The next few moments happened in a blur. So much was happening so quickly. Why was nobody helping? Analei then realized that she wasn't helping either. She was just standing there. Somewhere in the distance someone yelled to get help. Everything that had slowed down quickly sped up again and she noticed Zennon and Emilia standing near her, and connecting with their eyes, she felt herself bought back down to the ground. Though her heart was racing, her mind quickly wondering why in Merlin's name the Hospital Wing was so far away, Analei turned and ran back into the Great Hall looking for her Head of House. She couldn't find her, but the first one she did lock eyes with was the Gryffindor Head of House. "Professor! Professor! It's - it's - he's out - he needs help." Analei didn't know quite what else to say, but grabbed onto the confused lady's arm, and started running, grateful that even though she hadn't explained herself properly and the Head of House looked very puzzled, she came anyway.

There was some sort of crowd blocking the entrance hall. Great. Terrific. Exactly what October wanted to be dealing with when she had places to be. She could feel herself becoming more and more on edge as exams drew nearer... it always seemed like there was more that needed to be done, and her patience was wearing thinner and thinner. Luckily, a hefty arm full of books was helpful when you needed to nudge your way through a crowd, and so nudge she did, making her way through the group of people. What October hadn't expected to see was the sight before her. One of her teachers, lying passed out on the floor. Even as all the blood drained from her in fear, October's mind flashed back to the first aid classes dad had made her take, in case the worst should ever happen. Stepping forward, she urged the crowds back. "Everybody get BACK, stop GAWKING, he needs medical attention!" She snapped, glaring at people. "Someone go get a teacher, or a nurse, or-" In looking around, October could see Matt approaching, no doubt drawn by the commotion. For once she was actually glad to see him, foregoing any formality for the sake of urgency. "Matt! Profesor Pendleton is unconscious!"

HNZ Class of 2023/ Gryffindor HoH/Mom of 3

Professor Kingsley had slowly returned to being more present during meals, still a far cry from her daily attendance but certainly more normal. She was just heading out, still eating a piece of toast when a student locked onto her arm. Though the young girl's exclamation made little sense, Cyndi's heart rate kicked higher as she realized something was wrong. The crowd was thick just outside of the Great Hall, and not with the usual movement to classes. The students had surrounded someone, and being taller certainly had its benefits as she could see beyond the young crowd to the center. It was Monty on the floor!

The woman locked eyes with her colleague who'd been moving in this direction as well and then she sprung into action. "Honey, what's your name?" she began, looking at the young girl who'd pulled her along. "Analei, I need you to find a nurse and tell them what's happened. Tell them Professor Ward and I are with him, but they need to come help" she nudged the little girl off. Moving forward, Cyndi gestured for the students to step back. "He needs breathing room. Step back children" she said, shooing them back again as she kneeled. "Monty? Monty? Can you hear me?" she said, reaching for his hand and trying to keep hysterics from her voice. She didn't want to alarm the students though she had no idea what had happened. Hopefully, Analei would get a nurse here and soon.

The commotion outside in the entrance hall hadn't escaped Matt's attention, and he had gotten up from his seat at the table to see what was happening. Before anything else, his gaze moved to the Hufflepuff table to make sure April was there, safe and sound. Then it went to Ravenclaw, but he didn't see October there. What if it was her that was hurt? But the moment he stepped out of the great hall, he spotted her. Relieved, he didn't immediately notice she had started to talk to him. But soon her words made sense and he looked over at the figure everyone was staring at. "You did a good job." He told her, referring to her earlier words to the other students. "Stay here, it will be okay." He made his way over to Professor Pendleton, telling nearby students to give him space. He reached his side just as Professor Kingsley did as well, and was glad not to be alone. He had the urge to kneel at Monty's side as well, but knew they shouldn't overcrowd him. Instead, he turned to the nearby students. "Everyone, give him some space. It's best if you return to your common room, we will help Professor Pendleton now." He said firmly, looking at a few students in turn. He wasn't sure if any of them would listen, but also didn't want Monty to have such a large crowd around him when he woke up. He wanted to reassure them that he would be fine when he didn't know that for sure so he didn't say the words. He turned to look at him, then noticed two students lingering nearby him. He looked at the older Gryffindor and younger Slytherin girl. "That goes for you two as well, give him space. We're handling this now." He told them, gesturing for them to at least take some distance.

The girl that had nudged the Professor muttered something under her breath, but Falon thought it was hardly the time to retaliate. She would try and remember her face, so she knew who to scowl at when she was having a bad day. Thankfully, the Professor seemed to come to for a second, so Falon didn't have to try figure out how to find a pulse. She'd never had to do that before, never had a reason to, and though she had no idea what to do, she felt like she couldn't just stand and watch. Thankfully, thankfully someone had gotten some Professors, and as the arrived, Falon quickly moved back out of the way, listening to what her Head of House said and Professor Ward said; however she did not want to go to her Common Room. She needed to know that he was okay.

Out of breath already, Analei told her Professor her name. She nodded in understanding; though the Hospital Wing was so far away, Analei took off running, the adrenaline kicking in and keeping her going. She dropped her bag in the Entrance Hall so she didn't have to worry about all her books - hoping that Emilia or Zennon would pick it up and give it to her later. All she had to do was get to the Hospital Wing, then she could rest there. Analei definitely was not the most fit and was probably not the fastest person to have sent but she didn't stop until she got there, breathing out what happened to the nurses, before sitting on a bed, trying to catch her breath.

Everything was happening so fast, and Emilia felt weak as she did nothing but stare in silence. She felt relieved as Professor Kingsley and Professor Ward appeared, though she didn't want to listen to what Professor Ward said. She watched as Analei ran off after talking to the professor she had warned, and realized her stuff was still here. Emilia immediately scooped up her book bag, though it was rather heavy. Vaguely, she wondered if she had forgotten to bring a few books today as her own bag was a lot lighter, but what did it matter? She just wanted to know if the Professor would be alright.

Everything was happening so fast. The red head nodded as Mervyn proceeded to give her a running commentary, and she kept glancing between Monty, the crowds of people, and her best friend, as though standing there doing nothing was going to fix it. "People should know it's not kind to kick someone when their down. How would she like it?" Leda was obviously still focused on the older girls behaviour, feeling as though she should have been ashamed for her actions against a Professor of all people. Leda's arms crossed over her chest, as she considered how unorganised the school system seemed to be when someone greeting the floor was met with such a barrage of panic. When Professors finally arrived, and they were all told to go back to their houses, Leda wasn't quite sure how she was supposed to just abandon the scene around them. It was not only much too concerning, but also much too interesting, and the second year wanted as much information as she could gather. While the events were unfolding around them, it gave the Slytherin a good chance to scope without being noticed, and no doubt would be the talk of the school for weeks to come. Leda's eyes watched the commotion around them, and her frown intensified when Professor Kingsley knelt down beside Monty and took his hand. "Don't think now really seems like the best idea for marriage proposal," she mumbled to her companion, never one to consider she may be taking things a little out of context and proportion.

Odette was staring at Professor Pendleton as she knelt next to him, hoping to see some sort of sign of life. She didn't notice the professors had arrived until Professor Kingsley was also kneeling next to him. Finally, she got up again, taking a small step backward. She ended up standing next to the older girl that had also been near the professor and glanced up at her. She didn't seem to be budging despite the professor's words, and that made Odette glad as she wasn't planning on leaving either. She watched silently, hoping Professor Pendleton would react to Professor Kingsley's question.

As Professor's finally made their way into he Entrance hall, Zennon looked over to hear a girl from his house commenting on the Gryffindor head of house. He raised an eyebrow at her. "Do you think they're together?" He asked, moving closer to her to have a hushed conversation over the commotion. "Isn't Professor Kingsley married to the Minister of Magic?" He asked, hungry to cling onto a potential scandal. If this was true, oh Merlin, he was sure that had to be why Jacob had been so miserable lately. Maybe he knew about this! It was a shame, Professor Pendleton didn't seem the type.

Sapphire wanted to rush in like the other students, but she knew that the Professor was going to be mortified over this whole ordeal. She clutched her bag tightly. A few more Professors had joined the fray now, and one had sent another student to the nurse's office. Sapphire wanted to go help, but she didn't know anything about this kind of thing. Cuts, scrapes, blood. She could fix that. This... This was different.

She swallowed nervously. She needed to leave. She needed to get out of here before Professor Pendleton woke up. She didn't want to contribute to his embarrassement. She took a deep breath and turned, heading back the way she came. Her plan was to head for the Hufflepuff hallway. She needed to see Ollie- now. He could calm her back down. She knew it.

She dared one last glance at Professor Pendleton. Please, please let him be okay.

As by degrees the fog began to recede, Monty became conscious of a familiar voice above him. Odette. Why was Odette here? His eyes drifted open and closed, exhaustion wrestling with his consciousness. No - he had to stay awake. Something was wrong. A sense of rising panic pervaded the hall, of which Monty could see little past the black holes in his vision. His heart began to palpitate. Had he fainted? Just seconds earlier, he had been standing, though he could not remember where he was, or tell how much time had really passed since then. It could have been six seconds, or sixty - perhaps longer. All he knew was that everybody was staring at him.

The crowd of legs suddenly parted, and two sets more approached. Monty felt Cyndi's hand in his, and though he was humiliated to see her, something like relief edged in past the confusion. It was OK. Cyndi and Matt were here. Except that it wasn't OK, because he had let Cyndi down, and he was tired, too tired to respond, or to move, or to do anything but lie there uselessly, pathetically, an embarrassing spectacle. He shut his eyes, but could not block out the world; the hallway chatter was growing louder, more distinct, his memory returning in scrambled pieces. He felt sick again, and cold, though his skin was clammy with sweat. Instinct urged him to move, to get up; fatigue insisted he stay put. This was it. This was the end of his career. He'd reached the lowest of achievable lows. And the strange part was, the thought comforted him. With nothing left to lose, he didn't have to pretend any more. He didn't have to pretend he was OK. It was over.

Almost. Fear and embarrassment snatched away his short-lived relief as he remembered where he was. Removing his hand from Cyndi's, he curled more tightly in on himself, shielding his face with his wrist. Matt had told the children to leave, but nobody seemed to be leaving. Why was nobody leaving? Why couldn't everybody just leave him alone? Tears brimmed rapidly behind his eyelids. His wrist muffled his quiet sobs, though he could not help his shoulders shaking, or disguise the pain distorting his face. He didn't even try to stop it, to spare himself or anybody else the humiliation. He couldn't. The emotions he had tethered for so long were finally loose from their chains, and he was too tired to hold them back.

October had never known relief as great as seeing Professor Kingsley and Matt take charge of the situation. Now there was someone here who could actually look after Professor Pendleton properly. She stepped back, a little surprised when Matt told her to stay, but it was also something of a relief. Even having told others not to gawk, October didn't really want to leave herself. She wanted to know Professor Pendleton was going to be okay. While Professor Kingsley was looking after him October overheard a couple of younger students gossiping, and her blood boiled. "Weren't you asked to leave?" She said in a firm undertone, turning on the two younger Slytherins. "Professor Pendleton is clearly having a medical emergency, this is no time to gossip and joke around. I suggest you run along and give him some privacy!" Turning back to the main focus of the commotion, October was surprised to see that Professor Pendleton seemed to be conscious now, and... crying? Her heart broke and she looked away quickly. October didn't know what could make a teacher cry, but it certainly wasn't something half the school should be witnessing. He deserved more dignity than that.

It had been a completely regular day for Nixon until he approached the great hall to get snack. Professors and students yelling in all directions was definitely not part of a regular day for him and the commotion caused him to pause his steps and look over to the crowd curiously. Despite the professors telling the students to leave, only a few from the group actually followed the instruction and it made Nixon wonder why they weren't moving. Was there some cool but gruesome sight to see? Did one of the magical creatures kept by the professors escape and the crowd was gathering to catch a glimpse of it? Nixon's curiosity soon got the better of him and he stepped closer to see the source of the ruckus. Unfortunately he could not get a good look without trying to get even closer.

My precious child~

Lunch duty Bella often found worse than at night. During the day, kids would talk to you, or just be loud in general. She didn't think she was ever as loud or abrupt when she was that age; it just went to show how different the world was getting. Having enough of the outside, Bella stepped into the Entrance Hall, her eyes immediately landing on a commotion. Hoping it wasn't some sort of fight, Bella kept her hand on her wand as she made her way over to the gathering crowd. Thankfully, there were already some Professors there, but Bella's eyes widened at the sight before her. Her deputy was on the floor, and she wasn't sure, but it was possible he was crying. This was definitely not a sight anyone wanted the students to see. Bella marched her way over and stood in front of Kingsley and Ward who were helping. "Alright, clear off the lot of you. I'm not afraid to give out detentions or take house points from anyone who lingers." Bella snapped, before looking at the couple of students who were standing close. "That goes for you two as well." Although Bella hasn't really spoken to Pendleton before, she had wanted to impress him, as he was the deputy. Now she felt like she needn't bother.
