory, you can all relax." The man waited for everyone to pull out their books, nodding once it looked like every desk had one. "Okie doke. Today, we are going to turn these books into jewelry boxes. Or trinket boxes, whatever you like to think of it as."

He paused as several students oohed at the thought. Summers walked over to his desk and pulled out a book of his own to be used in the demonstration. "We will, of course, be using the three tap method as usual. The incantation is 'Gemelitiar.' Like this."

Professor Summers tapped his book three times and incanted the spell, "Gemelitiar" and the book immediately changed into a beautiful jewelry box made of mahogany wood, inscribed with sentences from the books pages in reference to its previous form. Garnets and opals accented the boxes lid.

"Easy. Try to visualise a box that suits you and what you like, draw on familiar things that are easy to visualise, or memories of jewelry boxes you've seen before. I would like all of you to begin, I will be walking around as always. After you are done, use the rest of your time to study."

Note: "Finite" is a counter-spell, not Untransfiguration, and shouldn't be used to reverse any transfigurations.Transfiguration,1,6

It was hard for Alice to wrap her mind around how quickly this semester had gone. In only a couple of weeks, she would be on her way home to celebrate Christmas with her family. She had no doubt it would be a little different than normal, with her mother so busy, but she still looked forward to it immensely. She was eager to get through these last few weeks so she could hug her parents again. Even with all her sisters and her older cousin here at Hogwarts, she missed them very much.

Transfiguration was the subject Alice found most difficult so far, but that didn't make it any less interesting or fun in her eyes. She was nevertheless happy to hear this lesson would be short, as it would give her more time to study and revise for the upcoming exams. The professor explained they would be using their textbooks for a spell, which interested the Hufflepuff greatly. She pulled out her textbook and placed it on her desk before looking over at what the professor was doing. Turning it into a jewelry box sounded like fun, and Alice smiled at the idea. As long as it would turn back in time for her to use it for studying, at least. She watched intently as the professor demonstrated the spell, trying her best to save it all to memory. She listened as he explained how to do it, visualizing the box. Then it was time to try for themselves. Alice tapped the book three times as demonstrated before saying the incantation. It took her a couple of tries, but then the book transformed into a simple but cute jewelry box. Alice wished she could keep it, but she knew having a book was important too. After she was done, she showed it to the professor. Then she spent the rest of the lesson going over her notes to study for the exam. Once the lesson was over, she thanked Professor Summers and left the classroom.
