Professor Harrington loved being a teacher, for a long time she had been a teacher at a muggle school for the youngest of years. Now she was teaching the youngest generation of students at Hogwarts. She loved seeing some who enjoyed to learn about the stars just as much as she had when she was a student at Hogwarts Scotland. She had long promised these young first years of a night where the lesson would mainly focus on them actually looking up at the stars and tonight was that night. The sky was perfect as the last bit of the sun's light was fading over the horizon and the stars began to sun brightly against the black sky. "Welcome first years!" Sarah said excitedly as the young children began to walk into the classroom. "Now, tonight is the night. We are going to gaze up at the universe. I'd like everyone to get into pairs firsts," she said pausing for them to form their own groups. When a case of an extra student popped up she'd allow them to join a pair, she needed to be able to walk around to each group not having her own partner for the night. "Right, now we will take a telescope up, one per group. So someone can carry it up and another can carry it down," Sarah said as she began to lead them out of their classroom and up to the upper level of the Astronomy tower. She could hear excited whispering going on behind her and she smiled at it thinking how cute it was. "Alright, quiet now," Professor Harrington said with a pause to let the chatter fade down as they all stood in the viewing room. "Tonight I want you all to look for the location of the North Star, I'm joking of course we are far too South to see the North Star here. Instead I want you all to find the three stars of the Pot. Which, any Northern born students who know anything about stars will recognize this as Orion, only here he appears to be upside down and the stars make more of a saucepan shape, similar to the dipper constellations." She walked around for awhile helping the students point their telescopes in the correct direction. "Alright, I just want to mention before we go a little more about the North Star, in astronomy we refer to it as Polaris and it's part of the constellation Ursa Minor, this may appear in your exams so mark that down. Also having a wonderful night!" She said dismissing the class. Homework: Roleplay the lesson Astronomy,1,5 |

Sam enjoyed all of her classes, but her favourite subject was, doubtlessly, Astronomy. She found it relaxing, after a long day of studying and even though it was more learning it was the type that Sam was into. Space. It was normal and it made her feel closer to her mother. She smiled briefly as she finished climbing the tower and entered the classroom, a little out of breath. Man these stairs were something to get used to. She brightened when she saw Professor Harrington, because she loved her optimism towards teaching Astronomy, it was refreshing. She grinned for the first time in a while when the woman mentioned what they would be doing tonight, and she quickly got into pairs with someone and she offered to carry it up. When they arrived to their spot, she listened to the prof‘s instructions and when she was done explaining she glanced at the other student before she looked into the telescope and together the pair found all three Pots...hopefully. She knew about Orion, having grown up in Scotland for most of her life. She noted the last part down in her mind, shed get more information about Polaris tomorrow. When they were dismissed, Sam grabbed her things and once back at the classroom she thanked Professor Harrington and headed to the dorms. |

It was another late lesson of astronomy, but Jacob didn't care. He just hated the stairs in front of the classroom, they made him tired. Jacob entered the classroom and spotted the telescopes around, he was sure they were going to be used in this lesson. Jacob paired up and the girl seemed to want to carry the telescope up. He didn't mind and just wanted to look through it. When they arrived at the upper level the girl could go first. He didn't mind the wait and he liked the calmness of the classroom. In the end he and the girl found all the things they had to find. It was harder than he had expected, but the outcome was great. It looked amazing to see everything from up close. He just wished there was more information that the Professor provided. It seemed he missed a lot and he wanted more and more. In the end he carried the telescope back down and left the classroom. |

Sapph wondered into the astronomy classroom in time to follow the other students up the ladder. It seemed they were looking at stars, and she managed to catch her fellow Slytherin Diana just before she went up. It had looked like the other students had all paired off and Sapph didn't think Diana would appreciate being alone. Sapph carried the telescope back down to class to try and make it up to the other Slytherin for being late, and then she went on her way again. She had a lot on her mind tonight and she just couldn't seem to focus. |

Kira seemed to be one of the last ones to pair off in class, and she felt really more self-conscious than usual when she was paired with a student she didn't know. She focused on the lesson more than she needed to, following the Professor's instructions exactly. Even distracted as she was, this class was still fascinating. She found herself wondering what her new brother was doing as she looked up at the night sky. Once class had been dismissed, she returned to her tower and began writing him a letter, wondering if Tyra would mind. |

Diana was happy to go to Astronomy as usual, though her expression didn't really say as much. She headed into the classroom and took a seat. She was excited about the upcoming stargazing they were going to do, as it was something she had hoped for from the moment the first lesson had started. She ended up pairing with Sapphire, a girl in her house. She didn't know her that well but knew she could tolerate her. Diana was a little annoyed to carry the telescope up. They had house elves for that sort of thing, didn't they? She had a scowl on her face as she waited for them to begin, but it soon softened as the professor explained what they were going to do today. After the professor explained what they had to do, they got started. Diana managed to find the stars they were supposed to be looking for and spent probably more than her fair share staring through the telescope. It just fascinated her. Sapphire carried down the telescope after the lesson was over, which was good. Diana had a smile on her face as she left the classroom. |

Gerry was rather excited about getting to stargaze. She was not so happy about having to partner up. She had been here almost a semester and didn't really have friends or know that many people. Hopefully, she wouldn't talk her partner's ear off like she normally did when nervous. She carried the telescope up the stairs and set it up. It wasn't as fancy her father's digital one, but that just made it easier to work with. Happily, it seemed like her partner was content to ignore her chatter and just star gaze. Gerry grew silent anyway staring upwards. She smiled at upside down Orion. It was one of her favourite constellations because it was visible in New York and Dunedin. She made sure to note down the professor's information about Polaris in her notebook. When the lesson was over, her partner took the telescope back down. Gerry stayed for moment to stare up at the sky. Then she descended the stairs, collected her things and left the astronomy tower. |
