The Professor walked down the classroom with a tub containing a variety of different erasers all in some odd shape, some looked like sweets others like a cat some even were in the shape of cars, Kida shook the tub so they all mixed together 'Everyone Grab an eraser, don't be fooled they are in fact Erasers' she said making sure everyone had one before making her way to the front of the class.

'I hope you all understood what I was saying last lesson, because today we are going to make these Erasers disappear, We will be moving onto larger objects throughout the year and the difficulty will increase, but let's begin with these erasers' Pulling her wand out of the sleeve of her robes where she kept it she picked up a small eraser in the shape of a crepe and placed it on the desk next to her she motioned for the class to watch closely 'Remember, three tap method and the incantation is Evanesco' as Kida demonstrated to the Student the Eraser on the desk vanished.

Moving the tub of Eraser to the front of the desk she tapped it with her hand 'Plenty of Erasers left if you wish to practice more, Call on me if you need my help. Once you believe you have got the hang of it, you may leave' Kida walked around and sat at her desk and watched the students practice making their erasers Vanish.

Tristan Collins was on top of the world. Not only was he now a prefect, but he had also earned himself the position of Vice President of the brotherhood. Somehow, Ares had decided he was worthy of that title. Tristan had still been angry at the older Hufflepuff for rejecting him last year, but as soon as the boy offered this to him, that was mostly forgotten. Tristan was happy he was finally making his mark on the school the way he had wanted to from the start. Now, if he could only manage to get most points one year too and get his name into the trophy room. But there was still plenty of time for that.

Tristan was always interested in Transfiguration as a subject. It was a powerful form of magic, and he wished they would learn more spells than they did. This year, they were focusing on vanishing charms. He had read up on them a little, so he felt prepared. As he took his seat, he spotted the large tub full of erasers immediately. He grabbed a plain looking one when the professor told them to, placing it in front of him. She gave them a demonstration and a reminder of how to perform the spell, which was helpful. When they got to try, Tristan carefully copied what Professor Frost had just demonstrated. It took him a few tries, but his eraser vanished. He smiled slightly and took another eraser to practice more. He didn't leave the classroom until he could do it in one try.

Transfiguration was the only subject October had this semester that she was actually finding interesting, so it was a relief to enter the classroom, taking a seat near the front. Vanishing could definitely be a useful skill to master, and she was excited to get more practice in. She took an eraser from Professor Frost as she passed them out, smiling a little at its cute lolly shape. It would be a shame to make it vanish, but October was determined to get this spell right. She listened carefully as the Professor described their task, and once they were set to it she picked up her wand, getting ready to practice. Tapping the eraser three times, she spoke clearly. "Evanesco!" To October's frustration, her eraser didn't vanish first time. She took a deep breath and tried again, making sure she was enunciating the spell clearly. "Evanesco!" To October's relief, the second time around her eraser vanished. Pleased with that attempt October got up and picked up another eraser, continuing to practice until she was sure she had mastered casting the spell on the first try. Satisfied with her work today once the last eraser had vanished on the first try, October packed her things up and headed out of the classroom.

Questioning Everything | Honeydukes Assistant | fifth year

[justify]The workload Jerara had in this semester was certainly a lot higher than he had expected. Clearly they were ramping up the work so that they would all be ready for what the exams at the end of the year. He had to adjust a few things on his day to day but he knew it would just take him another week to get full control over the schedule, that was what came when you had as many classes as he did. It was inevitable. But he just needed to take it in his stride and work hard at all of them, well apart from muggle studies because that was just as easy as it had been been in previous years. The teen was also still managing to balance the newer duties he had with the older things he did, which was getting lost in a sea of books on one specific tangent he had lost himself on. It was a rather easy thing for him to do though he was now trying his best to do that less. The teen was in fact reading a book then as he got ready for the day, it sat open on his desk and he read the occasionally line from it as he got himself together to face the day leaving with the book once he had everything.

After finding out that they would be doing one spell over the semester, Jerara had initially thought that he would be annoyed about it, but after some reading, it became clear that he would need the entire semester to be able to do more and to learn it properly. The teen sat down in the room and put his wand on the table. The professor wasted no time in telling them what they would be doing and what they would be using. A small eraser seemed like to easy an object to make disappear but he figured that it would still take a bit of time as they learned how to do it. The teen pointed his wand at it, he tapped three times and said, "Evanesco," the eraser seemed to almost want to vanish but then decide to not. He of course the did the spell again, managing on this second attempt to get it. He spent the time left in the lesson practicing the spell over and over again, figuring that was the best thing to do, if he wanted to do well and wanted to be good at it it would be good if he could cast the spell over and over again with ease. By the lessons end he felt fairly confident and left knowing he had started off well.

Although still quite nervous in her role of prefect, Corrine had been forced to work towards accepting it. She knew the Halloween party was coming up, but she wasn't sure if she was going to attend. Xena would probably go with Hayden, and the idea of third wheeling appealed to her even less than the idea of going alone. Where Professor Summers had been the type to give them lectures, Professor Frost seemed the opposite, simply telling them instructions and a brief explanation of why they'd been asked to grab erasers as they entered.

"Evanesco" she practiced a short while later, saying the words and nothing else. When she was comfortable with that, she tried her hand at vanishing the eraser. It took her about four tries before, with a final tap, the eraser simply vanished. Corrine smiled broadly, pleased with herself. Corrine didn't really want to practice again but everyone else seemed to be, so she tried again. And a third time for good measure. After that she was dome and she left quickly.

[justify]Signy enjoyed the new challenges that being a prefect afforded her. It was proving to be quite fun, and she was paired with Xavier which was all the better too. She so thoroughly enjoyed spending time with him and knew that she would sorely miss the boy when he graduated. They were even in a relationship and Signy knew she liked him as more than a friend, as someone whom she could spend hours with and absolutely never bore of. She didn’t know what he wanted to do after school, and she knew that they would have to sit and talk about things, but that was only if he really felt the same way about her back and that if upon him leaving he wouldn’t mind being tied to a girl who was still at school. Signy knew she needed to talk to him, but there were certain questions she wasn’t sure she wanted the answer to yet, and for now she could just enjoy his company. Signy was getting herself ready for the day, getting her books together, making sure her uniform was on straight, making sure the prefect badge was pinned to her robes. When she was all ready she left for class, eager to get to work.

After not being able to do the spell in the first class of the semester, Signy had been practically on the edge of her seat at the prospect of being able to do the spell when the week finally rolled back around to being time for Transfiguration, as it now was. She walked into the room and took her usual spot in the classroom, her gaze shifting to the front of the room where the professor was stood in front of them. It didn't take long to get started and the professor also didn't spend too long on the explanation. She took one of the erasers as she was instructed to and listened as the professor showed them how to do the spell. It certainly didn't seem too complicated. She was even quite excited about the prospect of it. She smiled when she was finally allowed to get started, she pointed her wand at the eraser and after tapping three times said, "Evanesco," the eraser didn't disappear, it seemed like it almost might, but then it didn't. It took her several more tries before she managed it properly and it took her a few more practices before she felt confident at it. But, by the end of the lesson she had got it, and that was all that was important and she now had a week to practice.

Austin was looking forward to trying out the vanishing spell as he made his way into the classroom for the second Transfiguration lesson. After a quick introduction in their previous lesson it was time to get down to business. He took his seat and listened to Professor Frost explain that they would be practicing the vanishing charm on erasers. It was good that they were starting off small and Austin hoped he would be able to learn the spell so he could move onto larger things. After listening to Professor Frost talk them through the process of what they had to do Austin took an eraser and carried it back to his desk. Pulling out his wand he began to visualise the eraser disappearing, "Evanesco," He said quietly. The eraser didn't disappear which Austin found disappointing but he was determined to continue. Austin tried a few more times and he wasn't long before the eraser had vanished from his desk. The Hufflepuff breathed a sigh of relief and sat back in his chair. When the lesson was over Austin put his wand away and made his way out of the classroom.
