Patriarch of the Zhefarovich Family, Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor, Slytherin Head of House, Former Death Eater, Legilimens, Occlumens

The last lesson of the semester, and then exams were around the corner. Professor Styx was relieved that exams would be coming around. Once all the first years had arrived, his onyx eyes glanced up from behind his desk, and he straightened up in his chair. He continued on, "Greetings. Today you will be studying in preparation for your exams. Get out your notes and get studying on them. Also, if you have any make up assignments, go on ahead and finished them up. I expect silence, and work solo." Professor Styx went back to grading some other assignments as the students studied. And once the bell rang, the students were free to be dismissed.

Assignment: Roleplay the lesson and make up any work you missed in the make-up topic.

Jacob couldn't believe it was almost the end of his very first semester of wizarding school. Taking his seat, Jacob didn't have to wait long for the professor to explain what they had to do. Of course he wanted silence. Professor Styx was such a fun killer. Opening his notebook up, Jacob tried his best to study quietly. But it was hard. He kept catching himself wanting to drum with his quill, or make any noise at all. So he was relieved when he was able to leave.

Zoe sat restlessly through the lesson, fidgeting and unable to really concentrate. The silence was not something that she was used to - she always had background noise when she studied. As she did not have any catch up assignments to do, the only thing she could do was to sit still and revise everything they had learned.

She was a little surprised that the year had gone so quickly. Mariah told her that Second Year promised more: more fun, more activities, and more friends. Zoe was a little apprehensive about the friends part, but she had made more friends, and for that she was grateful.

She was confident that her own study methods worked better, so after a lot more daydreaming than studying, Zoe was relieved to hear that they could go.

Sam was nervous about exams coming up. It was her first set of exams at the school and she wanted to make her father proud of her, to convince him that she should stay at Hogwarts. She checked what she had now, which was Defence Against the Dark Arts. Sam didn't know how the last week of lessons worked before exams, and she hoped they wouldn't learn anything new but instead revise what they had learned. She waited for her head of house to speak, a short speech at that. Sam felt relieved more than anything. She thought and worked better in silence, so it was better this way.

Sapph wondered into class, taking her usual seat next to Alkander. At least, she would've if he was here yet. She turned her attention to her head of house, and was pleasantly surprised for a study hall. She pulled out her previous notes and reviewed them, drifting in and out of daydreams as the class went on.

Once they were dismissed, she decided she needed some air, gathering her things and heading outside.

Diana had enjoyed the first semester at Hogwarts somewhat, though she did feel it left a lot to be desired. She had managed to avoid her sisters for the most part, which was good. But soon they would all be in one house again. At least she would be able to make Alice jealous with stories about Hogwarts like her older sisters had done to her over the past years. Perhaps she could spook Alice with stories about Professor Styx. She didn't think so, as Alice wasn't really that easily scared. She would have to make up something worse if she even wanted to attempt it. She subtly stuck out her tongue at Jacob as she passed him on the way to her seat, then started to study like the professor told them to. She read over her notes from the lessons, though she found it hard to focus. It was like it was too silent in the classroom for her to concentrate. When the lesson ended, she didn't feel like she had learned that much.

As Gwen was almost finished with the first semester of her first year at a new school she was beginning to realise how much she disliked it. She liked meeting new people and having fun but didn't really like most of the classes she was told to go to. Luckily, it was the last week of classes now and so Gwen was sure that the professors wouldn't make them learn anything new. Confident that this lesson would be good, Gwen packed everything she needed into her backpack and headed down to her first class. As she entered the Defence Against The Dark Arts room she took her usual seat in the room and opened up her textbook when instructed, reading over the notes in hopes that she knew everything that the exam was going to ask her. She was quite confident with how well she did in the quiz last lesson and was sure that it would be fine. At the end of the lesson the Gryffindor packed everything away and headed straight to her next class.

Anastasie was glad that the semester was almost over but also a bit unhappy with her time at Hogwarts so far. She didn't like many of the people there and just wanted to find a friend who could understand her and possibly relate to her feelings. Feeling slightly down, Ana packed everything she needed for the last lesson of the week and headed straight to her Defence Against The Dark Arts class. As she took a seat she was happy to hear that they would simply be revising on their own and Ana happily sat there doing so throughout the whole lesson, looking over everything she had in hopes that it would all be in the exam. The lesson seemed shorter than what it was and by the time the Slytherin knew it the professor was dismissing them. Packing up her things, Ana left the classroom without saying a word and headed to her next class with her head down, refusing to interact with anyone around her.

Mazikeen had loved everything to do with school so far, there hadn’t been a moment when she hadn’t been able to find something to do that was entertaining. The gryffindor knew that hogwarts would’ve been the most amount of fun ever, and yet it had surpassed that, all expectations of it. She was loving being a gryffindor, she was loving being able to have all the freedom she did, she loved the friends she had made, even if they were prettier and had many other people besides her. The young gryffindor was getting ready for the day, she was putting her hair up into a small ponytail since it had grown quite a bit in the last year. She’d need it cut over the break. Maze grabbed her wand and left the classroom, heading straight to the class that she had first,, ready and eager to have some fun in the day and hopefully learn something too. Mazikeen couldn't believe that her first semester was almost over, Maze looked up at the professor as the defence against the dark arts professor just allowed them to study. She had heard about this being a thing at hogwarts and was almost a bit disappointed that it was. However she took out her books and began studying. She had to really focus herself upon that, finding it difficult to focus on her studies within the class. However, thankfully it didn't take too long till they were dismissed from the class.

Derek couldn’t honestly believe how quickly the semester had gone by, he had loved every second of it, nothing could’ve prepared him for how good this place would be, but every day presented him with a new challenge that he could do well in, whether it was in a spell or an essay. The slytherin had known he’d enjoy it, but perhaps he hadn’t realised how much he would like it. The boy felt energised and enthusiatic about everything that magic had offered him so fat, and Derek wasn’t a huge fan of reading but he was enjoying the occasionally little bit for the classes he had. He didn’t think he would become some enthusiatic reader, but he was surprising himself with it. With that thought the boy closed over the Defence against the dark arts book and grabbed what he would need before bounding out of the dorm room. Derek walked into the defence against the dark classroom, his gaze shifted to the front of the room. When everyone had arrived the professor got started. Derek wasn't much of a studier, but since his exams were just about to happen he knew he needed to at least give it his best try. He studied a little, getting frequently distracted and with very little of it being covered or going in but he was smiling to himself and he didn't pass an awful hour. As soon as they could leave he did, while it hadn't been that bad, he didn't want it to continue. He needed a break from all the studying.
