Approaching her Class she could hear the buzz from behind the door, reaching for the handle she opened it to see her students 'Please be Seated everyone and Welcome to Fifth year Transfiguration.' Walking down the middle of the class Professor Frost stepped up onto the raised area where her Desk was and turned around leaning against her desk she began the Lesson.

'This term we are going to be learning all about Vanishing, specifically using evanesco When making something Vanish they are not moved into another room or made invisible they have Vanished.' Kida turned and drew her wand from her sleeve and pointed it behind her, a Chalk board wheeled itself forward and displayed was the spell Evanesco 'I want you all to Practice how to say this Spell, it will be Vital to Learning all about making various Objects Vanish, Say it with me, the word is Ev-an-ES-ko' Kida sounded out the word for her students 'Wands away, and together, Evanesco' she repeated listening to the student's speak together.

'Excellent, Now next lesson we will start with smaller objects and slowly make larger objects Vanish. Remember I want you to have it clear in your mind that I do infact mean Vanish, not moved, not hidden in your bag, not made invisible, not just really really small, Completely gone. It's vital to make object Vanish.' walking around her desk she sat down and looked up to her class again 'That is all or today, No homework, Next lesson we will try making an Eraser Vanish. Good Day Class.'

[justify]     Clara walked into the Transfiguration classroom and waited for the lesson to start. She enjoyed transfiguration and had thought, for a while, at becoming an animagus, but she had bigger things on her mind now. The ministry was her current destination and she was determined to do anything she could to get there. Her father would surely need all the help he would get and she was going to do what she could to help. When the class started, Clara settled into her chair and Professor Frost immediately started the class. She nodded at what the professor was saying and copied what she was asking them to say. She repeated as she was asked to do and made notes about Evanesco. It was one of the better spells she knew her father used in order to hide most of what he was doing when he had to. Still, she supposed it made sense in the end. The class soon ended and Clara picked up her things and headed out of the class. She had things she had to do and she'd forgotten to do them earlier.

Transfiguration was an interesting subject in theory there was just something about it the Hufflepuff found to be draining so he wasn't looking forward to heading back for the beginning of fifth year. As with most subjects they would be changing from Professor Summers to Professor Frost, Austin knew nothing about Professor Frost other than she had a daughter in the school but that was as far as his information went and he only knew that because Autumn was in the girls house. Austin made his way into the classroom and took his seat and waited for Professor Frost to begin the lesson.

Austin took notes as Professor Frost began to talk to them about the vanishing charm which seemed pretty cool though he doubted he'd be very good at it. At the instruction of the professor Austin repeated the incantation with the rest of the class. He wasn't a fan of loudly repeating incantation but it was a group effort so at least he didn't look stupid. Once the lesson was over and Professor Frost them they'd be making a start on vanishing small objects in their first lesson, Austin packed away his notes and made his way out of the classroom.

Corrine wasn't looking forward to Transfiguration. She hadn't liked it much during her first four years and didn't think things would improve as it grew more difficult. It was one of those closes you seemed to need to use the contents of often, however, so she knew she couldn't drop it though she wished to. The teenager had also noted how very many jobs seemed to ask about it. Taking a seat way in the back, Corrine looked around for the professor but didn't see her. She appeared right on time, but Corrine knew she hadn't seen her around before. She listened to the woman's introduction before opening her notebook. At least, Evanesco was extremely useful. Corrine knew her parents and siblings used it often and knew she would too since she was a tad clumsy.

Taking some notes, Corrine frowned as the woman asked them to put their wands away and repeat the incantation. She glanced around uneasily before joining the others, glad they weren't being singled out to say the spell. As the lesson ended, Corrine began to pack before heading out the door.

Tristan’s fifth year had started off with an achievement. He was proud of the prefect’s badge he now had, and happy that he had proven himself to his head of house. The events of the party were already far behind him. Surely, Corrine was no threat to him and October would still be interested in him if he charmed her enough. Things were going to be just fine. He just had to focus. He had a direction he wanted to go in. To be successful, he would have to work hard

Like with many other subjects, for Transfiguration they had a new Professor. It was a little strange, not seeing Professor Summers in front of the classroom, but he wasn't particularly attached to any of his professors. Tristan took his seat and listened as Professor Frost explained what they would be doing this year. Vanishing spells were interesting, they felt very powerful to the Hufflepuff. What was more powerful than actually vanishing something from existence? He had to admit to himself that he was excited. He put his wand away and repeated the incantation with the rest of the class. Though he was a little sad they weren't practicing the spell yet. The lesson was over after this, and Tristan packed his things before leaving the classroom. He looked forward to the following lesson.

It was strange, suddenly trying to get used to a host of new teachers just in time for OWLs. October didn't mind though, relishing the challenge in subjects she enjoyed. After dropping all the classes she had only been taking to impress her father, October was left with more time and energy to focus on the classes that really mattered to her. Transfiguration had only just made the list. She certainly wouldn't call it her favourite subject, but it was very useful, and she certainly didn't want to give it up so soon. Looking around the classroom, October hesitated before taking her usual seat at the front. She was giving up working too hard on things she didn't enjoy, certainly, but the point was to have more time to work hard on the things that she did, and she didn't want to stop working hard.

As the lesson began October listened to the new professor, a little surprised that the woman hadn't even introduced herself to them. She listened carefully though, taking notes as the woman introduced what they would be working on this year. When they were asked to repeat along she joined the rest of the class in reciting the incantation, doing her best to make sure her pronunciation was correct. Vanishing seemed like a useful skill, and October was excited to learn more about it. Once class was over she packed up her things and headed out, excited to get her violin and spend some time in the arts room, just for herself.

Questioning Everything | Honeydukes Assistant | fifth year

[justify]Jerara had a lot on his plate now as a fifth year, though admittedly a lot of it was his own fault. He had brought a lot of it upon himself. He was the one who had picked all of the classes, he was the one who had decided to do all the extra reading he could. The only thing he hadn’t brought upon himself in terms of work was the prefect position he held. That had of course been given to him. Not that he was unhappy about the extra work that position afforded him, he didn’t mind it at all, being a prefect was good, it was a good step in the direction of being a school leader, he didn’t want to be doing all this school work and have nothing to show for it. Not that he had worked hard for that, but it was just nice to get something for it. He was busy of course, even if just the first week, between the prefect duties, the reading and the social life, he had very little time left, and that didn’t account for homework. The boy was putting the last of the books into his bag, grabbing everything he could need for the entire day and the extra books he was reading. He made sure he had everything, though he definitely had far more than he had needed. With that he left for the class.

Despite doing a lot of reading and liking lectures, the ravenclaw prefect was looking forward to a new semester of transfiguration since he figured they would be doing some spells in it. The teen looked up at the professor after he took his seat in the room. he took out his writing utensils and placed his wand upon the table. He was hopeful that they might do a little something more than just learning about the what they'd be covering over the semester. It seemed that this professor just liked to launch straight into what they would be learning, which was one set of spells, the vanishing spells. It didn't seem like it could cover all the semesters lessons, but it must do if it was the only thing that they were doing during it. The teen wrote down a few bits of what she was saying and repeated the spell as the professor told them to, but that was it. They didn't get to do the spell. They didn't get to do anything but just learn the outline, which he wasn't too annoyed about, it was good to learn everything and start with the ins and outs of the spell, but he'd been hoping for more.

Rory wasn't feeling great about her chances in Transfiguration this year. Sure, she'd somehow scraped past ever since she was eleven years old, but this year was OWL year. In her mind, every subject suddenly seemed to have grown sharp teeth. And she was seeing a lot of new professors this year, too. As Rory was let into the classroom, she tried to scrutinise the woman who was now returning to her desk. Hopefully she wouldn't talk as much during lectures as Professor Summers did, but she better be nice or Rory felt like going right back to fourth year. Maybe she'd get every spell to succeed on her first attempt if she did. Rory had managed to make herself feel better, at least, and she tried to pay attention as the professor began the lecture.

Vanishing sounded... not too hard, really. Rory thought this of most spells when they were first explained to her, but compared to her previous experiences in Transfiguration there didn't seem to be a great deal of focus on the concentration aspect, which was what she was worst at. Rory almost felt cheerful, until she remembered once more that this was OWL year. It had to be a trick if things looked like they were going to get easier this year. She practised the incantation's pronunciation with the rest of the class, and was glad to hear that there wouldn't be any homework expected of her. Rory decided that this professor was alright, and made her escape from the classroom quickly once they were dismissed.

[justify]Signy had been very proud of her brand new badge, her father had been very proud of her which had been nice too. Signy would’ve wanted Andi to get one too, but to her disappointment her cousin hadn’t. The teen wasn’t sure what she’d done to deserve it, but she was happy to keep going at it. The hufflepuff was hoping for a good semester, or well, a good year. Doing her OWLs would be difficult and challenging and she knew she would need to work just a bit harder to keep her grades consistent. She didn’t think she could do any better than she was in them, she was working as hard as she could already and there was little else she could do. Signy was quite excited though, the OWLs were a turning point in her school career where she could focus on more complex classes and spells, it indicated that she was older and had now spent more time at school than there were years left to go. Signy was thinking about graduation in part because of Xavier, but also because it was within her sights, or beginning to be. But those thoughts were a little premature and she had to first focus on passing her owls, then she could consider the rest. With that in mind, she gathered what she needed and headed to class.

Signy walked into the transfiguration classroom, again, nervous about what this new professor might be like. The potions one had been nice, and from that she had high hopes, but she wouldn't know until the professor started. The girl took out her old notes and the new book and placed them in front of her as she wanted for the professor to just get started on whatever this class would involve. The prefect didn't have to wait long, and the professor wasted no time in just getting right into what they were doing that day, or well, for that semester. Vanishing spells. Something she had read about, seen others do, and she was more than ready to learn it herself. The Hufflepuff took a few notes from what the professor was telling them about the process, but was a little disappointed they'd have to wait until the following week before they got to do any of the spells. That was annoying. But, regardless, with that told, and no homework, they were dismissed from the class. Signy didn't think there had been enough time to get to know her, but she was still optimistic that she'd like this professor, so she left the class feeling positive.
