Professor Harrington was excited for this lesson, it was going to be fun and she hoped the students would think so as well. "Evening, students. Today we are going to be looking at famous wizarding astronomers. These pioneers of astronomy have helped us understand fact from fiction." While the students thought over what she said she paused a moment before continuing. "Does anybody know of any famous wizarding astronomers?" She picked a student among the raised hands. "I've heard of one; Harmony Salvatore." a student replied and she smiled and said, "Correct." "Now, let us discuss Harmony Salvatore: Salvatore was born in 1743 and she attended Hogwarts Scotland. Thanks to her father's large income, Salvatore bought her way into getting good grades... except for astronomy. Salvatore discovered that the 'solar flares' coming from the sun are in fact magic that we use. She had a brother called Francis, and he tried to cover up these accusations because he envied her magical abilities- him being a squib." Professor Harrington often wonder if there was a squib in one of her parent's lines that lead to both her and November being muggleborn. "Now, Another astronomer was Romedius Gilmour. He had lead the first society of Cosmolidia- which is an organization that investigates extra-terrestrial beings in the magical world. As we learnt earlier this semester, extra-terrestrials do, in fact, exist. These people are still around today, protecting our magical world. Not to mention they work in conjunction with the British MI5. And the last person is Annabelle Beavis who was the founder of the Mortmyron Observatory." "Come, touch the port key. We must be off," she said standing over an old boot, some students didn't seem impressed by her choice of portkey but they all managed to take ahold. Professor Harrington smiled at the class and said, "This, students, is Bishop's Rock." It was very loud with water crashing on the rocky shore. "This is the Mortmyron Observatory, which was built by..?" She paused, waiting for an answer. "Annabelle Beavis." A student called back, she smiled and awarded the student extra points for answering so quickly. "We are going to have a look inside. It's completely abandoned now." She led them to a trapdoor on the ground and cast a spell to release the padlock which kept out anyone without a wand. Sarah cast Lumos Maxima and the whole room lit for them to see magical telescopes, long abandoned and out of use, a large glass dome roof and sketchings of their solar system and many others. There were many doorways leading elsewhere but their time was limited so she said, "You have twenty minutes to explore but please have sense. If it looks delicate to touch, please do not touch. Otherwise be kind to the objects here." Sarah also excited to see the insides walked around but was sure to be by the entrance before the minutes were up, planning to visit again. However twenty minutes past and they returned the same way they came, once more without homework. Homework: RP the lesson! Astronomy,7,4 |

Tholomyes was pleased that he didn’t have to worry about quidditch for a bit of time, it was always a nice break after he had played a game. It was just better, easier. The teen ran a hand through his hair as he began getting ready for the day, he needed to spend more time now studying, now that the quidditch season was pretty much over for him. He didn’t have to worry about anything other than naming a successor and that would be just fine, he and Isabelle would manage that fine. The teen was getting himself ready for the day, he had spent a few hours in the morning before class doing some more revision, there was no time to stop now, he had so much that needed to be done for all of his classes and the graduation date was fast approaching, the moment he would be all done, Theo wasn’t sure what he’d actually do with himself. So much of his life had been school, and it would just all end. He didn’t linger on such thoughts but instead just got himself ready and left for the first class he had that, he needed to remain focused. After the prior lesson on muggle astronomers, Tholomyes had done quite a bit of reading on the subject itself. Eventually getting to magical astronomers, a topic they didn't cover nearly as much as Theo had thought they might. The teen walked into the astronomy professor, giving a small hello to the professor as he took his seat in the room. Tholomyes was pleased that they would actually be covering magical astronomers in this lesson, it could give his own reading on the matter a little more focus than it had had before. He raised his had at the question, "I've heard of one; Harmony Salvatore," the boy said with a small smile, since he had just done a little reading on her. The boy listened as the professor explained who she was in similar detail to the book he'd been reading had talked about her, but he was glad when they moved on to another astronomer. He took out his quill and began writing down what she was saying about the next astronomer. He was surprised when the lesson wouldn't just be learning about them, but actually visiting. He took ahold of the portkey and was transported with the rest of his class to the Mortmyron observatory. He looked around and then began to have a look around as the professor said they were able to. Visually it was interesting, he wanted go back home and attempt to draw it himself. He thought it could have a number of interesting features. The twenty minutes flew by and Tholomyes was back at school, leaving the room and debating what he would do first, study or draw.
