Professor Harrington yawned slightly as she finished setting up the classroom. Grading the first year’s homework on a planet of their choice was interesting and made her think about going over the planets again with the second years. Setting up the lesson hadn’t taken very long. She waved her wand for the door to open once she heard some murmurs outside. Today Sarah thought would be an interesting day for the students. She had set up little stations around the room, one for each planet of their solar system. “Welcome back second years! Today you are to walk around to each station about the various planets and take notes. You have until the end of the period to do so. I hope this will be review for most of you, next week we will begin to focus on the Sun and stars." With that Professor Harrington set the students loose to take notes on the planets. . The Planets A Closer Look The class seemed to fly by as the students walked around to each little station that was filled with facts about the planets as well as a display of the planet in picture and models. She hoped they enjoyed this set up for the day. "Alright, if you've finished at this time you may leave the class, the rest I would advise for you to continue each station until you've finished," Professor Harrington said to her class. No Homework just rp the lesson as normal. Astronomy,2,2 |

Simon was looking forward to the valentines dance that was happening at the end of the week. He didn’t have a date for it, nor had he actually asked anyone about going with him. It had crossed his mind to ask charlotte but he was more than certain he would just run into her at the thing itself, they always seemed to find each other at those sorts of things and he knew that that would be fine. He liked her as a friend, but as nothing more than that. Though she was one of the nicer people at this school, and one of the few people that Simon actually liked at all. The part-veela shook such thoughts from his head as he began getting ready for the day, it was better to focus on the work he needed to be doing than on silly things like who he liked and didn’t like. The young ravenclaw took his time getting ready, ensuring that he had all the books and homework that he would need for the day ahead. Simon was always making sure that he had everything so that he could face the day well, and with everything together he packed up his things and left for the class. Simon walked into the astronomy classroom and then took his seat in the room. He was looking forward to this lesson. He was surprised when the lessons set up was a little different than normal but the point of the lesson was simple, walk around, learn about the planets from the station, it was a pretty interest way of showing them, but it was more involved, not just a simple lecture. Simon took his notes and began making his way around the room, looking at each of the stations and writing down all the important information that each of them gave. It didn't take particularly long to go around, but Simon went around several times to ensure he had everything he could possibly need written down. So that he would not be lacking on any piece of information. The lesson was eventually wrapped up and Simon packed up his things, leaving the room and heading directly to the library where he could read back the notes and tidy them up so that they would be far neater and tidier. He had liked learning about the planets, it hadn't had too much information but enough to keep him interested. |

The planets did indeed seem a review of pretty basic material for Stella, but as she looked around the room and saw the stations the professor had set up, she was eager to look around nevertheless. Stella had been keen to start on the topic about the stars, and possibly learn some things she didn't already know (although frankly, her obsessive reading of any astronomy book she could get her hands on, including the textbook, made that unlikely), but hey, an interactive lesson was always fun. And rare, for this class. Stella didn't understand why all the classes were at night, when they hardly did any stargazing. Wouldn't it make more sense to have the non-practical Astronomy classes during the day, when the students weren't so - she yawned - tired? Stella wandered happily among the displays on the planets. They were well-presented, and there weren't any inaccuracies she could see, which was a very welcome change from last year's Astronomy lessons. The temperatures were even listed in degrees Celsius, so that actual normal New Zealand kids could understand them. On the other hand, the information presented seemed rather haphazard to Stella; there was a different set of facts for each planet, and some of them were phrased in oddly whimsical ways. Stella took notes on each, and left gaps for the information that was included for some but not others, intending to fill them in later. Edited by Stella Wright, Mar 23 2018, 12:27 AM.
