Professor Aeon Summers

Canine Animagus ☼ Spell Inventor Magical Menagerie Proprietor Transfiguration Professor 1-4 Brodie's Familiar

"Good morning everyone!" Aeon greeted the students brightly, a smile on his face. He'd promised them last lesson that today would be more exciting. "Wands out and ready! Today, I would like you to try it out inanimate to animate transfiguration for yourselves." Professor Summers said as the students quickly complied. He withdrew his own and waved it toward his desk. Out of thin air appeared a set of teapots, of varying shapes, colours, and sizes.

"That was a conjuring spell, by the way. You won't learn it until at least 6th year. Sorry." He explained, picking up a teapot and holding it above his head. "You will each turn one of these decorative teapots into a tortoise. I want you all to be very careful when performing this spell. I will be taking points off of your grade if the tortoise breathes steam or has ceramic tiles on its shell. As pretty as it may turn out to be, we're focusing on a complete transformation."

Summers placed a teapot, bright red in colour, onto the surface of his desk. "Torte!" He intoned. With a poof, the teapot changed into a large tortoise, now brown and green.

"Come one by one and take a teapot. It's about time you gave it a try." Once everyone had got a teapot, he added, "When class ends, please bring your tortoise up to the front of the classroom for grading. Have fun, but remember to focus."
Homework:
RP the lesson.

[justify]Simon was eager to get started on this week, he had found that the duelling room was free to practice whenever he wanted to, and the teen knew that he was going to have to start using that to practice. Maybe after all his classes were done for the day he would do so. There was nothing wrong with practicing spells, in fact he would definitely think it was a good use of his time. He wanted to be good at all aspects and that meant spell casting and though they did learn some in class, there was just wasn’t enough time in any of them to really get good at it and be able to master spells, he knew that it just meant he needed to do it in his own time, which was what he was planning on doing. Simon would get good at duelling and spell casting if it was the last thing that he did end up doing. It was also a break from all the reading and studying that he had to do, so he welcomed it quite a lot. It was the first time really that Simon was really getting involved within the school and he was keen to continue and do better in it with each passing year. With that thought SImon headed to class.

Simon walked into the transfiguration classroom and took his seat in the room. He watched the man made teapots appear out of thin air. he liked that kind of spell, so it was a bit of a disappointment when they wouldn't be able to learn that sort of spell until he was in sixth year, and it meant he had to do good in transfiguration until that point. He could do that, if only to learn how to conjure things. He thought it was odd to turn a teapot into a tortoise, but he was keen to try it. He watched as the professor showed them the spell, turning a teapot into a tortoise. It was a cool spell. He walked to the front and took a teapot that was dark blue in colour with white dots all over it and then walked back to his spot. He pulled out his wand and remembered what the professor had shown them. He thought about it turning from what it looked like now to a tortoise. It was pretty good that the professor had gone first so he had a bit of an easier time imagining what a tortoise would look like. "Torte," the boy said, but nothing happened. He did the spell again, and it was then the teapot changed. He marvelled at his work. No matter how basic the spell probably was. And with that, the lesson was over, Simon packed up his things and left the tortoise in the class.

Spider Twin | Logical | Quiet | Creepy

Unlike most other students he saw, Theodore wasn't really all that interested in the exams or nervous about them. They were coming up, but he knew the professors wouldn't ask anything too important or difficult. So far, it had all been easy for him. Easy, but boring. Transfiguration was no exception. Only the lessons about using it for punishment had lit a spark of interest in the boy's eyes. Today, he hoped they would be doing something similar.

Hearing they had to get their wands out and ready to try inanimate to animate transfiguration was somewhat promising, but soon he felt a twinge of disappointment as the professor showed them teapots in varying colors. Theodore's mouth turned down at the corner, that was hardly an interesting object to transfigure. Hearing they would be turning them into tortoise didn't improve his mood in the slightest. He shared a glance with his twin, knowing Edmund would feel similarly to him about this. He watched impassively as Professor Summers demonstrated the spell by turning a bright red teapot into a large tortoise. The color had changed completely, but it still wasn't very impressive to him. Then it was time to take a teapot for himself, and he rushed to the front to get the black one before Edmund could. He was loyal to his twin, but only to an extent. Smirking as Edmund had to settle for a dark purple, Theodore took the black teapot to his desk and started trying the spell. It turned out to be not as easy as he had expected, which frustrated him. Eventually, after many tries, he had a black tortoise on his desk, about the size of the teapot it had been. He knew the color was supposed to have changed, but was still pretty pleased. After all, a black tortoise was a lot more interesting in his opinion. When the lesson was over, he felt like he had done alright. He brought the tortoise to the front and left the classroom with Edmund.

Gabriella remembered how she had been happy not to be too stressed about the exams last week when she entered this classroom. Unfortunately, that had shifted during the past week. The familiar nerves were back, and she hadn't been sleeping well lately. Every time she tried to go to bed early, her brain would start worrying about all the studying she could be doing instead. It was very tiring.

She still felt kind of happy to head into Transfiguration again. It was always interesting, with clear information. She hoped she would understand the concept of inanimate to animate transfiguration better after this lesson, but didn't really doubt that. The professor told them they had to get their wands out, which meant this would be a practical lesson. Gabriella felt a twinge of nervousness over that. Hopefully, she wouldn't fail. She watched as the professor conjured teapots, though she was relieved to hear they wouldn't have to do that until sixth year. Then she listened as he explained what to do. It sounded simple and difficult at once. She watched as the professor showed them how to do it. It looked simple when he did it, but she didn't doubt it would be harder for them.

When it was time, she headed to the front to grab a white teapot. She returned it to her desk carefully and then tried to remember what to do. She had to visualize the tortoise, so she closed her eyes and tried to do that. It was easy after just seeing one in the demonstration, and she focused on the mental image for a while. Then she calmly tapped it with her wand. "Torte." She said. To her delight, the teapot turned into a tortoise. Perhaps it was a bit pale, but she had done it. Without any ceramic tiles at all. She beamed in pride and brought it to the front of the class for grading.

[justify]Fifth week of Transfiguration, Chante wanted to pretend she had selective hearing. Pulling on her robes already when she came into class. Chante sat, hiding underneath her thick cloak. The small little 'protest' didn't last long. Madlyn's warning came in mind and she immediately tossed her robes back. When it came down to doing the actual spell, she lingered around the others to watch them perform their attempts. Professor Summer made it look easy, as always. Chante would have like to skip trying and read up on the subject instead.

Seeing as she had no choice but to participate in the lesson. Chante picked up a golden teacup from the selection up front. Chante set the thing down on her table. With her wand present, she use it to cast the spell. The cup turn to natural green shade and small legs poking at it's side. Chante groans, picturing the tortoise again. A very green, muddy green tortoise. She picture the small legs, shell, tail and it's little head. Chante visualize the land reptilian. Chante cast the spell, turning her object to a living thing. Except, it wasn't all responsive and Chante decided to give up. Chante left the classroom upon dismissal.

Patrick entered the Transfiguration classroom unsure if he wanted to learn a new spell. He enjoyed the last lesson as it gave him a break from doing spells and using his wand, and when the professor told them that they would be learning a new spell, Patrick reluctantly took out his wand. He watched as the professor turned his teapot into a tortoise. When it was turn for the students to do so, it proved to be quite hard. He raised his wand and tried to imagine it a different shape and colour. "Torte." he said. It was not transfiguring and Patrick soon became frustrated. By the end of the lesson the most he managed was the teapot growing two legs and he was not very happy. He left the classroom hoping it didn't matter much before heading to his next class.

[justify]Fifth week of Transfiguration came a little bit too quick for Joshua. Time was flying, his second year will be over soon. Joshua had mixed feeling about that. In one hand, he was happy that he's made it this far in his study without actually dying. On the other hand, Joshua knew these lessons were going to get tougher and scarier, and that alone scared him to bits. It doesn't seem to end, the fear of everything. Or, maybe they were simply just doubts holding him back. He hasn't figured that out yet.

There is one thing he did accomplished this year, he gotten better with the stammering and all. He wonder if anyone taken noticed? Joshua came to class with his hands in his pockets, and one already clutching his wand. Joshua sat down and took in today's lesson. Tea cups? Tortoise? Joshua will give it a shot. The boy stood up and practiced on the spell. He didn't do it right away, because he pretty sure he never seen a tortoise up close before. Joshua stared at his neighbor perform the spell like a pro. Joshua, shyly huffed and asked them for a little help. It wasn't easy, graciously, they agreed to help Joshua. Joshua worked on the spell for the remaining of the class period.

[justify]Fifth class rolled with Alexis seated in her Transfiguration class. They were promised a fun lesson last time and the Ravenclaw made sure to be early for the class. Soon enough, the class started with Prof. Summers telling them to take out their wands which Alexis already did. The next thing the class knew was a couple of teapots appearing on their desks. She was amazed at the conjuring spell and she could not wait for them to learn it in four years time. Prof. Summers explained on what they were to do. To animate them into tortoises. Alexis looked at her teapot, a blue with pink blossoms printed on it. She looked up at the professor to listen for more insturctions before they were told to proceed. Alexis cleared her throat and took a deep breath before she tapped the teapot and said,"Torte." She watched as the teapot seemed to vibrate before somehow melting as it changed its form. The Ravenclaw continued watching until its transformation was complete. Alexis beamed as she gently picked up her tortoise and brought it to Prof. Summers' desk for grading. Satisfied with her grade, she packed her stuff and left the room before going to the library for some books.
