Professor Styx entered his classroom to see that everyone was not in here just yet. Professor Styx was not in a sour mood, but rather in a collected mood which was the best mood one could ever get with Professor Styx. Proefssor Styx sat down behind his desk and noticed that the third years had started to pile in and take their seats. Once everyone was in, he waved his hand at the doors and they closed. He was going to have a short lesson with them, but they would end up having homework anyhow. "Today we will be doing vampires as promised. Vampires are classified as 'Beings' there are regulation guidelines set out by the Ministry governing how those who are neither wizard nor wholly human should be treated." Taking a pause for a moment, he continued, "Vampires live on a diet as it were of blood, they drink it. The most crude way of course by biting into another human, though more and more do go to blood banks now for their supplies. They are extremely pale and abhor garlic immensely. Now I won't keep you too long today but I will expect you to take down the homework before you go." The board wrote by itself that the class was to do at least a detailed essay. "Class dismissed." Professor Styx waved his hand at the doors and they opened to allow the students to leave the classroom. Professor Styx doubted that any of them would ever come across a vampire. Assignment: Roleplay the lesson and do the homework.Defence Against the Dark Arts,3,4 |

Sara arrived to Defence, and she entered the classroom noticing she was the first person here. She shrugged and took a seat, it was always better to be early than late, especially for this class. Sara rather liked learning what they did in the class, and she was glad that Styx wasn't in a sour mood today, because she didn't need the bad energy right now. She needed to do well and she worked best in a positive environment. The third year took notes, throughout the lesson. Vampires had always been seen as a myth, and not as real. Sara didn't celebrate Halloween at home, but her few muggle friends she went to school with when she was younger did. Sara herself never liked the idea of it much. The only reason she had gone to the feast this year was because she needed to do something else besides studying or reading, or being outside. She blinked. The lesson was over just like that. Once they were dismissed, Sara wrote down the homework, packed up and headed out of the classroom.

Although she didn't like learning jinxes and hexes to use on innocent people, learning about dangerous beasts was fun. Elly walked into the classroom and sat down. She was happy and grabbed her stuff. Professor Styx seemed to be in a decent mood himself and Elly started to take notes. Elly knew vampires from the stories and myths she used to hear. But the magical vampires didn't sparkle nor had super strength. Vampires did sound scary and the main aspects were still there. They could bite you and then drink your blood. It was also possible to get a relationship with a vampire and make part vampire children. Where as a werewolf wouldn't make part werewolf children. Vampires sounded pretty cool and Elly wondered if there were vampires at Hogwarts. Most of the Slytherins looked rather pale, but maybe that was because they got less sunlight than the others. Maybe Professor Styx was one, you couldn't really tell. She didn't even know what his diet would be. Elly smiled at the homework and started on it immediately. She needed to get up to date with everything.

Defense against the dark arts was one of the only few topics he decided to keep from the original classes. He wasn't very good at magic, but DADA was doable. It was like care of the magical creatures with deadly ones. Perry smiled and walked into the classroom. He seated himself down and grabbed his stuff. They had done spirits, beasts and this class was going to be about a being. The lesson was about vampires and Perry was almost glued to the Professor his lips. It did sound really interesting and Perry wondered what would happen if a bloodbank found out they were getting robbed by a gang of vampires. It did sound way too fantasy like and Perry wondered if they were a myth. That this whole story was made up to make some fancy lesson out of it. Although he was skeptic, he didn't want to meet one anytime soon. When the lesson was over Perry wandered out of the classroom. Vampires were a bit scary, but he still wondered were they were. He had never seen one in his life. Maybe that said something about him being a muggleborn. |

Defense Against the Dark Arts was Beata's favorite class, and she hoped the in the future years she would only grow to love the subject more. The girl walked into the classroom and took a seat in the second row because her usual seat was occupied by someone else. She took out her notes when Professor Styx started to discuss the topic of the day: Vampires. They were interesting creatures from what the Professor was saying, but she would never want to encounter one. She liked her blood inside of her veins. The girl took down the homework before she packed her things and left the classroom. She had some reading she needed to do on vampires for homework today. |

[justify]Geo loved knowing about the dangers of the wizarding world as much as she liked being taught how to defend herself. Taking her usual seat in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class, Geo listened as her favourite Professor began to talk about Vampires. Geo hadn't known they were even real, more like a mythical creature that came out of a book, but with the variety of creatures that she did know about it didn't take her long to accept Vampires were too. The third year desperately hoped that no one around the school was a Vampire, and would be more aware of anyone trying to get too close to her for her blood, and made the best notes she could as she listened. She was still very much distracted by the Professor, although with the amount of work she had on at the moment she couldn't afford to get too carried away and have her grades suffer. She'd come up with a plan that she hoped would let her talk to him at a more convenient time, but for now she just kept her eyes on her parchment. Once the lesson came to an end, Geo packed away her belongings quickly, before she could convince herself it was a smart idea to hang around any longer, and headed back to her common room. The week before they had learned about werewolves and today Minerva sat enthralled and somewhat horrified when they were being taught about vampires. She had heard of part vampires and such but genuinely didn't want to meet one and honestly knew in her heart and soul that she would rather meet a person who was a werewolf a few nights a month than than a person who was a threat every day and night of every month. She shivered as the professor spoke about drinking blood and glanced at the student beside her making a strange grimacing face. The student smirked and shivered too and Minerva was glad that she wasn't the only one who was creeped out by this particular subject matter. When the lesson was finally over, she gathered up her things slowly and groaned inwardly about having to go to the library to do research on such awful beings as vampires. Once in the library Minerva set her bag down and began her hunt for the book or books that she might require. It wasn't long until she found them and taking those that she needed, she sat down at a desk and began scanning through the sheaves. By the time she had three parchments filled with notes and fingers splayed with ink, Minerva was somewhat red eyed and contemplative. She was not an unjust person, she had always tried to see the good in someone or at the very least attempted to give them the benefit of the doubt before distrusting them outright but vampires! She wasn't sure how to write up her essay on them. Werewolves to her had been very straight forward, they had been bitten and were therefore cursed to have their forms and minds changed every month but a vampire - they were a magical being, born that way not created. At least she had found nothing to say otherwise. They drank blood to sustain their own life force and today there were blood banks to aid in their only source of sustenance. Could she genuinely abhor them entirely? Were they not beings who had not asked to be what they were? They could no more help their perverse nature of blood-thirst than a vampire bat! But they were trying to...wasn't that the difference? They were going to blood banks so that they would no longer feed off humans! That to Minerva was truly significant and from there she decided to set down her essay once and for all. She wrote a letter first and promised to send it off as soon as possible, then she began doing her first rough draft of her essay. It would not be complete until she got a reply for her letter and she hoped that would happen before her next Defence Against the Dark Arts class. HOMEWORK
